Back during Iraq’s invasion of Kuwait, we became acquainted with the
term “human shields.” This was the name given to innocent citizens whom
the Iraqis would place in buildings that were obvious military targets
so as to confront the West with a dilemma: either refrain from bombing
such facilities and handicap yourself militarily or endure a
public-relations disaster for “targeting” innocent women and children.

While this is considered a most cowardly and underhanded tactic, it
essentially is done on political battlefields all the time. To pass
social-engineering legislation, proponents don’t need to bother with
intellectual appeals and logical argumentation. In fact, this would be
counter-productive as such an approach would expose the fallacies that
are their positions. So, instead, they just trot out some
human-interest story, some poor, unfortunate soul who is emblematic of
the supposed problem they promise to remedy.

Bravo Selwyn! One of your best articles yet. Although both parties parade their human shields out there, the left is by far the most extreme; but of course the ends, justify any means, no matter how shameful. The leftist’s brash exploitation of James Brady and his family, to pass the “Brady Bill” is prime example. Michael J Fox convulsing in front of the camera in order to draw sympathy away from the unborn children to be used for stem cell research and toward him is another example. Now I have not walked a mile in the shoes of MJ Fox, James Brady or Christopher Reeves and my condemnation is not directed at them, rather at the leftists that use them as a pawn; a pawn that will serve them beyond their earthly life…cloaked in a veneer of compassion and faux-altruism. They count on emotion clouding reason and that the natural reverence toward a victim will serve as a blockade to facts and intellect.

I would like to posit this question:
What is wrong with hate? Why should it be criminalized? Is it not a normal human reaction to severe injustice?
For example: I hate child molesters. That any one would harm a child sends me into unspeakable rage. The same with the elderly. Anyone care to argue?
If you witnessed someone perpetrating an act of violence on a child (or a senior) is it not your duty as a human being to act on this rage? To commit a “hate” crime? God forbid that it would be your own, or someone you have come to know and love.
We must stop this Leftist incursion into thought-control. We must battle this Big Lie with enraged hatred. Set aside the dilluting labels such as Democrat/Republican; Conservative/Liberal; left-wing/right wing and call them as you see them: good vs. evil and appropriate your “hate” accordingly.
Just for the record, I hate Keith Olbermadmann. He is a liar and a lunatic. I am so glad that I do not have to dispose of his soiled diapers after each of his broadcasts.
