It seems as if taking offense is the recreation of
choice in modern America. The latest
example (of which I’m aware; I’m sure our UPS {umbrage per second} statistic is
sky high) has resulted in a planned protest at WOR Radio in Manhattan over some
comments radio talk show host Michael Savage made concerning autism. Or, to be precise, the commentary involved
not that condition but behavior that might be misdiagnosed as autism. Here is what Savage said, as reported
by wcbstv.com:

During the July 16 edition of his show,
Savage claimed that autism is “[a] fraud, a racket. … I’ll tell you what autism
is. In 99 percent of the cases, it’s a brat who hasn’t been told to cut the act
out. That’s what autism is. What do you mean they scream and they’re silent?
They don’t have a father around to tell them, ‘Don’t act like a moron. You’ll
get nowhere in life. Stop acting like a putz. Straighten up. Act like a man.
Don’t sit there crying and screaming, idiot.’”

One person who took exception to
this commentary was Martin Schwartzman, the father of an autistic child. He opined:

“I couldn’t understand why someone
could be so heartless and so insensitive, and also so ignorant for a
national talk show host . . . . It was
so hurtful to all individuals with disabilities, particularly those with
autism, but I really think he should be removed from the air.”

For all I know, Mr. Schwartzman may
be a very decent man, but evident is that he has never listened to Savage’s
show. If he had, there are a few things
he would probably understand.

First, Michael Savage grew up with
a brother who suffered from severe retardation, one whom he loved very much and
has spoken of on numerous occasions with the deepest affection and
emotion. Listening to Savage, it’s
apparent that this experience instilled in him a respect for human life that
doesn’t end where mental impairment begins. It is why he was livid when Howard Stern mocked people so afflicted some
years back; it is why he has taken up the cudgels against euthanasia on their
behalf.

It is also why – and I’m inferring
here – Savage is no doubt more offended than most when an irresponsible
psychiatric community diagnoses normal but ill-behaved children as mentally
impaired. It bothers me as well for a
number of reasons, and I’ll explain.

Some today have a nasty habit of
labeling ambiguous sexual encounters (e.g., a woman who, after a consensual
sexual experience, gets jilted and then claims she was an unwilling participant)
as rape. Many people genuinely concerned
about real rape are outraged by this, as such a practice diminishes the
crime. After all, if you bastardize the term,
lumping in the category that which is less serious or even innocent, people
will take it less seriously. This hurts
actual rape victims, as they then may not receive the consideration, care and
redress they deserve.

It’s no different when those who are
merely ill-behaved are misdiagnosed as mentally impaired. By labeling these less serious or even
non-existent problems as mental conditions, it causes society to take authentic
ones less seriously. And when Savage
bemoans this fact, he speaks for millions who have had to care for legitimately
mentally-ill/impaired individuals. I
myself know such a caregiver, and she has lamented the fast-and-loose
psychiatric diagnoses so common today. She has seen firsthand how they take attention, consideration and
resources away from people such as her truly mentally-ill family member.

So, getting back to Mr.
Schwartzman, maybe I can assuage his feelings. Michael Savage is not saying autism doesn’t exist; he is simply pointing
out that the condition is over-diagnosed. Thus, Mr. Schwartzman, if your son is legitimately autistic, Savage
isn’t talking about you. He is not
diminishing your son’s travails but railing against those who are.

This is the spirit and meaning of
what Savage said. Sure, it’s very easy
to cherry-pick extemporaneous radio commentary for the purposes of twisting a
host’s meaning. Talk radio is a
real-time, fast-paced medium where one speaks off the cuff and often uses
hyperbole to drive home concepts. Does
Savage believe that the autism-misdiagnosis rate is actually 99 percent? I don’t know – maybe he does, maybe he
doesn’t. If he does, maybe he’s right,
maybe he isn’t. If literalism matters to
you, I suggest you ask him. But do you
really believe the condition is never
misdiagnosed? Do you really know what
the misdiagnose rate is? Well, we’re not
going to find out by silencing those who dare say the therapist has no clothes.

Regardless, trigger-happy
diagnosticians are legion in psychiatry. The most egregious example of their handiwork is ADHD, a mythical
condition that has become a handy excuse for bad behavior. I addressed it in this piece, in which I point out
that head shrinkers are now prescribing Ritalin for children as young as two years old. I also quote a rare, common-sense
psychologist named John Rosemond, who said (I’m paraphrasing):

“All children ‘have ADD’ up till
age two, but if they’re socialized properly, it’s bred out of them.”

