Shell Game By Selwyn Duke

In a case of JournoList redux, mainstream media reporters have again shown that their business is propaganda, not news.  In a shocking voicemail accidentally left on the cell phone of Alaska GOP senatorial candidate Joe Miller’s spokesman, Randy DeSoto, journalists can be heard scheming to manufacture stories for the purposes of undermining the Republican’s campaign.  Reporting on the story, WorldNetDaily’s Aaron Klein writes:

the journalists can be heard plotting to "find" a "child molester" among the politician's supporters.

The reporters are also overheard hoping for violence against Miller so they can "send out a tweet" and Facebook alert that "Miller got punched" at a rally he held four days ago.

DeSoto says the voicemail message was later authenticated by McDermott [CBS Anchorage affiliate assignment editor Nick McDermott] himself, who sent a text to the Miller spokesman stating, "D— iPhone … I left you a long message. I thought I hung up. Sorry."

Well, he’s sorry he got caught, anyway.  But what he should be is ashamed.  In the audio, which is found here, a female journalista can be heard plotting to find a sex offender among Miller supporters and saying, “That’s up to you because you’re the expert, but that’s what I would do….  I’d wait and see who showed up because that indicates we already know something.”

In other words, they want to fool the public into thinking that they are just responding to a legitimate news tip as opposed to what they’re actually doing: trying to manufacture dirt on a candidate out of thin air — one day before the election.

One of the reporters is then heard giggling gleefully, which is followed by the female journalista excitedly exclaiming “child molesters!” as if she had experienced an epiphany.  A male journalista then requests, “Can you repeat Joe Miller’s…uh…list of people, campaign workers — which one’s the molester?”  And while his female colleague’s response is a bit garbled, the gist is clear: “You know out of all the people… [garbled portion’s meaning, ‘who show up on site’]… one of them will be a registered sex offender.”

Translation: At any large gathering, probability dictates that one person will be a registered sex offender.  So we’re going to find such an individual at the Miller event and then tarnish the Republican with guilt by association. Maybe we can even imply that he has no problem associating with “child molesters.”

Chock full of good ideas, the female journalista wasn’t done yet.  She then eagerly suggested, “And the one thing we can do is…we won’t know…we won’t know…if there’s any sort of chaos whatsoever, we can put out a Twitter and Facebook alert saying… ‘Hey, Joe Miller punched at rally!’  Kinda like Rand Paul — I like that.  That’s a good one.”

And you’re a bad one, hon.

By rights, every one of these “reporters” should be fired; they are guilty of gross journalistic misconduct.  But I won’t be any more surprised when that doesn’t happen than I am by the behavior itself, as it is all par for the course for the Shill Media.  After all, the Alaskan CBS affiliate was caught red-handed, but, in a different sense, the media are always red-handed.  That is to say, this case is simply a rare instance in which they got caught doing what they always do: peddling lies for the purposes of destroying political opponents, Soviet style.  These journalistas are, quite simply, evil.

The subject of voter fraud came up in Selwyn’s previous article and it has a corollary with this one.
Few people know why the controversy over the Bush/Gore race in ’00 happened in the first place.
ABC, CBS and NBC news called the Florida election for Gore at the close of the polls at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time.
The problem with this is the fact that much of the Florida panhandle is in the Central time zone and had one hour remaining.
Knowing that the Florida panhandle is largely Conservative and/or Republican, these miscreants called the election with the hopes that voters who heard that the election had already been decided might not bother rushing to the polls to wait in long lines in the last hour.
At the least this is journalistic malfeasance. At the best, this is treachery, treason and sedition.

This is one of the many reasons why I don’t trust ANYTHING the media presents on public news sources. Newspapers and TV news sources are hard to trust because the information is heavily biased and it doesn’t hold much water. The best way to get information is to cross reference sources on the internet and to have skepticism on statistics that are presented. It is sad today that people have to be so low to slander people and to ruin their reputation on information that is not true. What really makes me angry is that the “dirt” that is on them is true, what an insult to people’s intelligence. I am done rambling now, it is very soon for midterm elections and I hope that the right people are put into offices. I am keeping my fingers crossed and I hope God answers our prayers.

    Dear High School Student,
You are wise well beyond your years. This is nothing new. Please permit me to share this quote:
“For the great majority of mankind are satisfied with appearance, as though they were realities and are often more influenced by the things that seem than by those that are.”
~ Niccolo Machiavelli, “The Discourse” Book 1, Chapter 25.
Remember this and be the leader of your generation.

