Man in Crosshairs By Selwyn Duke

If you're an avid reader of news and commentary, you've no doubt heard of the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC).  It masquerades as a "civil rights" organization — along with so many other pretenders — and it is perhaps the richest civil-rights con-job organization in the country.  I know, you probably thought the ACLU was the crème de la phlegm, but the SPLC is its eviler twin.  It was founded by Morris Dees, the mercenary lawyer who never saw a poor, downtrodden person he didn't want to help (except for the vast majority, off whose cases he can't make money) and whose claim to fame is that he broke some Klan groups about 15 or 20 years ago by suing them into oblivion.

Anyway, however good a litigator Dees may be, such abilities pale in comparison to his skill in hate-and-pass-the-plate marketing.  This is what I call his technique, which is to scare his cross-dressing donors in NYC and San Francisco with warnings about the rise of hate groups so that these marks will open the vault and fill his coffers to overflowing.  Thus does Dees love sensationalist stories featuring Swastikas, Klan rallies, bomb threats and all those other passions of a certain segment of the population.  The problem is, though, that since this segment is only about .00001 percent of the population, Dees always needs new bogeymen.  And now he has found me.

I have made it onto the SPLC's "HATEWATCH" page, where a Dees lapdog named Larry Keller has targeted my recent piece on the Rush Limbaugh/NFL controversy.  What has their panties in a bunch?  It's that I characterized the attack on Limbaugh as a lynching.  Apparently, the left wants to turn "lynch" into another politically incorrect term, one that can be used to refer to the criminal hanging of a black person and nothing else anytime, anywhere by anybody.  I suppose we have to forget about horse thieves in the old west and civil-rights lawyers tod . . . .  Oh, never mind, I was confusing fantasy with reality.

Here is an excerpt from Keller's piece:

. . . Selwyn equates a grotesque and terrifying death at the end of a rope
with robust debate over Limbaugh’s views, which Selwyn claims “are in
fact very mainstream.”

. . . Considering Duke’s other conclusions about the Limbaugh brouhaha, his
lynching hyperbole isn’t surprising. A frequent guest on hate-radio
host Michael Savage’s show and other far-right venues, Duke wrote in
the same article that Sen. Joseph McCarthy was “one of the most
maligned men in American history.” Limbaugh, he contends, is a victim
of a new McCarthyism in which “closet communists” are quick to call
their foes racists.

So let's see if we can figure out what Keller's problem is.  Perhaps he has never heard of metaphorical language.  I mean, I know it's not the stuff of Dees' legal briefs, where the party in the first part really needs his help and the party in the second part has to pay him gobs of money.  Regardless, it does exist.  And when people say that someone was "crucified" by the media, I, a devout Catholic, don't get all bent out of shape.

But perhaps Keller's real problem is a bit different.  You see, in August I exposed him as a propagandist who was engaging in fear-mongering about the threat of bigoted "right-wing" militias (the study I focused on was his handiwork).

Whatever the case, does the left want to gradually make all words verboten?  Perhaps we'll reach a point where we'll be reduced to communicating with grunts, clicks and ape-like gesticulation, which, incidentally, would suit the liberal agenda just fine.  After all, their ideas, if we can call them that, are based on emotion anyway.  So the less people can communicate, the greater chance they have of communicating their message.

As for the SPLC, it should worry less about hate and more about greed.  I mean, there's a reason why some call its founder Morris "Sleaze" Dees.  Not that I would ever join these critics in their characterization.

I just call him "Ka-ching."

And to understand Ka-ching's true nature, I strongly urge you to read the great exposé, "The Church of Morris Dees" by Ken Silverstein.  It's a great, great piece about a bad, bad man.  Here is an excerpt:

Dees's compensation alone amounts to one quarter the annual budget of
the Atlanta-based Southern Center for Human Rights, which handles
several dozen death-penalty cases a year. "You are a fraud and a
conman," the Southern Center's director, Stephen Bright, wrote in a
1996 letter to Dees, and proceeded to list his many reasons for
thinking so, which included "your failure to respond to the most
desperate needs of the poor and powerless despite your millions upon
millions, your fund-raising techniques, the fact that you spend so
much, accomplish so little, and promote yourself so shamelessly."

To really put this in perspective, consider this: Ka-ching's whole legal staff quit in protest in 1986 because of his preference for making money over actually helping the people about whom he claims to care.  And this really is striking.  I mean, liberals aren't exactly known for being fonts of moral clarity.  So how sleazy do you have to be to inspire a whole team of liberal lawyers to resign in protest?

But 1986 was a long time ago, and Ka-ching has either honed his hiring criteria or is simply benefitting from an even more degraded left.  After all, he does seem to be retaining staff now.

Are you listening, Larry Keller?

Congratulations Mr. Duke, you have made the SPLC’s “hate” list. This is to be considered a mark of honor showing that you seek the truth and are unafraid to speak it. Keep up the good work and God Bless!

Oh boy Selwyn you just gave the left loons more to come after you with when you said, “…we’ll be reduced to communicating with grunts, clicks and ape-like gesticulation,…” Don’t you know how insensitive that is? There are still cultures to this day that the click is a part of every day conversation. The left takes great pains seeing that these cultures are not polluted by western influence. The nakedness, tribal infighting, incest, and dehumanization of women are seen as puritanistic to them. And you now mock the click. Soon the word click in the context of your story will be non-PC. As far as ape like grunts…have you ever watched an Obama press conference without a teleprompter? The Unmmms, and aaagghhs are an evolutionary equivalent to an ape like grunt. Dodd is even worse; perhaps he is not as evolved.