I won’t elaborate further here, but
if you’re interested in my full analysis, read the piece I cited.

Something else in my article is
also relevant. Many may scoff at
Savage’s assertion that a child diagnosed with autism might just be “. . . a
brat who hasn’t been told to cut the act out.” C’mon, could it really be an act? Well, consider an anecdote I presented:

. . . I think of a very charming friend I
had many years ago. The son of a
psychologist, he was diagnosed with a learning disability in the 1970s, before
such designations were fashionable, and attended a special school for children
so afflicted. Here is what he told me
about himself and his fellow students (it’s close to verbatim): ‘We thought it
[the ‘conditions’] was all nonsense; it was just a way to get out of doing
work.’

So such children do exist, and
they’re aided and abetted by “mental-health professionals” who are content to
be fooled – and to be foolish. Psychology
is the only field wherein the practitioners invent, or exaggerate the
prevalence of, diseases and conditions so they’ll have ready diagnoses. It isn’t just autism and ADHD. Consider what I wrote
in “The Hard Truth about a Soft Science: Why Psychology Does More Harm than
Good”:

. . . I recently read about psychiatrists
who are labeling the desire to engage in excessive text messaging a mental
disorder. Then there is “Muscle Dysmorphia,” or the obsessive belief that one
isn’t muscular enough; “celebriphilia,” the strong desire for amorous relations
with a celebrity; “Intermittent Explosive Disorder,” or road rage; “Sibling
Rivalry Disorder”; “Mathematics Disorder”; “Caffeine Related Disorder”; and
“Expressive Writing disorder” . . . a defiant child or employee isn’t ruled by
pride but has “Oppositional Disorder,” a person with a lack of gratitude isn’t
just that but one who suffers from “Chronic Complaint Disorder” . . . .

Now, in light of the above, don’t
you think that maybe, just perhaps, misdiagnosis and over-diagnosis might be a
problem? Isn’t suspicion of psychiatric
determinations warranted?

Then there is the reason why the
psychiatric profession suffers from what I’ll call “Chronic Disorder Invention
Disorder”: Money. Every time it labels
what was formerly called a sin as a disease or condition of the brain, its
market grows. “Hey, I just thought of a
new category.”

Ka-ching.

ADHD?

Ka-ching.

Over-diagnosing autism?

Ka-ching, ka-ching, ka-ching.

“Can you diagnosis me,
doctor?” “Why, yes, patient, you’re
$30,000 sick.”

So, you folks who care for the
truly mentally impaired should be upset, but not at Michael Savage. He has been there; he has carried that
cross. Direct you ire at those afflicted
with a “disorder” lamented since time immemorial.

It’s
called greed.

Don’t judge a person based on a single paragraph. He overstated the point out of passion, but you have to hear more than that to get the context. Michael is arguing for the protection of kids from the overuse of medication. He is not speaking specifically about your child. He is warning against the dangers of drugs and arguing that attention, discipline, and nutrition should be the first attempt at treatment. If you listen to the whole show you will hear that.

Wow. Had to skip a few pages of comments because the fur was flying too much. As a result….
I’m not sure if anybody commented on it, but Savage did state in a later show that the 99% could be 75% or 80%, or some such number, but he did state that even he didn’t know the exact numbers.
Yeesh, if people want to get technical on numbers, then America would actually be out of a multi-Trillion dollar debt.
I’m a very recent listener of Mike Savage and in the two weeks that I’ve listened off and on (when I get the chance during work or after), I’ve heard a lot of things that I agree with, but also some that I don’t (took offense to one statement made earlier today). But the funny thing is that while I did take offense, I kept on listening to get a bigger picture of what he was talking about.
I kind of wonder now how I would turn out if I were 7 again, in today’s society. I refused to talk until that age. Not sure why, maybe a mental disorder, maybe there were too many stupid people around me to bother with.
    To quote Albert Einstein:

