About

“‘Honesty’ is such a lonely word,” sang Billy Joel in 1978. It sure is, but so is that word describing what the virtue of Honesty helps us discover: “Truth.”

In a world rife with fake news, cynicism and lies (and much beauty and goodness, too, to be fair)—and, most significantly, with mushy-headed relativism—sincere seekers of Truth are sorely needed today. Such a quest is what this site, and my decades of journalistic endeavors, is all about, too.

Now, while being Truth-oriented helps forestall prejudice and bigotry, do not confuse it with being unbiased. Everyone has a perspective, after all. But the critical point here is almost universally missed:

What matters is whether you’re biased in favor of the Truth or a lie.

I am proudly, unabashedly and unwaveringly biased in favor of Truth. This sometimes puts me outside the Overton Window and sometimes within it, but, hopefully, never puts me in the realm of banality.

As for the less important matters—experience—(some people are more “experienced” after one year than others are after 10), I’ve been a warrior of the pen and tongue for more than a generation. I’ve written for The New American for more than 15 years. I’ve also plied my trade at The Hill, Observer, The American Conservative, WND.com, American Thinker and in many other print and online publications. In addition, I have contributed to college textbooks published by Gale-Cengage Learning, have appeared on television and am a frequent guest on radio.

Many others, though, can also boast such a résumé. So it’s more fun, and actually more illuminating, to say this: I’m a sojourner on the blue orb, philosopher king, teller of Truth and theoretical time traveler. Follow me for the best commentary this side of Heaven—guaranteed.

Sincerely and God bless,

Selwyn Duke