    Shaun,
Yes indeed! It is a “mark of honor” to be included on a list that includes the KKK, NSM, Council of Conservative Citizens, Aryan Nations Revival, and one especially for you…Women for Aryan Unity.
Why don’t you try to get your name on this list, patriot boy:

Ed, the splc also has focused on Michelle Malkin, Ann Coulter and the great Michael Savage. They basically criticize anyone that doesn’t lick their lips like a reptile and worship Mao.

    John,
I guess I would lump Malkin and the Savage Weiner in with that bunch. Can’t say anything about Coulter though. I was always taught not to speak badly of the undead.

Ok, that makes sense. Well, Im 28 and an ex marine vet.I got out as an E5(Sgt). When I got out I met my wife and decided to return to school..but I see where you could get confused. In regards to the issue about race. Im not going to rehash my whole argument but I take a realistic aspect towards race relations. Its very unfortunate but it seems the more diverse a society becomes the more it grows apart and breeds conflict. You need not be a genius to see how divisive an issue this is in modern America. The reason I mock the SPLC is articulated by Selwyn in this article. They are a joke organization who target groups that disagree with the PC message. As for Morris Dees, he is nothing more than a spineless whiny little bitchh. Of course, I think the same thing about most lawyers.

Look you may have your own personal fights with people from the SPLC however thay have done some good stuff in exposing the Timothy McVeighs and their associations. Yes I also thought that using macarthy as an example of a victim was way out of base but no one is stopping you arguing your POV.
PS who ever worte the crap about clicks, let me take you back to reality for just a second. The primary speakers with “click” are the bushmen of the khalihari. They are very interesting society. Despite the revolting formation offered here, they are actually a pretty nice culture, NOT sexist, not violent and offering a gentler version of the world than most christians.
So to the nasty person who described them as undressed savages F*k you! at least learn about the human beings you are disparaging, fool.

The NFL decides who becomes an owner not the other way around.
All this blowhard (Rush Hudson Limbaugh A.KA. Jeff Christie) has to offer is his money and his opinions, (which in my opinion are on the fringes of racism, one mans opinion). There are many more groups biding for the Rams, not just his group. Lets face it there are more men with money (Marshall Faulk) that will gladly fill the slot and the Rams will win or lose depending on how well they work as a team and not on whether or not Rush is an owner.
As for Vick, well he is a player (he has talent not like you, Rush or I, unless you are a NFL player?) and he served his time and the NFL decided we live in the land of second chances, so why not (I personally don’t like it but, oh well). Life has never been fair (NEWS FLASH!)
Now as to the “Free Speech” argument, I guess many of you like myself heard Rush on Thursday “Almost in tears”, priceless. But the last couple of days he now is in his normal ranting and will continue until someone surpasses him, “Free Speech” continues, so what is being stifled, it simply is not true, of course, you may not have a radio, so you might want to get one.

Isn’t Dees the scumbag who bilked Moslems out of tens of thousands of dollars through CAIR?
You know, the ones that were forced into silence or get NONE of their money back?
Just look at who the modern “liberal” defends and those whom they attack. Michael Savage is spot on in his observation that (modern) liberalism is a mental disorder. There is no other explanation for otherwise intelligent people to abdicate their faculties of reason.

I have just read the article by Ken Silverstein called “The Church of Morris Dees” that Selwyn linked to his article. What a scumbag!
One of the systemic problems inherent in the practice of law is that it is an industry that profits from the misfortune of others. This is not to say that there are not good lawyers who are virtuous. There surely are. But the industry in and of itself and by its very nature invites vampires such as Dees.
While leftists rail at so-called obscene profits by corporations such as Chevron, Exxon, Wal-Mart, you name it, why do they not equally rail against the more obscene profits of organizations such as Dees’ and its unholy sister, the ACLU? Could it be that all animals are equal but some are more equal than others?
I have read posters such as Yoyo and others decry Christians as hypocrites on the posts at Selwynduke.com. Mea culpa. Hypocrisy is germane to our fallen nature as human beings. It is inevitable that, at some point, we all are hypocrites. But this includes you leftists, too. The key difference is that when Christians (and Godly Jews, as well as moderate Moslems, and all ‘religious’ people) are shown to be hypocrites, we repent. We ask for, and in the Christian philosophy, are granted forgiveness and remission for our transgressions. We endeavor to learn from our shortcomings and continue on toward our goal of being perfected. We all know that this will never occur on this earth but it is in our attempt to become so that we experience our greatest joys and our lives’ most profound memories.
Secularist leftists have no fallback position. As atheists, there is no entity whereby their hypocrisy and its related sins might be forgiven or its consequences be remitted. This, to me, explains why their hatred toward, and urge to silence those of us of faith is so virulent and irrational. It explains why they childishly associate disagreement with hate, which is an extremely dangerous assertion as such association will lead to the enslavement of us all; left or right, liberal or conservative, religious or atheist by megalomaniac psychopaths like Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, Pelosi, Obama.
Atheists and the self-proclaimed “irreligious” are nothing of the sort. Allow me to explain: The term “atheist” is derived and transliterated from two Greek words, i.e. “a” and “theos”. It literally means “without God”. To claim to be atheist does not presume that there is no God. Rather, people who claim to be atheist deny God. The same way that I can deny that my electricity bill is due on the 15th. It does not change, in any way, shape or form, the reality that my payment is due on the 15th nor the consequences of my denial. No, the denial of God’s existence does not change the Truth that He exists, It follows logically that if and when you deny His existence, at some point there will be harmful consequence. And there will be; for it is written.
Those that claim to be atheist, agnostic or irreligious are deluded. In fact, you are for more religious than the most ardent Jesus-freak or Bible zealot. It is merely that your religion is secularism, which has no foundation whatsoever.
To any uncertain or independently minded observer, watch the reaction to this post and ask yourself who the real zealots are. Ask yourself, who is more “religious” and who is more intolerant.
