When I think of modern America, conjured up is an image of a boxer who, while sometimes bobbing, weaving, blocking, and occasionally directing a blow with his right, intermittently hits himself in the head with his left. I also might then imagine how the other man in the ring would laugh upon witnessing the spectacle of an opponent who, inexplicably, does half his job for him.

The latest hard left thrown in our masochistic, self-flagellating land is the reaction to the Oklahoma constitutional amendment forbidding judges from using international or Sharia law when making decisions. First, and not surprisingly, a lawsuit was filed. The plaintiff was executive director of the Oklahoma CAIR chapter Muneer Awad, who claimed that the amendment’s targeting of Sharia violates First Amendment rights. This prompted U.S. District Judge Vicki Miles-LaGrange to block the measure by issuing a temporary restraining order that will remain in effect until a November 22 hearing. So, as is the modern American way, this issue will be hashed out in the courts.

More interesting, however, are the diverging reactions in the courts of public and pundit opinion. While most Americans are cheering the 70 percent of Oklahomans who passed the amendment, the left-wing media’s and fogosphere’s reaction is as predictable as the lawsuit: They are leveling accusations of bigotry against the good residents of the Sooner State. For example, Michael Stone at Examiner.com writes, “The law is an embarrassing absurdity that reflects an unflattering portrait of ignorance and bigotry on the part of many Oklahoma voters.” And NationalPost.com pulls no punches, stating right in a headline, “Anti-Sharia law in Oklahoma has smell of bigotry.”

Leftist secularism in this country is one of the many problems that really irritates me. I cannot pray in public because it is “wrong”. I mean we have the amendment of free religion, but we really don’t have it, or at least us Christians don’t. I remember when there was (and I think that there still is)the push to get rid of “God” from the pledge of allegiance. This is a good example of the many of the Christian traditions that are part of the foundation of this country that are being scrubbed out. To remove God from the pledge, would remove a big part of what the founding fathers stood for, What America stands for. Hey don’t get me wrong, I mean I understand that some people might not believe in god, but people that built this country with their blood, sweat, and their lives sure as heck did. To not be able to pray in public, but to dedicate foot washing stations using tax payer dollars!?!?! That is ludicrous! I mean if I wanted to make a holy water font at the entrance to my school, I would be shot down due to it “conflicting” with other people’s beliefs. The saying, “do what I say, not as I do” (I think this is the correct wording, but correct me if I am wrong) pretty much sums up the leftist mindset. I enforce my ideals on to you, but you cannot do the same to me because it is bigotry. What a sorry defense.

“The enemy of my enemy is my friend”. This is a leftist mantra. It is why liberals and leftists, including many Jews, uphold Islam as a sacred cow. This is despite the fact that radical Islamists would throw their corpses down a well after decapitating them and while chanting “Allahu Akbar”.
On the socio-political left, there are many agendas (Islamism, radical environmentalism, gun control, radical feminism, homosexuality, etc.). Their present goal is to weaken and ultimately remove the political right and social conservatism from public discourse and influence. If they are to achieve their goal and remove “Truism” (I will blame our beloved Selwyn Duke for being coerced into using this term) from public discourse; THEN the “fun” will truly begin.
Many of the previously mentioned icons of leftism have competing interests. So long as they have a common enemy (i.e. the socio-political right) they are friends. Absent that enemy, they oppose each other.
For example, radical (and even moderate) Islam abhors homosexuality. Its punishment is quite gruesome. Absent the values of the socio-political right, which rightfully values ALL human life (even that of homosexuals) they (the Islamists) would be unleashed and unrestrained to impose Sharia on homosexuals and feminists. Absent their enemy, there is no need for friendship. History has demonstrated that radical Islam is quite effective at getting their way (see Egypt, Persia, North Africa, the Biblical lands of Asia Minor and now Europe).
History is on my side. During Adolph Hitler’s rise to the seat of Chancellor of Germany in the 1930’s, he employed radical and “butch” homosexuals, led by Ernst Rohm, as his intimidators and enforcers. These were his SA and commonly known as “brown-shirts”. Hitler wanted little to do with the long-term interests of these severe moral defectives but they served his early purposes (the enemy of my enemy is my friend). Having achieved the Chancellery, Herr Hitler no longer had need of this group of maniacal psychopaths and (correctly) perceived them to be a threat to his power and influence. He then had them disposed of and dispensed of in what history recalls as “the Night of the Long Knives”.
History is repeating itself. I can build on this position by going back to the debauchery of the Weimar Republic and its parallels with our present media and Hollywood and relate it to the weakening of public opinion in pre-Nazi Germany to our present state in the USA. I could show direct parallels that the leftist/liberal willful blindness of radical Islam and what it portends is akin to the rise of the Third Reich and I can, with accuracy, predict what the results will be: the liberal/leftist will be the first and the most to suffer.
Please enjoy your next airport body-scan and/or sexual assault. You may thank the practitioners of “the religion of peace”, who will NEVER be subject to such invasion, for the “jollies”. You may also thank DHS Secretary “Butch” Napolitano, whose policies mirror the opening statement of my post. Happy Thanksgiving.