well-paid working woman, Tell me where Savage was hiding today. Where was he? Why didn’t he perform on his one hour and fifty-two minute opus today?
I’m not wrong in what I wrote the other day. I said Savage is a coward and drop out of sight when things get tough. He’s a weak worm and based on the writing capabilities of my critics on this particular blog there’s no way in Hell I can be offended or challenged for the observations I make about Savage.
He’s weak, lonely, mentally sick, unhappily married, lives in a neighborhood where his neighbors hate his guts, can’t win a court case if he had the best loiyas (his term) in the Universe, tells the world he is the best at everything he does, changes that stance when he puts his dick in the wringer and cries aloud wanting to know why other radio hosts and TV hosts don’t speak out on his behalf or rally to his defense…you know, the same people Savage ridicules.
And, the topper of them all is the fool who actually donate to what he calls the Savage Defense Fund. The man has a fleet of some of the most expensive cars one can buy, has a boat and maybe even a plane. And what does he have the chutzpah to do? He asks his devoted listeners for a hand out as though giving his loiya money to fight his loser causes somehow has something to do with “keeping free speech alive”.
Ironically enough, Savage can blame ONLY himself if he gets thrown off the air due to sponsor evaporation. But you people follow him like the second coming of Jim Jones.
    You all have my sympathies.
Get to work at your construction job, sucker. See, I’m just like Savage. I have enough money to buy the Golden Gate Bridge and get to laugh at you slobs.
Stay tuned Thursday. Savage MAY be on the air to fill that void in your life.

I sure hope the long term side effects can result in a massive class action suit which john Edwards can bring and we can all pay for with higher medical bills. many doctors diagnosis young boys as attention deficient disorders and other labels if they are a little loud. my oldest son would have been labeled add for dancing on the table in kindergarden. instead the teachers realized he was bored, maybe because he said he was giving her to christman to teach the class to read. so she let him go into the third grade class for reading and then return to his age group. but he could have been put on drugs instead. use common sense with children. most children to not need to be on drugs while the brain is still being formed

To those who refer leftists to liberals there hasnt been very much factaul evidence to make actual claims on absolutes, pertaining to labels with the ideaologcal connection between leftist and liberal. I some what remembered what mike savage had said about actual labeling with liberals and conservatives, and im not quoting here, he said theres no differance between the left and the right within the liberal or conservitive. however if i got it wrong my take is that, there is a difference or differences between a republican and democrat.
As for mike savages take on mental health misdiagnoses, i agree, why? because im one of those federal welfare parasites- but at the same time of course in contradiction( prime in human nature) i could be very well be disabled, most likely at a phychosematic level. So yes to those given this info with very little detail provided in my qausi disabled state, maybe it could be understood like a paradox, in some context or simlarity.

Yes i consider my self a conservitive but i value more of being a left wing rather than right, I dont believe in gay rights pertaining to there double standards, i dont beleive in illegal immagration( not legal immigration which i beleive in). I beleive in partial birth abortion( not full birth abortion) and i beleive in a socialist democracy (like canada)and not a socialist republic, in which why drug companys can get dirty rich off the pains and exploits of others.
So it might be vain to use my profile as an example. I do beleive though this paragraph above, has clarified a miscomseption of liberals and conservitives, all though its a popular consensous:
1.Anti abortion is a conservitive ideology
2.Anti illegal immagration is a factual
idealogy and for better serves the

I really appreciated this article and I think the gentleman who wrote this piece of literary art deserves every ounce of my appreciation. He did an excellent job of explaining to the dim-sighted folks out there what Dr. Savage really meant. I am seventeen years old… SEVENTEEN YEARS OLD, probably less then half as old as 75% of the people who posted comments, and I didn’t have any problem understanding the point Michael Savage was trying to make. It’s just some people are always trying to find fault with him, always looking for ways to twist his statements to make them sound offensive and rude to the extreme. If Michael Savage publicly asserts that autism is over diagnosed, then he has the responsibility to cite the basis of his assertion. What proof does he have for this claim? I’m not aware he has listed any evidence, which makes his rant just that; a blowhard in a public forum. Michael Savage has confused conservatism with obnoxiousness. There really is a difference.

