A second-grade male student at a Highlands Ranch, Colorado, school wants to return to school as a "girl," dressed in girls’ clothing and being addressed by a girl’s name.  And school officials are accommodating him.  Writes reporter Nelson Garcia:

‘As a public school system, our calling is to educate all kids no
matter where they come from, what their background is, beliefs, values,
it doesn’t matter,’ said Whei Wong, Douglas County Schools
spokesperson.

Wong says the staff at one of Douglas County’s
schools is preparing to accommodate the student and answer questions
other students might have. In order to protect the child as much as
possible, 9NEWS has chosen not to reveal his school or other names that
might identify the child.

‘I see this as being a very
difficult situation to explain to my daughter to explain why someone
would not want to be the gender they were born with,’ said Dave M [a parent of another student].

Whei Wong is Way Wrong.  This is sick.  It is much like the case out of Germany a while back in which a 12-year-old boy was allowed to embark upon the initial stages of the mutilation known as a "sex-change procedure" (it doesn’t change your sex any more than adding a tail and hair would turn one into a monkey) simply because he had the same disordered feelings. 

Please, I’ve heard all about what the psycho-babblers term "gender dysphoria"; I just don’t buy it.  The more obvious conclusion is that such people have a severe psychological problem and that it isn’t their bodies that need alteration, but their minds. 

Moreover, one has to wonder what kind of parents would sanction such behavior.   As far as I’m concerned, this is child abuse. 

It also occurs to me that modern parents — especially those of a certain ideological bent —  are notorious for pandering to their children’s every whim and that this is a most perverse and extreme manifestation of that problem.   How much do you want to bet that his parents are leftists?  I can’t imagine traditionalists believing that a 7-year-old is equipped to make such a decision.

What’s also tragic is that school officials are inflicting this perversion on the young minds under their care.  To legitimize such things by sanctioning them within schools is immoral.  It’s yet another reason why more and more people are homeschooling. 

Leave the government schools to rot.
