“Immigration is the lifeblood of America,” we hear. What isn’t said is that they may not be talking about the part of America known as the United States. So warns famed author Peter Schweizer, essentially, in a new book available today titled The Invisible Coup. The issue?
We talk much about (im)migrants’ economic and cultural effects (and the latter are severe). We discuss how one major political party looks to them to gain congressional seats and voters. But, says Schweizer, it goes beyond that. Foreign powers have actually weaponized immigration to undermine and destabilize the United States. In fact, he states, they encourage immigrants to resist assimilation, foment unrest and disruption, and to fundamentally transform America.
Not Your Grandfather’s Immigration
Schweizer discussed the matter Sunday on the Fox News Channel show Life, Liberty, and Levin. Host Mark Levin remarked that he thought he understood the immigration issue — until he read the book. He then asked Schweizer to outline his revelations, and the author replied, related Breitbart on Monday:
“[W]e’ve had a very important and needed conversation about immigration in the United States. And that focus has been primarily on the effect on the economy, things like crime in our streets, how it influences our culture. Those are all super important. And the Trump administration deserves enormous credit for sealing the border. What this book is about is the weaponization of immigration. That is how foreign adversaries and neighbors like Mexico, or countries like China, or like the Muslim Brotherhood, are using mass migration as a political weapon against us. So when somebody comes from Somalia or somebody comes from Mexico or somebody comes from China, they are bringing with them not only themselves, their family and their culture. They’re also bringing with them political networks. And these political networks are hostile to the United States. I quote extensively in the book from people from all three of those areas, how they view mass migration as a way of fundamentally transforming America. So we have sealed the border, which is vitally important. But these networks and these radicals continue to operate inside the United States.”
He added, “And as I document in the book, government officials from Mexico, individuals from China, from the Muslim Brotherhood, they are responsible for a lot of the chaos in our streets, the violent anti-ICE protests, the other protests that we’ve seen taking place.
Our foreign adversaries are actually using immigration to try to destroy us, Schweizer essentially concluded.
Pancho Villa Writ Large
In an interview with Fox News Digital, Schweizer illustrated his point more precisely by using the example of Mexico. As Fox reported Monday, the author
pointed to Mexico’s expansive diplomatic footprint in the United States, noting that the country operates 53 consulates nationwide — far more than most U.S. allies.
“Those consular officials have been tied up in organizing political activity in the United States, which is a clear violation of their diplomatic status,” said Schweizer….
Schweizer alleged that Mexican consular officials have supported or encouraged anti-Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) protests in the U.S., pointing to what he described as instances in which officials praised or took credit for community mobilization following immigration enforcement actions.
Mexican consulates routinely provide legal assistance and outreach to migrant communities after ICE raids….
Schweizer also cited the role of Mexico’s so-called “migrant legislators” — elected Mexican officials who reside in the United States and represent Mexicans living abroad — as evidence of cross-border political engagement. While those officials do not hold U.S. office, some have participated in advocacy events in the United States, raising questions among critics about the scope of foreign political activity on American soil.
Moreover, Schweizer asserts that the Mexican government is actually discouraging assimilation. As Fox tells us:
“The Mexican government gives textbooks to school districts in the United States from Los Angeles to Orlando,” Schweizer said. “Those textbooks are designed to make sure that migrant children view themselves as Mexican first, not as Mexican–American.”
More Mexican Machinations
In summary, Schweizer further claims/proposes (from Fox’s article):
- The aforementioned textbooks present highly biased, anti-American history, and schools may accept them uncritically.
- There has been coordination between Mexican diplomatic missions and Democratic Party activists that influences American politics. Schweizer cited a 2024 meeting in Oklahoma as an example.
- Meeting attendees discussed how California and Arizona shifted from Republican to Democratic control — and plotted to turn the entire U.S. “blue.” They warned that Republicans would soon get wind of this plan.
- Such involvement by foreign diplomats in U.S. elections is against the law, and complicit officials should be expelled.
- An example of a destabilization effort is Mexican government-supported streaming service TV Migrante, introduced just last March. It targets Mexican migrants in the U.S. The channel heavily favored Kamala Harris, is anti-Trump, and has likened ICE agents to Nazis or fascists.
- The U.S. must cease permitting these activities, particularly with upcoming midterm elections.
One Nation, One People?
So what’s an example of this mass-immigration-born destabilization? Well, just consider the billion-dollar Minnesota Somali fraud scandal. One reason politicians such as Democratic governor Tim Walz turned a blind eye to it is that they feared “racism” allegations and alienating the “Somali community.”
Another illustrative example, though from overseas, is the U.K.’s Pakistani rape-gang scandal. It involved the molestation and abuse of thousands of indigenous British girls. As with the above, too, authorities were paralyzed by fear of “racism” accusations. Conclusion?
When a group is identified as the “______ community” (enter the relevant foreign descriptor), assimilation has not occurred. In your midst is a force properly described as “alien,” no matter what its members’ passports say. And when “your” politicians start subordinating native citizens to the foreign group(s), it’s a clue:
Immigration has become a problem.
You are, as Ambassador Alan Keyes once put it, “being colonized.”
Returning to Schweizer and Mexico, he added perspective, likening the country’s actions to those of China. Beijing has long been projecting what it calls “soft power” in the United States. For example, it has managed to inject its propaganda into American schools through its “Confucius Institutes.” China has also succeeded in censoring our movies, using economic blackmail, via its State Administration of Radio, Film and Television.
But that foreign powers will scheme to undermine our country is no surprise. What of, however, the Democratic Party activists meeting with Mexican officials? What’s it called when your own citizens plot with foreign enemies to undermine your nation?
There just may be a word for it.
