Because my estimation of academia couldn’t possibly get any lower, nothing Duke University does to further abuse the lacrosse players it crucified shocks me. However, the world should be kept apprised of how the phony, hypocritical scoundrels at the institution are comporting themselves. As to this, Clarice Feldman writing at American Thinker reports:
After tarring and
feathering and discriminating against the Duke lacrosse members at a
critical juncture in their college careers and lives, the Duke
Administration has gone to court trying to shut down the players’ website,
which contains the pleadings in their recently filed case against the
university and a compendium of press coverage about the case. The
website seems well within ethical bounds and the pleadings by the
University cite no authority to suggest otherwise. As K.C. Johnson observes:

One of my editors, a man who used to be in academia, once told me that most academics are "wretched people." This accords with what I wrote yesterday about the ex-Weather Underground terrorists working as college professors. It’s not surprising that such reprobates gravitate toward the academy and are welcomed with open tentacles, as most universities are leftist propaganda mills populated by pseudo-intellectual ne’er do wells. Thus, it’s also not surprising that they have no shame in the Duke lacrosse matter.
Now you know why the late William F. Buckley once said,
"I’d rather be governed by 400 people out of the phone book than the whole faculty of Harvard."
Amen, Mr. Buckley. And may you rest in the arms of the Lord.
