A number of definitions of insanity have been put forth over the years,
and a recent interview has inspired me to add the following: It is when
one is wrong over and over again but still expects himself to be right.

The interview was with a very worried man,
linguist-turned-social critic Noam Chomsky. His concerns? Among other
things, he said that he has “never seen anything like” what’s occurring
in today’s America and that we are now “very similar to late Weimar
Germany.” Yet the stuff of Chomsky’s nightmares is not ObamaCare and a
metastasizing federal government but something else entirely: Tea
Parties and middle-American angst.

    Great article Selwyn. For those who wish to learn more about the falsehood, that Hitler was a product of the right, read Sinisterism, by Bruce Walker. As to Noam Chomsky, Durante, Shaw and other fellow travelers, another great book that really gets inside their mind, and helps those with sanity understand how they could excuse the genocide of millions, read United in Hate by Jamie Glazov.

    I second Walt’s sentiment that this is a great article. Selwyn Duke’s recent writings are like a bulldozer on steroids. The bulwark of righteous indignation trampling the faux petunia garden of the sissies and homosexuals in the MSM who distort current issues and events to suit their facile agendas and proclivites even at their own grave peril.
    Noam Chomsky is a false idol of the criminally deluded. He is an ersatz “intellectual” and, worse yet, a phony freaking LIAR.
    Go to your pubic (error intended) library and see if they have the book “Do As I Say (Not as I Do): Profiles in Liberal Hypocrisy” by Peter Schweitzer and read the chapter on Chomsky, who rails against the so-called “evils” of captilism while simultaneously engorging himself on the very “evils” that he decries. It is the eptiome of disgraceful hypocrisy and an example to those of his mindset and of his ilk that you are woefully deluded (and that he, among your master puppeteers, is in on the game of gaming you)!
    Hyprocrisy: thy name is modern liberalism. Wake up. Grow up. Your infantile, false and effeminate hegemony has run its course.

    Yes, you’re absolutely right here. Chomsky is an arrogant,hypocritical idiot who has consistently been a shill for brutally repressive communist regimes.
    But the fact remains that there are many right-wing
    “intellectuals” who are every bit as arrogant ,hypocritical and idiotic. And they are bit as much a threat to freedom in America as the extreme left. But they’re threats in different ways.
    Yes, socialism,Marxism and communism are terrible things. But total laissez-faire capitalism in which there is no safety net for the poor and those out of work,business is unregulated to the point where it can exploit and harm the pubkic and despoil the environemnt with impunity and the rich get richer while the poor get poorer,and those of the middle class are constantly in danger of sinking into poverty is no better.
    And right-wing governments also give too much power to religion and greatly increase the risk of theocracy.
    I’m equally opposed to tyranny of the left-wing and right-wing kind. WE must have something which is a happy medium between the two.

    Point taken. I think all of us here would not support a theocracy or extreme right wing dictatorship. You should also understand that a true market system is free of force and fraud(to the best of our abilities). In a completely libertarian world an unregulated market would amount to a survival of the fittest which is no where near what we are today.

    The middle ground between dictatorial communism and laizze faire capitalism/economic and social freedom, is chaos; both economically and socially. The middle ground requires humans to dictate whose liberty needs to be infringed upon in order to give an unearned advantage to another. This safety net you speak of must not be administered by the government, but rather by the people directly; locally. The government merely enables failure, sloth and hopelessness by doling out OPM. For the past 60 years we have been living this middle ground and look where it has gotten us. We are a broke nation with entire generations of people groups dependent upon the labor of others. Your paradise would be wonderful if you could only get people to behave a certain way. You can do that by force or through conditioning, neither of which is compatible with freedom. Communism or even the lite beer version that we have been living with are incompatible with the human spirit.

