He May be a Dog, but Weiner Will be a Winner in 2012

New York Congressman Anthony Weiner’s sexual impropriety sure does make titillating copy. I mean, take his zipper-like stature, the nature of his transgressions, and combine that with his name, and you have the perfect running joke. And we can add to this a touch of irony. The following is still found on Weiner’s website:

Protecting Children On the Internet — In early 2007 my office did a study that found that over 85% of registered sex offenders in New York City live less than five blocks from schools, and 670 sex offenders live within just two blocks. Some offenders are even closer, permanently residing less than 500 feet away from unwitting parents, educators and children. Along with several colleagues in Congress, we introduced & passed the KIDS (Keeping the Internet Devoid of Sexual Predators) Act of 2007.

Now, a fellow journalist who used to reside in Weiner’s neighborhood informs me that the congressman’s home “is about two blocks (less than 100 yards) from Our Lady Queen of Martyrs (Catholic) School and about five blocks (less than 300 yards) from Public School 101” and asks, “Does this mean that Anthony Weiner — by his ‘own’ law — will have to register with the police?"

    I’m sorry but the lack of an actual affair or visit to a prostitute makes it hard for me to roast Weiner the way everyone else has. In fact, his behavior was only a degree worse than sexual innuendos, verbal or written. Name me a man, Selwyn, who hasn’t thought it was acceptable to be sexually inappropriate whether the female recipient of the remark thought it was funny, acceptably flirtatious or not. And name me a woman who hasn’t been approached by a man who decided his being married was no obstacle to making sexual advances in person or online. The guy is no more a sex offender than a married man who hangs out at bars looking to score.
    Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.

    Rockin Robin,
    I think there are plenty of women who refuse married men. I also know that I see beautiful women every day and I don’t entertain the thought of permiscuity, and yes I am married.
    Beyond that, He is a public representative and as such is held to a higher level of accountability. Although as Selwyn abundantly points out, the moral barometer of the US sinks to a new low every year to where people are “understanding” when our political leadership has a scandlaous affair and then lies to the public about it. After all, he was just looking for some “strange” right?

    The Winner took a picture of his winner and posted it on line; I don’t know what world you live in but in the world that I live that’s just flat out sick. Nor do I know anyone that would enjoy getting that kind of a picture sent to them. The guy is a pervert!!!

    Weiner is just a beard for Huma. When is the MSM going to report on it.
    Hillary had to find a beard for her lover, and he was the only chump sleazy enough to do it. Obviously, the deal was the he’d get the Clinton’s endorsement when he ran for Mayor, and access to their donors.
    And if you believe Huma is pregnant, I have some land in Florida I’d like to sell you.
    Plus, since he was just a beard, he had to find other outlets for his needs. He didn’t want togo the Spitzer route and dating other women wasn’t an option. The truth will set him free. If he tells the truth he won’t seem weird.

    I sense something’s afoot here too, TK. Weiner is my age which means he should be a bit backwards technologically and also not accustomed to having his naked body parts photographed. I also know a bit about interfacing with Muslim culture. The marriage between Huma and Anthony doesn’t seem like it should exist unless she converted to agnosticism or judaism or he converted to Islam.
    There must be some agenda here. This guy couldn’t possibly have been that stupid or horny. I’ve been trying to figure out what kind of message is being sent by what has to be the fabrication of this story. Have you not noticed the extreme reverence for Huma which is in stark contrast to the freedom with which many people blamed Maria Shriver for Shwarzeneggar’s misbehavior?
    My evidence: the improbability of a marriage between a muslim and a non-muslim esp a Jew; the extreme stupidity of Weiner’s behavior, married or not; the fact that the guy wasn’t pilloried for similar behavior in the past several years before his “marriage”. Come on, he’s nearing 50, the T levels should be way down.
    Pivotal in my theory would be Weiner’s opinions on Israel. It’s very damaging that as a rather unique instance of a Jew marrying a Muslim, Weiner has publicly humiliated his wife. Or maybe there’s a more altruistic intent for Huma to model great forbearance at the misbehavior of a Jew?
    IMO, this marriage combined with this scandal can’t possibly be all it appears.
