A continual theme of the Barack Obama campaign has been his vow that
no one making less than $250,000 a year would get a tax increase. Now
he has provided more details, pointing out that to qualify for a tax cut you must earn less than $200,000. Then, on Tuesday, Joe Biden said during an interview
that tax breaks should go to “people who make $150,000 a year.”  My,
my, when Obama said he was the candidate of change, he never mentioned
that it applied to figures and campaign promises.

Wisecracks aside, Obama can credibly say his tax
plan remains the same, that he is merely providing some nuance and
Biden was simply being a maverick à la Sarah Palin and expressing the vice-opinion. But it doesn’t matter, because there is a dirty little secret of taxation.

It is no secret since 1935 we have been taking quiet baby steps toward socializim. The question is, at what point do we recognize we can no longer call ourselves a heavily taxed free market and must call ourselves a collective with some “freedoms.”

From Brother Walt…”It is no secret since 1935 we have been taking quiet baby steps toward socializim [sic].”
For the love of God, if the red underline in the note pad doesn’t alert you to a word you’ve misspelled, use spell check in Word then cut and paste. How do you expect anyone to take your ideas on socialism seriously when you can’t even spell it?

    HS,
Sorry I am not as used to spelling it as you. I’m sorry to say my spelling is a product of the system (the tenth plank of the communist manifesto). I would only be lucky enough to be home schooled.

    Walt,
I don’t want you to be sorry. I just want you to appear literate.

    Walt,
Your spelling and everything else about you (and anyone else for that matter) is a product of their own personal choice, effort and ability. Be an honest, God Fearing, Conservative. Take responsibility for a mistake. Be the first on your side to do it! That is, unless you feel it necessary to speak a form of Caucasian Ebonics.

That’s really pitiful when you have to resort to criticizing a man’s spelling to attempt to discredit him rather than address what he said. Your comment was the classic illustration of an ad hominem attack. Typically used when the truth hits home.

    Janice,
Come on, if the guy can’t spell socialism and is too dumb to use spell check, then he shouldn’t inflict his views on anyone. If I had Walt’s money I could hire someone to take dictation. At least if he did that, he wouldn’t look like such a pompous air bag trying to weasel out of a typo when he pontificates on “socializim.”

It is a sad day when a typo is the issue. I admit I am not perfect, and I have made a math error or two in my day, and even burned some toast once. It is just another typical liberal distraction technique. Saul has taught you all so well.

    Walt,
It’s nice that you’re reading Saul Alinski and not getting all of your information from Google. (The question is do you understand him?)
Your typos aren’t the issue here; it’s your understanding of the issues. More to the point, it’s your capacity to understand those issues. Coming from your position of advantage, I don’t think you can. The disconnect between your status and that of the average American is too great.
You’re invested in the status quo. And that investment does not stem from a simple recognition of the common good. You don’t care at all about the common good. You care about preserving what is yours…nothing more.
So, when you lay-it-on-thick, like you tend to do when you talk about socialism, you really show your colors. (And please, even though this is the cornball platform for the nation, come back and say they’re; red, white and blue.) Your true color is green.

    Janice,
That’s sweet! “Stand[ing] by Your Man,” and all that country-western, cornball, baloney. (I guess you are fairly rural out there in the land of potatoes and armed militias.)
But seriously, what is “pitiful,” is that Walt rates an ad hominem attack. He deserves it. He’s an intellectual poser. A guy who comes to the table with a litany of worn out ideas and failed notions. A parrot in blue jeans, so to speak, squawking out the right-wing pabulum he picks up from the venerable Herr Doctor Michael (Liberalism is a Mental Disorder) Savage, our friend Duke here, the J.B.S., and probably the Born Again Witch Doctor he visits on Sunday.
But, it is nice that you choose to go to the mat for your man. You seem to have done a lot better in school than Walt. But, with all due respect, I would hope that he could take care of himself.