    I reply: The error in your assessment is that, by your rebuttals, you seem to take sides based on labels (i.e. left-wing/right-wing). In doing so, your mental assessments are vulnerable to every wind of change in the public sphere and that which the unreliable mainstream media permits you to know. This is instead of knowing Truth and measuring information to eternal verities. This requires work. “Study to shew thyself approved unto God; a workman who needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” ~ II Timothy 3:15. Your thoughts are temporal, rather than eternal. Your sources of information from which you form your opinions are untrustworthy.     Prof. Chomsky is intellectually dishonest: it is well documented that Weimar Germany was totally occupied and corrupted by Zionists. There was no freedom of speech, no freedom of art. There was no need to “create” an enemy, it was present and robust. And today in equally occupied and corrupted America, Zionists, as they always do, put one group of people against another. They seduce Blacks with the promise of the “ultimate revenge” for the slavery, and they need illigals as another disruptive element in society. The planet would have been enjoying peace now, if not for Zionists, who apparently have no desires or volitions of second order (philosophers call such individuals Wantons). Prof. Chomsky, as a philosopher, among other things, knows this very well.

    The right-wing in America has been spreading all manner of lies,half-truths and distortions about Obama ever since he came to prominence,ridiculously labeling him as some kind of evi Marxist and communist demagogue who is out to turn America into another brutally repressive communist dictatorship and out to take all our social and economio freedom away.
    As well as a Muslim,a”baby-killer” and all that nonsense.
    He’s none of these things. He isn’t really a doctrinaire left-winger at all,and real ledt-wingers such as Chomsky and the late Howard Zinn and their ilk don’t even consider him one of their own or think much of him.
    But I’m extremely worried than in 2112,in the wake of the massive backlash against Obama and the paranoid fears of conservatives in America,a REAL evil demamgogue will emerge in America,a right-wing extremist and a religious fanatic who will seduce gullible conservatives with seductive rhetoric about “taking America back”(to what,the middle ages?),
    making us a “Christian” nation again, standing up to the “gay agenda”,”protecting the unborn”(until they’re born that is), reducing taxes,”protecting” religion,
    restoring “decency” to films and television,getting rid of welfare etc,
    getting rid of illegal aliens, restoring prayer to our schools,and all that.
    But the problem will be that this individual could actually turn this country into a right-wing theocratic dictatorship.
    We must not allow something like this to happen. Be warned. Mark my words. If you think Obama is bad….

    To begin,there are many right-wing extremist politicians in Washington who if they got power WOULD turn America into a rifgt-wing theocratic tyranny little better than Iran or Saudi Arabia. Maybe not as violent,but still awful. Among them are such odious people as Michelle Bachmann and Jim DeMint,to name only two.They are narrow-minded,intolerant and self-righteous people and they are a menace to this country.
    They are wolves in sheep’s clothing.
    There is actually no evidence that Obama’s mother was a communist,and whatever his father was or wasn’t is absolutely irrelelvant.
    His association with Ayers and Dohrn was limited to sometimes meeting them at university board meetings. The stories about him being a close follower have been shown to be total fabrications, as well as all the other communists etc.
    What Anita Dunn may or may not have said about Mao is also completely irrelevant and proves absolutely nothing negative about Obama.
    Obama attended a regular school in Indonesia,NOT a Madrassah as falsely reported.
    He HAS been called a “baby-killer”, which is nothing but a hysterically emotion-laden term which anti-choicers use to smear pro-choicers in general,and he did not vote to allow infants who survive abortions to be abandoned to die.This is a blatant lie.
    But occurrances like this are extremely rare anyway,and the vast majority of abortions are in the first trimester,before a fetus can even feel pain.
    And in late term abortions,doctors use anesthetics to prevent pian.

