Greedy Man By Selwyn Duke

People such as George
Soros and Michael Moore certainly talk a good game, but the next Mother
Teresa they are not. Mother Teresa never criticized the free-market
system; wealth just wasn’t for her. Soros and Moore are quite the
opposite. They will never take a vow of poverty and dedicate themselves
to helping the poor. They just want our civilization to take a vow of
poverty and become poor.

This
has caused many to wonder: How can someone preach socialism while being
the most rapacious “capitalist” imaginable? Well, I have a theory about
this.

Okay, how can any one claim to believe in the free market and capitalism, while wanting the government to do everything it can do deny help to the poor and those down on their luck, creating a system where the rich get richer, the poor get poorer, and more and more of the middle class sink helplessly into poverty, which is what would happen if America adopted a system of pure, unrestrained capitalism?
Look, I don’t believe in Marxism and communism any more than conservatives, but capitalism
without a secure safety net for the unfortunate is no better. Right-wingers in America would like to weaken or destroy the already inadequate one we have now in America, and that would be catastrophic for millions here.
The claim that conservatives contribute more to charities than liberals is nothing but a cop-out of the most disingenuous kind. I’m all for charities, but unfortunately many conservatives delude themselves into thinking that they can provide for all those in need and that the government should keep out of helping the poor altogether, and that when it does this, it’s “socialism”. It’s not socialism, but good government.

“Look, I don’t believe in Marxism and communism any more than conservatives,”
Liar! Liar! Pants-on-fire! You surely do, as you demonstrate in each of your postings. You are simply too ignorant to know that you are.
“Right-wingers in America would like to weaken or destroy the already inadequate”
This statement is hallucinogenic. Robert, how DARE you speak for “Right-wingers”? In one sweeping (and incoherent) statement, you generalize approximately 58% of this nation’s populace (and in TOTAL error, I might add). I hesitate to reply to your remarks because they are so delusional and I have yet to witness you cite any facts to support your drug-addled claims.
“The claim that conservatives contribute more to charities than liberals is nothing but a cop-out of”
Au contrair, Roh-Bair. It is indeed a well-known and documented fact. Selwyn included these facts in his article. Perhaps the contributions that you make to the Peter Pan Society are a scam and that despite your capacity to evaluate facts, you really DID grow up. You simply have yet to face the facts.
“the government should keep out of helping the poor altogether,”
Hmmm… this seems to have worked for the first 160 years of our Country’s existence quite well. So well, in fact, that a rag-tag bunch of colonists developed into the world’s foremost SuperPower. Face the facts Robert: Government’s so-called New-Deal, Great Society and “War on Poverty” have galvanized and exacerbated (that means “made worse”) these problems. You obviously have not been to Detroit in the last 40 years.
“and that when it does this, it’s “socialism”. It’s not socialism, but good government.”
Take it from our resident expert. Socialism is good government? I know that this is not how you intended your statement, but the equation is the same. You are a socialist. Please enlighten us by naming ONE instance in the 6,500 years of human history where socialism has succeeded. I’ll save you the time: YOU CAN’T. Illegitimi non coverundum.
Kudos to Selwyn Duke for another great and hard-hitting article. I have read and own a great book by Peter Schweitzer entitled “Do As I Say, Not As I Do: Profiles in Liberal Hypocrisy” in which he factually and with evidence pillories the abject and despicable hypocrisy of modern “liberal” icons such as Noam Chomsky, Michael Moore-on, Al Franken-stien, Ted “Chappaquidick” Kennedy, HilLIARy Clinton, Ralph Nader, House Speaker Nazi Lugosi, George Soros (whom Selwyn rightly describes as the most evil man on earth), Barbra “Snotnose” Streisand, in-Gloria Steinham, and Cornell West.
My question to Robert and other modern “liberals” and/or “progressives” reading this is: When will you tire of believing the lies that delude you? Or is it that Dr. Michael Savage, PhD is prophetic in his declaration that “(modern) liberalism is a mental disorder”?

Slight problem using mother theresa as your pinnacle since her bestest mates included the murderous Papa Doc and Baby Doc Duvalier. As far as rich men being like camels going through the eye of a needle, I wouldn’t have thought that evil oligarchs who starved their people would be the normal constituency of a saint in the making, nor would I call them a great argument for unbridled capatalism, but hey right wing nominal christians can do no wrong.

Brilliant, I’ve been trying to wrap my brain around why wealthy celebrities preach socialism and now this explains it clearly.

Selwyn Duke could sell the devil a space heater. But, I’m not buying this one! If you want to test the generosity of a conservative, ask him how he feels about free health care for all; a guaranteed right to an education; even social security.
Well, they are not really against theses things per se. They are just against the government providing them. They’d be fine with one big United Way handing this stuff out to one and all; just as long as they aren’t forced to give a penny toward it.
It’s a philosophical objection really. They are very high-minded about this. And, they don’t make any false pretenses over it like the evil-greedy Michael Moore. What’s theirs is theirs. And that is damn well it. If you can’t claw it out in that most scared of all arenas…the marketplace…then when they bury you; it’s just nature tiding up the gene pool; which, as an example of God’s plan, they themselves would never tamper with.
Somehow, this just doesn’t have a generous ring to it in my ear. This is not Matthew 25:45 (?) in my mind. This is some kind of law of the jungle Americanized as a frontier code of false independence and vacuum self reliance. But, here’s the odd part of the equation. These throwbacks are generally nice people. Go figure…they would be twice as likely to help you change a flat tire on a dark country road as, say…Me.
But then again, I’d give you health care; your kids a free education (yea, I know somebody has to pay for it and that would be all of us together) and your grandparents social security.
It’s all in what you think is important I guess.

