If the Chinese need any help with their crackdown
on the Falun Gong religious group, perhaps they should try to recruit
San Diego County bureaucrats. Because if a recent attempt on the
municipality’s part to stifle Bible study in a private home in Bonita,
California, is any indication, there are at least some in its employ
who have missed their dark calling.

I am a participant in home Bible fellowships. This is how the 1st Century Christians went about their ministry. The word “church” is terribly misunderstood.
The word “church”, as used in the Pauline epistles, is translated from the Greek word “eklesia”. This term does not refer to a building with a steeple or cross on its roof. Nor does it refer to a demonination or sect, such as “the Roman Catholic Church” or “Baptist Church” or “Church of the Poisoned Mind”.
The word “eklesia” means “the called out”. The terms implies that a group is “called out” with unity of purpose. It could mean the starting five of a basketball team, who are “called out” in unity of purpose to open a basketball contest. In fact, in the Acts of the Apostles, chapter 19, verse 32, the word “eklesia” is used to describe an angry mob who had assembled after a meeting of union goons in Ephesus. In the King James version of The Holy Bible, the word ‘eklesia’ was translated “assembly”.
So what is my point? It was the practice of the first Century “called out” to meet in homes. Sure, you read many instances where Peter and John and/or Paul and Apollos and/or Paul and Silvanus appeared at synagogues, but they went there to preach to the faithful the glorious gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. In fact and in truth, they practiced their faith in homes, among small intimate groups. Western civilization owes its success to the results of this practice.
This is the real danger of what was attempted by San Diego beuracrats in the town of Bonita. Those of us who hold our Christian (or Jewish, or non-radical Moslem) faith dear must be ever vigilant for the future assault on our morality.
I reside in Sacramento County, California. We have in our county a troublemaker named Michael Nudow. Mr. Nudow is determined to erase God from the public sqaure, from our Pledge of Allegiance and our currency. The faithful of Sacramento should organize to gather around his home to sing hymns of praise 24/7 until he relents. I’m not holding my breath.

Somebody trying to stop a Church in San Diego? Outrageous! What we need in this country is more Churches. No…Actually we need more mega-Churches. You know, I can hardly drive three blocks anymore and not pass a Church. We need more religious TV programming as well. And more too on the radio. Damn it…What we need in this country is more prayer. Maybe a burning at the stake or two would put people’s minds right about the place the founding fathers set aside in our great country for religious freedom. And, if I feel like yelling out “Praise the Lord,” in Church or the frozen food aisle of the grocery store…Well, that is my inalienable right as a Christian American (as if there were any other kind.) So all you feeble-soiled-secularist be put on notice: The next time you see someone in rapture speaking in tongues, handling poison snakes or drinking battery acid; Recognize that for the sacrament it is. And should you hear anyone…anytime mutter, “Allah Akbar”…Just kill ‘em.
