Juan_hernandez By Selwyn Duke

To those who get their information from sources other than campaign propaganda, it’s no secret that John McCain believes in amnesty for illegals.  Not surprisingly, however, this isn’t a position he touts on the stump.  This is why it’s quite startling that he would choose an illegal-alien enabler as his Hispanic outreach director.

The man in question is Juan Hernandez, a Texas-born shill for Mexican interests.  If you’ve never seen this character, know that he is the very picture of an old-west snake-oil salesman.  As unctuous as Eddie Haskell, he appears on TV and advocates for the destruction of our culture with a syrupy delivery and greasy smile.  He’ll address opponents as "my friend" a dozen times a debate, but, as Michelle Malkin pointed out when locking horns with him, not only isn’t he her friend, he’s no friend of America.  As to this, let’s consider some quotations of his:

–  "I never knew the border as a limitation. I’d be delighted if all of us could come and go between these two marvelous countries.”

– "We have recognized that the Mexican population is 100 million in Mexico and 23 million who live in the United States . . . We are a united nation."

– “[Mexicans] are not going to assimilate, in the sense of dissolving into not being Mexican.”

– "We are betting that the Mexican-American population in the United States . . . will think Mexico first."

I’ll also point out that Hernandez, as a dual Mexican-American citizen, was a member of Mexican President Vicente Fox’ cabinet, heading up the latter’s "Office for Mexicans Abroad."  And according to this office’s website, one of its goals was,

“To attend to the millions of Mexicans and Mexican-Americans who live in the United States as citizens, residents, temporary workers and illegal aliens [emphasis mine] . . . .

In other words, Hernandez’ job was to privilege illegal aliens over native Americans.  He is a traitor.

Some would be tempted to ask John McCain to explain himself, but it’s unnecessary.  We know where he stands, just as we know where Juan Hernandez does.  It is those who will vote for him even after learning of this damnable association who have to explain themselves.

We would do well to remember a certain formula this election cycle: McCain+a Democrat House+a Democrat Senate=amnesty.

It’s not a difficult calculation.

Thank you for the fine article. Immigration and the presence of an illegal alien population in the United States is the most important issue of the next presidential election. America faces enormous challenges in the short term. None, will have a greater impact on the character of our country than how this is decided.