I read about this elsewhere, and in the comment section some people said and were agreeing with the premise that they felt bad for the people that did this then were subsequently fired for the things they said. They felt bad, FOR THEM? These weren’t off the cuff remarks that was just them expressing an opinion. This was them conspiring against a candidate. REPORTERS. Conspiring how they would make a story to smear a candidate!
This is one of the biggest problems with the US.
    #1 Reporters aren’t reporting.
#2 People don’t care about truth, they care about what they want to hear/believe.

Thank you Mr.Philip, I appreciate the compliment. I have but one question for any one that reads, how many reporters are there that actually report? When I mean by reporting, I mean actual reporting. I don’t want their opinion, I don’t want their synopsis, I want actual facts. If the reporter tells us the actual events that take place, the opinion should be made by the viewers. I don’t want a reporter doing the thinking for me. Is this true or just a misconstrued thought?

oops, I made a typo. “one that reads” should be “one that reads this blog”. Sorry for the mix up.

    High School Student,
You will not get reporting in the mainstream media, not even at FOX news. You must seek trusted sources for news that do not suit the “model” of newspapers, mainstream magazines and television. Evidence of this can be seen in how often the talking heads speculate and predict. This is the antithesis of “journalism”, whose root is in the word “journey” (the root of this English word are from the French words meaning “your day”). A journalist should never predict or speculate. A true journalist documents the pertinent facts of a “journey” and, as you have hoped, would allow his or her readership to draw their own conclusions based on the reported facts. This is non-existent in any mainstream source – their intent is to lead you toward their direction – which is a strategy of control.
To obtain real news and lucid analysis, go to talk radio. My most trusted source for news and analysis is Michael Savage. I admire and deeply respect Tom Sullivan. Dennis Prager is very, very good. I like Armstrong & Getty (you may have to find them via Internet because they are local Northern California hosts). They are less political and more tied to pop culture, but they are witty and can be wildly entertaining. Their callers will give you a sense of what “everyman” is thinking.
You are already in good hands by following Selwyn Duke. Selwyn is a master of logical thought and commensurate expression. Other Internet sources for accurate news and analysis are the following:
http://www.wnd.com (type “washington, ellis” into their search box.
Every Friday an op-ed piece is published by the great Jeffrey Kuhner at http://www.washingtontimes.com.
You should seek and subscribe to The Patriot Post by Mark Alexander.
Another wonderful source for news is Family Security Matters. I recommend that you subscribe to their daily newsletter.
The Thomas More Law Center and The Alliance Defense Fund are on the front lines of First Amendment rights. I receive updates from them regarding violence against First Amendment liberties that are deliberately concealed by the mainstream media. I give most of my available charity to these two organizations. Check them out. Your support, if only in your prayer life will sstain these valiant Christian soldiers and defenders of liberty for all.
Lastly, be on the lookout for articles by brilliant scholars such as Thomas Sowell, Walter E. Williams and Michelle Malkin. Ann Coulter is witty, but acerbic – yet she is nearly always right.
The conspicuous absence of talk show superstars #’s 1 and 2 is screaming at you. Rush Limbaugh is a brilliant man who is virtually spot-on in his reporting and analyses. I find him irritating. His pomposity is not a good example for a young man or woman like you who interfaces in the real world. Sean Hannity is a good man and I have attended a live event in which he was the headliner. To me, he is too simplistic and too many times a shill for the Republican Party. You appear to be a natural leader. As such, Hannity is beneath you. He is a cheerleader, and a very good one, but you deserve a deeper perspective than what he offers.
    God bless…

I’m not a fan of Al Gore, but I am of truth. And the truth is, all of the Florida panhandle is in the Eastern time zone with a small portion of western Florida in the Central time zone.
If we are going to succeed in defeating liberalism, socialism and all other ‘isms’, we must adhere to the truth, regardless of what we ‘think’ to be true.

Mr. Duke seems to be a man who prides himself in getting the truth out to the general public. Let’s follow his example.
Another fine article, Mr. Duke. Keep the Aspidistra flying!

“The Florida Panhandle” refers to that portion of Western Florida, not to the main penninsula of the state.

I stand corrected on the geography test. The tiny part of western Florida I mentioned above is in the Central Time Zone.
    Thanks, Caleb.
