Amnesty_now

How quickly they forget.  Not that long ago, Manchurian candidate John McCain was reviled among traditionalists for siding with the open-borders crowd during the scamnesty debate.  Now, after languishing in campaign purgatory for months, he’s baaaack.  He has vaulted into second place in the New Hampshire Republican Primary.

In politics, time really does heal all wounds, especially when the blood spilled is that of a cause far from the media’s heart.  A politician can say or do virtually anything and the people will forget about it in a few months.  So let’s review McCain’s transgressions.

Like Huck the Huckster, McCain has no problem granting amnesty to illegal aliens.  Oh, he may not say it right now, but the best predictor of future behavior is past behavior.  That’s why, the shorter his political future, the better it is for us.

If you ask whether illegal aliens should receive government services, most people will answer in the negative.  But not McCain.  In 2004, he opposed Proposition 200 in Arizona, a measure that would have reserved such benefits to citizens.  In fact, in his Az. Senate re-election effort that year, two elements of his campaign platform were:

To have no more ballot initiatives against immigrants.

— To give everyone in the world a chance to come to the US

This is no surprise.  This is the man who said it’s un-American to be selective about who we let in the US.  He said that a suspension of legal immigration (which is uncommon common sense) is "beyond my realm of thinking" (yes, Senator, many things are).  He criticized federal funding for border security earmarks in Arizona.  He said that implementing deportation of illegals was a fantasy.  He said in 2003 that "amnesty has to be a component of immigration reform."  And, here is the pièce de résistance, he voted in opposition to most members of his party to force our country to consult with Mexico before securing the border.  Yes, we should have to get a si señor before protecting our nation.

Of course, I can understand why many voters are now looking toward McCain.  With the crop of unpalatable front-runners we’re presented with, many citizens are thrashing about, jumping from one lukewarm candidate to another trying to find a leader.  Unfortunately, politicians we have in abundance; leaders are few and far between.

But even if I have to choose a politician, it won’t be the Manchurian candidate.

Even with the lack of leadership in the list of candidates, people still shouldn’t be so desperate to vote for someone who obviously would waste and spend as a continuation of this administration’s policies. I have no problem with immigrants coming to this country at all, but what I do have a problem with is the fact that on top of not paying taxes, they have access to all of the social benefits that our own citizens should have access to first. I don’t care how one looks at it, it’s simply not fair that some of our own citizens, many of them veterans, can’t receive any assistance from the government when they need it, and that’s just plain un-American.

Don’t overlook the forest because there is a tree in the way! Something everyone seems to miss is that this boom in immigration is over-taxing our infrastructure, burdening our resources, leaving a far greater carbon footprint, don’t we already have a devastated health-care system? Managed immigration is imperative! Find out more visit The Conservative Storm … read The Cadence Prophecies to see what’s coming and be prepared. http://www.conservativestorm.com

    A nation of Immigrants.
How silly of me to have been indoctrinated by leftist elementarty schoolteachers!
Well, I read above about politicians and leaders, Hucksters and has-beens. And again more rambling about undocumented aliens sapping our socialist resources…
True, emergency room visits are by far the greatest drains on the system, but as far as programs, I happen to know that county welfare departments do not grant assistance to non-citizens, except for minors and pregnancy services. That means no Food Stamps, no TANF, no Medicaid or Medi-Care!
And as far as the political element, who in their right mind would even attempt to lead only half a nation? Liberal/Conservative, Red State/Blue State.. there is definitely an imperative to make compromise and search out sane solutions to our ever-mounting problems AS A NATION. A nation of Immigrants.

Sneed, I am afraid that you are not aware of what goes on in the county welfare departments. Not only do they receive all of these things, but they will tell you that they receive these things, and in a manner in which they feel entitled to receive them. The reason they are allowed to receive this aid is because social workers cannot ask if they are illegal, but only if they are citizens, and we all know that those are two very different questions. Like I said, I don’t have a problem with any immigrants because I believe that their presence is a good thing, but I certainly don’t want to ignore the needs of our citizens at all cost.

Sneed I have bad news for you. My mother is a first generation immigrant to this country and I was born in another country and had to declare my citizenship to keep that country from enlisting me in their military.
I am intimately aware of the law.
I do not care if any of these illegals get any government benefits at all for anything. They should be rounded up and sent back and our soldiers should be standing at the gate with a loaded gun saying I dare you to cross the line for fear of being leveled as the law breakers they are. I am entirely sick to death of hearing any more justifications for allowing these people to stand upon American soil. They are criminals the moment they do not apply for and receive American citizenship in the ordered process that has been available since the time of the immigrants you speak of. We will no longer give them any quarter, and it is a travesty that we elect any representative official that will either for any reason. How about we send the elected official to their country to represent them!!
The time for talking has long past. We have made our decision and for once we need to have the intestinal fortitude to see it through. NO MORE ILLEGAL ALIENS FOR ANY REASON. Get it?

It is true, eligibility workers may only ask if an applicant is a citizen. And obviously many states have seriously burdened themselves with promises of a social safety net, and the inane federal slogan “Food Stamps Make America Stronger”.
But the mistaken sense of entitlement is evident across the board, not just with illegals. And for the record, I work for the County Welfare Department. I get to process all the files that get discontinued or denied, and they far outweigh the approved applications.
Anyway it’s possible I was just experiencing a fit of low blood sugar…
Or maybe I just thought I’d stir up the melting pot and see how close it is to boiling over! ;^)
