This Really is Funny

There are a lot of people who send me emails, and some of them contain humor.  I don’t usually print such things, but what follows is actually clean and funny.

A teacher in Lafayette, Tennessee, asked her 6th grade class how
many of them were Obama fans.
Not really knowing what an Obama fan is,
but wanting to be liked by the teacher, all the kids raised their hands except
for Little Johnny.
The teacher asked Little Johnny why he has decided to
be different…again.
Little Johnny said, "Because I’m not an Obama
fan."
The teacher asked, "Why aren’t you an Obama fan?"
Johnny
said, "Because I’m a Republican."
The teacher asked him why he’s a
Republican.
Little Johnny answered, "Well, my Mom’s a Republican and my
Dad’s a Republican, so I’m a Republican."
Annoyed by this answer, the
teacher asked,
"If your mom was a moron and your dad was an idiot, what
would that make you?"
With a big smile, Little Johnny
replied,
*"That would make me an Obama fan. "

    This isn’t very funny, considering that the Obama fans are generally more educated and wealthy. Sure can’t say that about McCain fans!

    Where did you come up with that silly tidbit? CNN? Air America? NPR?
    Additionally, “educated” is a relative term…you I am sure are familiar with the term relative. Perhaps you could say indoctrinated. Liberal arts colleges are a scam. Pffttt

    Walt,
    One thing about a liberal arts education; it might give one better insight into what actually is funny than say, business school or engineering. But, I don’t really follow your point here.
    Anyway, did you think Selwyn’s joke was funny? That worked over piece of mean spirited standup has been told in various versions since the Truman administration.
    I mean, did you laugh? Come on tell the truth! That’s what done here, truth telling. Or, is what’s done here just a reactionary version of agitprop?

    Yes I laughed, and yes I have heard it before. I guess I should cry…You ever listen to NPR? Talk about the dead horse kick fest. Just seeing Obamas name in that joke is a joke. Obama the next President???? Even Aldous Huxley would not have written that one. Wake me up…tell me this is a nightmare.

    Actually Walt, I didn’t get my information from either source. I’m not so unintelligent that I MUST rely on the “facts” that are fed to me through biased media outlets. If you bothered to conduct some research in your own surroundings, you will find that those who support Obama happen to be in the class that I mentioned. Contrary to your probable belief, blacks aren’t the only ones voting for him, and even if they were, that wouldn’t be enough to get him in the white house.

    If Barack Obama should be President of the United States is both a Black and White question…And, it is not!
    It is a black and white issue insomuch as sadly, there are people in our country who will, when the time to enter the voting booth comes…simply not vote for a black man. For these people there is no hope, no cure, no measure that will ease the death grip that they have on their ballots. And they will cast those ballots into the darkness in which they live, blind to the world and the needs of America in the first part of this century.
    It is a black and white choice however, when it comes to Obama and the Republican candidate. What more proof of that do voters need than to look into their pocketbooks; or at the price of gasoline at the pump; or the thinning help wanted ads; or the death toll in Iraq?
    What more proof does a voter need to show that the Republican Party has failed America…than our current President? That clearly is black and white. And so is the choice in the next election.

    You kidding, you must be kidding. I guess you haven’t been listening. Obama believes higher gas prices are a good thing because they encourage development of other energy sources. So even if he could he probably wouldn’t lower gas prices. Of course, he can’t. Gas prices are beyond the control of the president, so stop being dishonest. Tell us what Obama the socialist will do to lower gas prices. He’s not going to drill more, he’s made that clear. So what is he going to do?

    Conservatism is a lie! It is the big lie. It is the big lie that just keeps on giving and giving. It is the lie that pretends to be the truth. How many conservative lies can we tolerate before we say…Stop!
    Stop, hold on…There were no WMD’s. There was no reason to invade Iraq. The economy really does stink. We have less disposable income now then before the neo-cons took over. They are playing both ends against the middle and turning Americans against one another. They are spending; spending; spending. And we will be in debit for a long, long time because of it. There are young American men and women coming home crippled, damaged or dead because of the path that conservatives put them on.
    What really has conservatism done for us? Holler about the decline of the family, when it has created an environment that makes it more than difficult for the traditional family to exist? Yell about moral erosion, while fostering a climate that allows corporate criminals to pick your pocket with little or no sanction? Whine about the assault on our culture, heritage and traditions, while opening the door to cheap Mexican labor and employing millions of illegal aliens in jobs Americans should have? Waving the Bible while paying lip service to the teachings of Christ and using religion as a hammer in their arguments.
    Conservatism has been a lie for a long time now. Time enough for Americans to put down that heavy bag they have been carrying those lies around in and elect Barack Obama president.
