Protesters-Obama Go Home By Selwyn Duke

In just the way some voters believed that Obama’s 2008 ascendancy heralded a new era of hope-and-change leftist hegemony, it’s easy to view the November 2 elections as the beginning of an unstoppable tidal wave of Tea Party triumph. But while I can get caught up in moments just like anyone else — I awoke bug-eyed after staying up freakishly late watching election returns — I always bear in mind that politics is but a series of moments and that, in reality, it’s only in places such as England that tea time is a permanent fixture.

For sure, the Obama-Pelosi-Reid Axis (which, lamentably, is still intact, although its shock troops have been decimated at the Battle of Midterm) put the fear of godernment into much of the electorate. Yet fear, like all emotion, is a transitory state. A cat may find itself fleeing from a donkey one day and an elephant the next.

And that was the difference this election: The independents who fled from the Republicans just two years ago ran from the Democrats last week. And while many want to view the results as a soulful sea change in America, the reality is that the same old patterns emerged.

It worries me when Selwyn Duke says that the new generation is drifting to the left. The truth is that he is correct. I just so happened to have watched an extra point film in my advanced American history class about approximately ten minutes ago. It was a documentary titled, Life in the Thirties. It was an interesting enough film enough giving the info about the political and social landscape in that time. I agreed with everything but with what it said about good ol’ president FDR. The hero for social reform, the creator of the New Deal. It mentioned how his ideas and programs that were supposed to bring the people out of the depression. I laughed to my self at these comments by the narrator. At this point scribbling down notes, I realized how different I think from a lot of the people at my school. The teachers (M.Ds and PH.Ds alike) and the student population for the most part are left-winged in nature. Now this is not necessarily a bad thing, some have valid points for their ideas and can back it up with viable proof. The problem is that many of them, especially the students, are the traditional drinkers of the kool-aid. What I mean by this, is that they watch CNN, Listen to NPR, or other similar media sources and take the info like it is. The scary part is that they don’t question it at all. What has happened to the generation today? Where is the skepticism that is needed so that people know that the people are getting the straight facts? The answer to both is quite simple, they either don’t care about the truth, or don’t want the truth. Some times the truth is too painful or too inconvenient to bear. That is why it is easy to go with the fluffy, do-what-you-want life style promoted by the left. This degradation of one’s self is the kind of generation that is perfect for the spoon-feeding given by the left. It is stripping my fellow peers of their ability to become leaders and to promote of individual thought. This is what is happening to my generation and this is they are lenient to the processes that the government is undertaking. We are in true dark times indeed if the new cannot carry out what needs to be carried out.

If any one is guilty of brainswashing kids it’s not our public schools, colleges and universities, but many religious conservatives who homeschool their kids and evangelical churches.
What they teach their kids is absolutely frightening. They teach them the ludicrous notion that God somehow chose a young girl in ancient Palestine out of the blue 2,000 years ago, impregnated her with his son so that he could be brutally executed to expiate for the sins of mankind,at least those who fall for this ridiculous notion, and that every one else, even if good people is doomed to eternal hellfire, and that Adam and Eve,a garden of Eden and a talking snake actually existed,as well as an ark with Noah, his family and two of every species of animal, despite the fact that those who wrote the old testament were aware of only an infinitessimally tiny fraction of all the animal species in existence, and all that childish nonsense.
And that gay people must be demonized and are doomed to hellfire unless they repent, and that they as Christians have the right to pry into other people’s sex lives, and that they have the right to demand that the government ban any book, magazine,TV program or film they find sexually offensive, that they have the right to harass and intimidate women who seek abortions,
and in general to be appallingly narrow-minded,intolerant,self-righteous,and ignorant.
That is the real threat to America, not Obama,Pelosi,Reid,Biden,
the Democratic party,Hollywood, television, pornography,Planned Parenthood, Universities, atheists, scientists, and all the other conservative bugbears.

Wow Bobbie, nice way to insult people’s faith. Also, percentage-wise hardly anyone homeschools and hard;y any of those people teach a literal interpretation of the Bible.
Oh, I never actually believed in a talking snake… not until I met you anyway.
I’m glad you’re not a liberal though. We know because you told us so.

I wasn’t insulting any one’s religion.I was just pointing out how ridiculous it is to interpret the Bible literally and how dangerous
    the religious right is.
And there are lots of religious conservatives who do home school their kids and indoctrinate them with their obscurantism and ignorance.

Spot on again Mr. Duke. Our political and cultural compass is ever drifting away from the Truth. Political parties will not reverse the course of our nation. Only a spiritual revival will work at this point.

Berger, I feel damn sorry for you. You remind me of a dog with rabies, slobbering and caged, striking at anything that moves. Of course you were insulting religion…or was it just Christianity. I wonder who you will call for on your death bed. Will it be Obama?
Or some other jack leg who is groping in the dark. From what I have read of your statements, you are unqualified to respond to a jackass…certainly not a student, no matter what school they may attend, or what philosophy they ascribe to. The axis of grief is Obama, Pelosi, Reid, Biden, and you left out one…Axelrod. If you have any assets, money,or capital of any form….they have and are robbing you. If you have worked for it, or earned it…it doesn’t matter…they want to “take it from you” and give it to those “don’t want to work” and feel you “owe it to them” for whatever strange reason. Once upon a time, a black Kenyan Muslim met a white atheist Marxist critical thinker student in a Russian language class at the Univ. of Hawaii. Since he believed in 100% taxation of the rich, communal ownership of land, and forced confiscation of privately owned land..thinking of problems in his conception of socialism..they struck up a fiery relationship. With her Marxist educated background, fully realized by her communist friendly parents, it didn’t matter to them when she found herself with child about three months before formally getting married to the Muslim. As the child grew, well doctrinated into the mosque and Koran, he hated his mothers race. Whether it was Frank Davis; the anti-American, anti-capitalist sentiments of his mother; Socialist Conferences at Cooper Union; Alice Palmer, Bill Ayers, or Bernadine Dorhn…through the help of the gifts from ACORN in the form of votes, newly registered or risen from the dead…he took on the mission of the anointed one, the messiah, el presidente. This country has been having “extreme problems” ever since. With or without religion, we are in dire straights…but only with religion will we be able to pull ourselves out of this mire of crap. Please try to be more constructive when talking to students, particularly to those who have their heads screwed on properly, as this young student does. God Bless him. And, I pray for your soul, Berger.
