Since we now live in a daytime-talk-show culture, it didn’t surprise me to see that one of the biggest news stories during the last couple of days concerned a pregnant "man." Of course, since ours is now also a culture of lies, it shouldn’t shock anyone to learn that the individual in question isn’t a man at all.
The person, who now goes by the name Thomas Beatie, is a transsexual, meaning, someone who has submitted to a desire to mutilate himself instead of addressing the psychological problem of which the desire was born.
It saddens me how people will jump on destructive bandwagons simply to be politically correct. Let’s understand something: You do not become a member of the opposite sex simply because you decide to have your body and chemistry altered; you simply become a mutilated member of your own sex. It is no different than if I were to have hair implants all over my body, have some plastic surgery, run around on all fours, and bark. It wouldn’t make me a dog.
Nevertheless, virtually everyone in the media is printing the same pablum, referring to Beatie as a man and by the pronoun he. What utter nonsense.
And, no, I don’t subscribe to the modern precept stating that we should address people however they desire. Do you? If so, then you can call me god. Or, maybe, if I like you, I may settle for master.
The point is that someone may live in a fantasy world in which he believes he’s something he’s not — heck, asylums are filled with people who may think they’re Napoleon, the queen of England or Jimmy Hoffa — but that doesn’t mean I have to join them in their delusion.
As for Beatie, she’s a mixed-up soul. And, apparently, increasing numbers of the rest of us are just as lost.