Mr. Desroches, the funny thing about free health care is that it is ultimately NOT free (for that matter, anything listed as free isn’t free, there’s always a cost). Granted, you or I or anybody else could walk into a clinic and not have to pay out of pocket right then-and-there, thus the concept of free. Drawback: The money has to come from somewhere to pay for it. If the government is paying for it, the government charges us for it through taxes. I don’t know about you, but I “be a po’ boy” whom cannot afford higher taxes.
Like-wise, I have a feeling that the rest of the upper-lower/lower-middle class would also have problems with the idea of higher taxes to pay for medical care costs, on top of everything else we’re paying for.
While the idea of fpm is good, wetback is better as it is far more generalized to ALL ILLEGALS, and not just the mexicans. And the real terrorist of this country is blind stupidity. People would be amazed by the amount of information that is considered public domain (laws proposed, laws passed/denied and who voted to pass them or not). They’d be even more amazed on how easy it is to find it, assuming of course they actually took the time to look for it. But the majority don’t bother looking for it because they can sit in front of the idiot box….excuse me, the television and get what ever “information” the different groups want us to hear. American society has become “gotta have it now, now, now” without taking the time to actually look into it, without actually gaining knowledge about it. Which is another problem that brings rise to the drug companies. So long as people have their X-Boxes, 500 channels on cable/satelite, microwave dinners and cheap gas….who cares what happens.
I do care. Why do I care? I’m tired of having politicians being elected based upon vague promises of change that never happen or go in the wrong direction. I’m tired of seeing politicians being elected again and again and again and yet again, and then find out they’ve being investigated for some illegal act. Why are these idiots being elected into office? Because as long as the american people have their happy fix, they don’t care. They won’t take the time to do a personal investigation to acquire knowledge to make to truely informed decision.
Two working parents that don’t have any interest in properly raising their child watch as their child becomes who-knows-what. What’s the solution? Take ’em to the doctor….”Doctor, doctor. My child is acting like this (power word blah description here) what can you do?” The response is “Let us examin him/her.” Some time later…”Your child has this (or this or this) here is what we can prescribe.” Little Johnny or Susie is now drugged and a whole lot better.
Ok, perhaps an over dramatization, but let’s face it, there are people like that. In my earlier post, I admitted that I refused to talk until I was seven years old. Both of my parents worked, and it wasn’t until after I’d started talking that my mom left the work force to raise me, and then my brother and sister. One working parent, one parent home to raise the kids (a buddy is a stay-at-home father, and damn I never saw more discipline in three kids before). All it takes is a little extra effort on the parents part to raise their kids properly. For those who have legitimate medical problems, rock on with doing what you have to do….you NEED to do it, it’s part of being a good parent. But for the rest of you where both of you work and don’t spend true quality time with your kid/s, stop breeding, please. This country doesn’t need drugged children to grow up and become drugged adults for no true, honest-to-god, legitimate reason. And there are people like that, there is no denying this.

Actually Grendel, it is possible for people to be good parents and both to work. We would be poor white trash if we both didn’t work and get educated. So I think that your point regarding the need for one parent to stay home full time for the whole course of a child’s raising was a little overstated.
That doesn’t change the fact that Mikey Wiener is the offspring of two communist, secular Jews, who was a communist himself, and remains a self-loathing, closeted gay man.

