On Friday, FrontPageMagazine.com published an absolutely phenomenal article about our insane recognition of an "independent Kosovo," an action which helps to establish a Moslem beachhead in Europe. The piece is written by Julia Gorin, and she does an excellent job of placing this matter in perspective, writing:
How would Americans react if Latino gangs started ambushing
police and killing government officials in California, and after a few years
the U.S. sent in the troops because the gangs were outgunning the police force;
following this, the gangsters started claiming atrocities—and so Russia and
China bombed California and Washington in response to the “atrocities”; the
foreign powers then occupied California for eight years while the gangs killed
or expelled most of the non-Latinos in “revenge attacks,” then backed a
declaration of independence for California as a Mexican-majority state that may
just unify with Mexico?
Bingo. Absolutely spot-on.
I must confess that I’ve long felt bad about our policy toward the Balkans. It was a grave mistake (if, in fact, it wasn’t something more sinister) when the Clinton administration sided with Moslems and bombed the Christian country of Serbia. And, now, our recognition of this M0slem state just compounds the error.
What are we doing? Not only do I consider this policy morally wrong, but it’s also self-destructive. Kosovo is just another front in the Islamic jihad, and this eludes only supreme fools.
Gorin also quotes Thomas Landen of the Brussels Journal, who asks,
“Will Russia now become the leader of the Europeans
who resist the Islamization of their continent?”
Unfortunately, this does seem to be the case. Unencumbered by political correctness (and,
to be fair, Russia also has some different national interests), Russia can perceive the
Islamic threat far more clearly than the effete West. Don’t misunderstand me, I don’t say that
Russia’s is a good regime, but even a broken clock is right twice a day.
Regardless, to make the dual mistake of enabling
the Islamists and causing unneeded friction with Russia is insanity. I truly have never seen a civilization as self-destructive
as ours.
