Government Schools Then and Now
http://youtube.com/v/D0lR1KQq2-U
This is a wonderful video that seeks to illustrate the precipitous decline in American education. It points out what most of us already know: Schools long ago abdicated their responsibility to teach basics and devolved into leftist propaganda mills. Without a doubt, Johnny may not know how to write, but he sure understands the importance of "tolerance."

As to today's schools' relative effectiveness, consider the following statistic: In 1950, the average 14-year-old had a vocabulary of 25,000 words. What is the figure now? Ten-thousand words.

Tolerance? The government-school system is intolerable.

No matter what your level of education, I don’t know of anyone who can listen to a speech and read a different text at the same time.
Choose your videos more carefully next time Mr.Duke
This one makes you look stupid.

Wow, is this a hard one to keep up with. I suggest watching it twice…once with the sound off and once with it on. The info, both auditory and written, are very good and should not be discarded because of the clumsy delivery.

10,000 words otta do it…when lacking vocabulary just substitute one of a few four letter bombs to fill in the gaps.
The funny thing is we are all so surprised that our public education system is a failure. How do we fix the failure? Will we let the NEA figure it out, just as Barney Frank will fix the sub prime housing market? The monopoly must be broken. Let the taxpayers choose were they send their kids…vouchers for all, and all on a state level! BIG GOVERNMENT SUCKS!

When I went to public schools in the 60s and early 70s, there was absolutely no indoctrination of any kind, left-or right wing. We just studied different subjects, period.
Abortion and homosexuality were non-issues; no one, either teachers or students, ever showed the slightest interest in these things. Of course, some students and teachers were gay, but we all just minded our own business. Some girls may had had abortions, but I don’t recall any girls leaving school to have babies.
I graduated from high school one year before Roe v Wade; we never even debated abortion.
There was absolutely no conflict between science and religion; my science teachers never mentioned religion or said anything positive or negative about it.
I never came across any students or faculaty who showed any kind of religious intolerance. We all kept outr religious beliefs to ourselves.
Why can’t schools be more like this today ?

    Practice makes perfect, Chad.
Try this for an exercise: simultaneously listen to a Savage Nation broadcast and read some Dostoevsky. Don’t fret, no ivy league education required.
    You can do it!

Dear Ben, I’m pretty sure you have never read anything by Dostoevsky and that you had to Google his name to make sure how to spell it. Thirdly, nobody no matter how smart can read and listen to two different t hings and fully comprehend them both.