jsquaring the truth, isn’t it ironic that for all his talk about defending Jews around the World, particularly in Israel, he takes great pains to not…not ONCE…ever speak about his own Jewish heritage?
I understand what you mean in referring to him as a “self loathing” man. He is a self-hating Jew as well, for whatever reason I’ll never know, and yet, he belittles Mike Wallace with his vile innuendo and references to Mr. Wallace’s choosing to change his name from Wallechinsky fearing, I presume, to not sound too Jewish.
Savage has nothing positive or flattering to say about anyone but prominent Jews take the biggest hit from Michael Weiner. Of course, Savage knows that he is “bullet-proof” against serious allegations of being accused of anti-Semitism since he is known to all as a Jew himself and he can easily hide behind the of: “If Blacks can call each other the “N” word then I have a perfect Right to speak ill to one of my own.”
This is hogwash, as we all know, but who cares what Weiner uses as a defense for his antics. He always…always…has an out for whatever comes out of his mouth. No matter how sincere he is when he speaks, no matter how much he claims to SPEAK the Truth, he always hides behind the excuse that he was “taken out of context” or “My show is built on sarcasm and satire” or ANY lame excuse except to ever say: “You got it. I said it and I meant it…every word of it. You can use one quote from me but it does not obscure the truth I speak. I’m not even going to respond to Media Matters or any of my critics. Class dismissed!”
No, he goes on for days and weeks, when he isn’t hiding at home in bed with his only friend, Teddy, watching movies and trembling with fear that everyone in the Universe is out to get him. The ironic reality is that he is his own worst enemy. He opens his big mouth, the World comes crashing on his small-minded head then he wonders what the Hell happened.
He bashes and ridicules other radio and TV hosts then wonders why they don’t have his back, solidly defending him against those who wish to steal his Right to speak freely. As Ace Ventura would say: “Reeeeahehehel lyyy!”
    Doesn’t this man get it?
For instance, going to his various complaints while he trolls the real world he often complains about wrong food orders or speaks in belittling terms about wait staff or busboys. Doesn’t this guy know that when he mouths off in this manner that the people at whatever Indian or Chinese restaurant are not going to find out? What does Weiner think he’s going to find in his food or drink on his next visit? In his mind nothing more than what he ordered. In reality, how ‘bout a nice long loogie with those noodles? Hey, maybe Hop Sing decides to perform a self-administered rectal exam with his index finger then stirs Weiner’s Wan Ton soup with the not so tasty digit…at no extra charge of course.
One time Weiner complained and moaned about one food joint he has been getting take-out from for years. YEARS, mind you, and “they still can’t get my order right!” He went on to say that he called the offending joint to complain and kvetch about the stupid people who can’t even take a simple order without screwing it up.
Again, doesn’t he get it? He wants it all ways. He wants to come off as some everyman from the Bronx, the son of immigrant parents but treats people like dirt and sees himself in a class of his own. Get a clue, I would tell Weiner, work whatever charm you have with that stupid kid on the phone, or waiter or busboy or store clerk and when they screw up use humor with them, blow it off and tip well. You will find every order in the future to be perfect…no, beyond perfect! and every encounter with clerks to be enjoyable and fun. But no, that’s not who you are Weiner. You could not and do not recognize the real world. You thrive on angst and a sense of being inferior and put upon wherever you go.
    I don’t hate you. I pity you.

It drives me crazy the way so many people take things out of context and interpret them the way they want them to be said. It seems as if they have to attack someone, even if it is based upon falacy. Savage never said Autism didn’t exist. He never attacked the people who are truly Autistic. He merely called out a group of people in the psychiatry business who are inventing “syndromes” to both make money and to further the cause of “I Am a Victim, I Don’t Have to Assume Responsibility.”

Fred Johnson, if you are a regular listener of Savage you should be very mindful of what he declares on a daily basis. He makes it quite clear that he is a brilliant scientist. Are you with me, so far? And, more importantly, do you agree with my statement?
Now, when Savage speaks of fraudulent claims made by certain unidentified members of the medical community concerning their misdiagnosis of Autism in individuals his first breach in adhering to such a statement is basic proof.
Who is misdiagnosing individuals? How many in the medical profession are committing such dastardly acts of such quackery? What studies does Savage refer to that will expose the mad scientists from their perch so as to be held up to ridicule and have their license to practice yanked from their hands?
No, he offers no proof or evidence nor does he attach the many names it would require to unveil such rampant practices of which he speaks.

If you seek to criticize something or someone, in my opinion, you ought to look at the big picture first and get all the information, else you run the risk of looking like a fool.
While I hadn’t been listening to his show that day, I feel that Dr Savage’s intent for bringing this to light was to awaken the country to the mis- and over-diagnosis of certain mental conditions for whatever socioeconomic reasons. He likely did not intend to offend or discredit those with genuine disorders. The man who spoke out against this had either misinterpreted Savage’s words or took them out of context.

The old saw the truth will set you free could apply with Savage if he spoke the truth. He could either dismiss all of his critics with a wave of his hand or invite his critics on as guests so Savage could show his stuff. But, we know that didn’t happen and won’t happen.
So, my friends, this is not about Left or Right or those who want to tear down Savage. It’s about a self-proclaimed scientist who offers opinions rather than factual data. Scientists offering data can never…never…claim to have been taken out of context.
So, if you folks are behind Savage for his entertainment value, please, continue to enjoy what you hear. If you’re behind him because you THINK he speaks Truth then you have my sympathies.

