Heavenly Hand Pulling Man Out of Fire By Selwyn Duke

First there were “inclusive language” Bibles, which extended a
bizarre form of chivalry to feminists with lexical peculiarities such
as “Our Mother/Father who art in Heaven.” Now, there is something
equally bizarre: a Bible illustrated with pictures of celebrities who
supposedly exemplify goodness and compassion. Writes Beliefnet.com:

Last year, a Swedish ad man named Dag Soderberg published a Bible made in the image of Vogue magazine. Called Bible Illuminated: The Book, it featured glossy images of models and artistic contemporary photography, and it caused quite a stir….

Now, a New Testament version is being
published in the U.S. featuring modern do-gooders Angelina Jolie,
Nelson Mandela, and — I’ll give you one guess — Bono.

I can hardly wait to see their new version of the Koran. I have a hunch they are not so brave.

” The more you read the Bible the sweeter He grows. The main thing is that the WORDS of God are not changed. The pictures are to be expected because God designed the WORD to be relevant to all generations and all nations. Yes, some may be objectionable but it is better to have that than people not to read the Bible at all.
The apostle Paul wrote in the New Testament letters that while he was in prison because of preaching the gospel message, some of the prisoners mocked him by pretending to preach. He was ecstatic that whether in mockey or sincerity, the WORD of God was getting out. The WORD of God is mighty to save our souls from destruction. MAN does not live by bread alone but by every WORD that proceeds out of the mouth of God.
We are ALL sinners and need the salvation which comes by repenting of sin and believing in JESUS CHRIST (The word of God made flesh) as our savior. That is the gospel message, didn’t take long did it? Now YOU have a decision to make, to obey God and live or live as you please and die and go to hell. The last idea was not from God, He wants us all to live but there has to be holiness. Holiness comes from God and we can not make it happen on our own. Separation from God and others is the ultimate end of sin. For the love of God, make the right decision. Nobody HAS to go to hell and all have the CHOICE to make. Thank, God. ”

    Dear Roger,
I applaud you for your grasp of God’s Holy Word and for speaking out for its glory.
I also appaud Selwyn Duke for his article. Logic and truth sing like a beautiful symphony and Selwyn Duke has an inimitable gift for expressing eternal verties in the language of the temporal in such a manner as to sing like a beautiful clarion that causes one to pause and take notice. Bravo, my friend.
    One final thought:
I may have missed it, since I do not watch television news, but I have yet to hear about radical right-wing evangelicals taking to the streets to riot, rend their garments and call for the beheading of Dag Soderberg.
Perhaps DHS Secretary Napolitano can clue me in.
