We could go by historical meanings, which boils down into standards ? This topic is about standards of behavior, right ?
Making decisions and then acting based on certain standards is what people do if they have both a brain and are aware of it.
I find a value in an action if the both the action and the result benefit one or more people. However, benefit needs defining which could mean a positive or healthy outcome which goes beyond itself.
Getting to the core of this topic depends on some standard which points us back to the historical records.
Someone’s actions must be known to others for those actions to be judged.