Syzygy, 75 million? Where does that claim come from? Oh, I know Savage has this click and vote feature on his sludge site but who has the ‘nads to claim 75 million a legitimate number?
Consider this, if Savage has 8 million listeners off and on in a week and they all voted on his site how many legitimate votes should be counted? Eight million give or take maybe?
Oh, but we mustn’t count the left over 67 million votes for a few reasons. Number one, as any avid fan of Savage will tell you: “Hey, if you don’t listen to his show on a regular basis then you have no right to criticize him.” Well, isn’t the opposite true? If one is not a regular listener to Savage then what business do they have in voting FOR Savage?
Savage made it clear that you can only vote once…or, rather, he claimed his voting feature only ALLOWS you to vote once. Really? Does it really prevent you from voting more than once? Hmmmm? Really Dr. Scientist?
Any legitimate site would ding you with a generic: “Sorry, you are allowed to vote only once.” then boot you out.
This feature, if it does exist would prevent fans from multiple clicking. Also, as noted above, encouraging friends, family and spouses who are not regular listeners to go online and click “Yes” for Savage gives absolutely no legitimacy to any number that purports to support Savage…or the number of those who multiple click “No”.
So you see, Savage again proves to be a fraud using fraudulent practices to give the impression that he is the man in demand.
Think about it people, turnout for the presidential election usually averages about 60 million registered. Each candidate will get about half—30 million—and if Savage has 75 million people voting for him then what’s to talk about? He should move into the White House tomorrow! Further, Savage claims to have a whole 15 million votes above and beyond the actual people voting in the General election and, not only that, he claims to have every one of the 60 million votes that could possibly be cast in the upcoming November election. Wow!
Or, did I take his 75 million number out of context?

“What is the price-current of an honest man and patriot to-day? They hesitate, and they regret, and sometimes they petition; but they do nothing in earnest and with effect. They will wait, well disposed, for others to remedy the evil, that they may no longer have it to regret. At most, they give only a cheap vote, and a feeble countenance and God-speed, to the right, as it goes by them. There are nine hundred and ninety-nine patrons of virtue to one virtuous man; but it is easier to deal with the real possessor of a thing than with the temporary guardian of it.”
    Thoreau – Civil Disobedience
“No, I make no pretension to patriotism. So long as my voice can be heard on this or the other side of the Atlantic, I will hold up America to the lightning scorn of moral indignation. In doing this, I shall feel myself discharging the duty of a true patriot; for he is a lover of his country who rebukes and does not excuse its sins.”
    Douglass – If I Had a Country, I Should be a Patriot
“A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murder is less to fear.”

Who did Michael Savage meet with??
Check this link for the audio: http://www.talkradionetwork.com/savagearchive
August 1, 2008 about 20mins into the show.
He won’t mention who he had dinner w/ on Thursday, said that person (young man) loves America and is on the front lines of the internet news business…. person has almost as much influence as Hearst.
Could it be Alex Jones (infowars.com)? No doubt both men are patriotic. No doubt both men share opposing and controversial view-points. Cut to the meat of what both men are saying…. you will find that it is strikingly similar.
Liberal or Conservative, don’t be fooled into labeling yourself. Be independent!!! Think for yourself. Don’t be afraid to disagree with the popular view point, on either or both sides of the issues. Don’t be afraid to find common ground with those you disagree with. Stand up and be heard. It is time to take the power back from those who don’t really represent us and find common bonds with independent INDIVIDIALS.

Savage opens his show with a warning to “beware of psychological nudity.”
I read that before he became the champion of the right and darling of the conservative airwaves, he used to carry around a photo of himself doing a little skinny dipping with the late Alan Ginsberg. Wonder if he warned people he showed that to of homo-erotic nudity? Maybe he left more than his heart in sixties San Francisco.

I think Mr. Duke’s logic is excellent and likewise Mr. Savage’s. The comments regarding autism by Michael Savage are certainly correct as is the defense Mr. Duke offers. The problem is that those who are in the diagnosis business fear the truth Savage speaks, so they mis represent it to the people the have already victimized with their diagnosis business. Not only do they create “sick people” with their magic pens, they also do whatever possible to ensure there is “no cure”. The only “relief” is to continue their treatment regimen forever. Doctor Savage never said that the condition was not legit. He merely said, many people are being diagnosed with illnesses they do not actually have and that a lot of harm is being done to the mis diagnosed. The fact that the mis diagnoses are so disproportionate to reasonable thinking makes it appear that the mistakes are not made in true error but for ulterior motive less that decent. Those who in fact have a disorder as well as those who are simply told they have a disorder should all be angry with the lies propagated by industries causing such harm to human beings in exchange for money. Be real folks, anything that occurs in one out of 166 people must be common and therefore, within normal human range.