As much as I would like to see a far right government, I appreciate the wisdom our framers had in making a partisan form of government and separation of powers.
    Most of the complaints you have against the right are founded on hand wringing and emotionalism. Abortion is a crime to the right b/c we respect life. That is an unalterable principle. Even if we neglect the child after its born, this is no reason to take its life. Homosexuality, besides being an obvious health risk to the country with higher rates of STD’s, violence, drug use etc, its a violation of the institute of marriage. No one is persecuting homosexuals with legislation or the Constitution, people are fighting to preserve to institution of marriage. An institution we believe to be sacred and a blessing from God.
    However, I realize that trying to convince is near futile. In the many months that you’ve posted here I’ve yet to see you post evidence to support your claims. I realize that blogs and forums can be aggravating b/c nothing quite does it like live debates, but you at least have to support your arguments with evidence if anyone is going to take you seriously. Robert, you truly remind me of a child.

    They demand that poor or deathly ill women give birth to children whether they can afford it or not or it would kill them,yet don’t give a you-know-what about the unborn once they’re born,and want the government to end all helpt to poor pregnant women and the poor in general.
    They want the poor to”pull themselves up by their bootstraps” even if they have no boots.If you’re born poor or now down on your luck,tough noogies.
    They expect our schools to improve greatly through vouchers and school choice,but they fail to realize that there are only a limited number of good schools,and there aren’t enough to provide all kids with a good education.
    They constantly whine about “Christians being persecuted” in America despite the fact that there is religious freedom here for all,and no one is being persecuted merely for being a Christian.
    They demand a return to “traditional values” and “family values” despute the fact that these loaded terms are nothing but a code world for the government prying into our bedrooms and private lives in general,and imposing censorship on television,fils, and what we read,etc. They have totally unrealistic goals and expectations about marriage and the family,and extremely unhelathy attutes toward sex.
    They envision an America where there is no abortion,no
    homosexuality,no divorce or few of them,every child has two hetersexual parents,no pornography,not even tasteful erotica,and not even something as normal and healthy as masturbation,no one uses contraceptives,or has sex before or outside of marriage,even adults who have never nbeen married,and everyone goes to church on Sunday,watches G-rated films and television,there’s no sex education except abstinence only, we all have big contented families, our public schools have Christian prayer and Bible readings every day,even for kids from Jewish,Muslim,Hindu,Buddhist,atheist and agnostic families, and everybody lives happily ever after.

    Give me a break!!!! There is absolutely way to create a society lile this. None has ever existed or ever will. And if our government ever attempts to force society into this presposterously unrealistic mold, the results will be catastrophic for this great nation.

    The way you guys have been demonizing me here is quite amusing. In fact,I’m just a run-of-the-mill moderate liberal, and there’s absolutely nothing extreme or wacko about my views,which are quite similar to millions of other sensible Americans.
    And yes, this nation MUST be wary of the religious right.I have no problems with people being Christians,of whatever denomination, but the religious right is made up of a bunch of appallingly narrow-minded,intolerat and self-righteous people who think that they have all the answers,and that America must conform to their world views or else.
    The problem with social conservatives is that they have totally unrealistic goals and expectations about marriage and the family and extremely unhealthy attitudes toward sex.
    They want an America(and preferably,a world) where there is no abortion,no homosexuality,no use of contraceptives,no divorce or very few of them, no pornography,not even tasteful erotica, no sex education in schools other than abstinence only, no sex before or outside of marriage,even for adults who have never been married.
    They also want the government to pry into our bedrooms, and to censor books,magazines,films,television programs etc which they consider “indecent” or “obscene”. They want Christian prayer in our public schools even for students from Jewish,Muslim,Hindu,Buddhist,atheist or agnostic homes.
    They want religion to have too much power in America and to have undue influence on legislation, which would guarantee serious violation of the rights of non-christians.
    They want children to be brought up only by two hetersexual parents.
    And they want every one to have big,contented families,watch G-rated television and films,go to church every Sunday and live happily ever after.
    Jeeze Louise! Holy cow! Lah dee da! What a pretty fairy tale.
    But there is absolutely no way to create such a society. No such society has ever existed or ever will.