    Ill field those questions Larry.
    lets see.
    #1 Free healthcare to all.
Nothing is free. False premise. Do you do your job for free? Didn’t think so. Someone has to pay for it.
#2 Guaranteed right to an education.
Again, another false premise. Why is education a “right”? A “right” means you are entitled to something and if someone DOESN’T give it to you, they are breaching some sort of agreement or contract.
And you must have pulled this one straight out of your ass. What conservative says they are against educating people? Oh thats right… Nobody. The problems are that every year we throw more and more money at public schools, and they seem to do less and less with it.
    #3 Social security.
Again, straight from your ***. Conservatives aren’t against social security per-say, they are against it cause guess what….IT CANT PAY FOR ITSELF. Because its a ponzi scheme. It requires more and more investors (people having kids) to maintain it. And people are have less kids. Ergo, it cant support itself.
Ya, youd give us free healthcare, free education and social security……..using someone elses money. Sorry, but you and others legislating or decreeing it isn’t GIVING anyone anything. Thatd be like me writing a law saying all your groceries are free and Albertsons has to give you all your groceries for free. I didn’t give you shit, i made someone else give it you at gunpoint (which when all is said and done, is all a law is, coercion by gunpoint).
But ill take you up on that offer Larry. YOU give ME free healthcare, a college education and pay for me when im old. Oh, but whats the matter, cant YOU afford to GIVE ME all those things you said you would give to me?
    Welcome to the conservative party.

    Dear Larry,
I appreciate that you are a thinking man. Here is where you err:
    “free health care for all;”
My friend, NOTHING is free. Not even freedom itself. It was paid for by the blood of those who you go out of your way to oppose.
You also mention a “Guaranteed right to an education”. This thinking has been ruinous to our nation. It is a Leftist/Marxist subterfuge to dumb-down the populace and it has succeeded. If you are to be honest and evaluate the facts and evidence, test results and graduation rates have been on a nose-dive since Comrade Carter instituted the Department of Education. Simultaneously, students in private schools, charter schools and home-schooled children have thrived. Comrade Obama has appointed a “safe schools” czar who advocates despicable homosexual practices such as “fisting” to children as young as 12! One of his disciples has publicy advocated that exposure to sexuality and pornographic images is “healthy” for children as young as five! Surely you cannot condone such lunacy. Hopefully you can connect the dots and see how public/government oversight of education breeds corruption. It’s “free” money. All of the rats and vermin of society scurry to feed off it like maggots on a rotting corpse and their stench permeates until all but those that strive for moral virtue can detect its morbid odor.
You also refer to Social Security. This is a Ponzi scheme on steroids. Our nation prospered for 160-plus years without it. This was the bastard brain-child of a Socialist President (FDR) who did not intend to help Americans so much as he wished to amass power, as evidenced by his 3 re-elections and the Democrat stranglehold over our Congress for the ensuing 50 years.
I do appreciate your civility and your acknowledgement that conservatives really ARE kind, and helpful. I appreciate especially your flat-tire analogy, as it is in my very recent past that I helped a young Asian-American woman on a busy freeway late at night by doing just that. Interestingly, she offered me some freeze-dried noodle cups as recompense. When I demurred, she looked as though she would cry and said to me in her pigeon-English that it was important to her culturally that she offer (and I accept) something for my kindness. Knowing something of Eastern culture as a result of my Biblical studies, I reluctantly accepted. My darling daughter loved it.

It’s your old faggot lovin’ buddy, Larry Rivera…Not Hugo Chavez. I know we all look alike, but you don’t have any worries from me.
You can keep the double-wide and the pick-up and all the firearms you have buried in PVC pipe in the backyard. You’re not gonna have to share ‘em with anybody as far as I’m concerned.
I’m not talking about that. So, be mindful of the blood pressure and relax before your head explodes and sends your greasy trucker ball-cap into orbit around Neptune.
Dan, why type your fingers into angry bloody stumps over some question(s) I never asked? After all, this is the Selwyn Duke Boys Club… Ain’t nobody reading this stuff but the five of us anyway.

    Robert,
You preach capitalism with governmental restraints and controls as your ideal. That is not capitalism but actually fascism, but that’s another story. You constantly mention there are gray areas in everything and there is no truth or Truth…all is relative. Of course you know I am your polar opposite in that regard although I do not claim to know the mysteries of the universe. However since you don’t seem to be as red as a few here I will pass on this book recommendation so that it may help perhaps lighten or darken the shades of gray. The book is called “Capitalism; The Unknown Ideal” by Ayn Rand. The book is not a novel like some of Rand’s other works but a series of short essays. I promise you if you read this book or even some of the essays you will have either a new outlook or a better argument if you are sharp enough to properly refute Ayn’s premises.
    Cheers