Michael savage is a decent caring Man. His comments regarding this is against the doctors who label many with autism or ADD when they should not be. I agree totally with Mr. Savage. Teacher’s who do not want to deal with lively children have them labeled and insist parents put them on medication. This children are like zombies. What happened to teachers who knew how to deal with children and manage to teach??
Parents should be very careful about this and perhaps get a second opinion. I know Mr. Savage would be very sympathetic of children that really have autism, this is a terrible condition, but I still agree that the diagnosis is very much over-used.

The Savage man is on to something…….
    Define it-
well, several people and myself during the 90’s worked with multiple disabled children and state owned adults. The older ones, the state owned adults- u know the ones that were put into large cage like room facilities in the 7o’s, like cow herding…….
(unlike today care for multiple disabled individuals is prefaced with “no boundries”, imagine the possiblities etc – )
the focus of our work was Art/music therapy NON ACADEMIC physical/occupational settings!! (very important)
the point. – children that were state owned and had “behavorial” issues- were control all day with “medicines”.-
Don’t forget the direct care workers were paid minimum wage to be with these folks through three shifts-
While annually, the interlocking director and board members give out bonus to themselves through donations and purchases-
Yes all the folks working with MFA’s and all the credentials thought it would be easier to maintain a direct care ratio of 3:1 or 4:1 ( one direct care person for every three multiple disabled adult or one direct care person for every four m.d.adult)
with daily programs paid for by the state(STATE OWNED)
The multidisabled adults that were labled Autistic were in a non creative controlled doping routine.
    85 persons X 10.00 a session??
prior to being entered/access to the our program, entrance interview with social workers multidisabled adults displayed
a very cognitive creative state- appeared responsive-
    another point-
On the attempt “to take the savage ship out of the sailing harbor”
the critics and main stream media watch dogs – they forget about all the money that needs to be made in order to provide a institution-
control through doping is one of many keys to unlocking the treasures of money in state owned babies and adults.
this was just a brief incite into the world of the multiple disabled adult- the ones that cannot speak about the truth.

Dr. Savage, speaking about anyone, disabled or not, in negative terminology such as, “brat,” and, “idiot,” does not endear you to people. Making generalized statements against persons with disabilities, of whom there are millions of in this nation, does not endear you to them. MORE HUCKSTERISM FROM SCIENTIST DR. MICHAEL SAVAGE
On Savage’s home page he has this glaring proclamation claiming: “Outrage!! BILLION- DOLLAR DRUG COMPANY DISCOVERED A CURE FOR CANCER…AND TOLD NO ONE!!”. In glaring red is the promise to “Learn the truth here” which purportedly…the operative word to remember…promises to unmask the dastardly evildoers behind this purported cover-up.
Like the true carney that he is Savage draws his crowd of suckers into the tent with the titillating promise of revealing the truth behind, yet another headline screaming out that: “For seven years a major U.S. pharmaceutical company knew of an astounding cancer killer–but decided to tell nobody about it…ever!!”
OK, suckers this is your last chance. You can leave now but once we close that curtain behind you no one leaves the tent until you hear my spiel.
After a pitch, amounting to over 6,000 words, there is a stunning revelation. What is revealed to the sap willing to buy into this nonsense is that not ONCE does Savage name the offending pharmaceutical company! Not even one time! Instead the huckster Savage fronts for some company that goes on and on and on about their herbal treatment that…here it comes again…purportedly “cures” cancer.
Savage uses the tried and not so true bait-and-switch technique that even Stevie Wonder could see through. It’s apparent Savage has nothing but disrespect and contempt for his listeners. He audaciously places what turns out to be nothing more than an ad featuring an equally audacious claim that turns out to be nothing more than a lie.
Anyone with credibility would have placed the word “ADVERTISEMENT” above the box in which this fraudulent claim appears but not Savage, no sir.
What man of science, I ask, would place himself in a position to have such claims made on his own website without demanding that the information at least pass the smell test? This, the same man who makes wild claims about “those in the medical profession” without coming up with the goods by naming names and exposing the actual medical institutions guilty of harming children.
You claim to offer Truth and…once again…you fail Doctorrr Savage. Or is it Doctor Wallichinski…I mean Weiner? You fraud. You are all that you hate. You doth protest too much, you little man. You little little man.
