Nobel Laureate: World Needs “Secular Ten Commandments” and Universal Values

Old utopians may die, but utopianism never does fade away. While
speaking at a summit of Nobel Peace Prize winners in Warsaw on Monday,
Nobel Laureate and former Polish president Lech Walesa added Modern-day
Moses of Magog to his résumé, advocating a “secular Ten Commandments” as
a basis for universal values. Said Walesa, “We need to agree on common
values for all religions as soon as possible, a kind of secular Ten
Commandments on which we will build the world of tomorrow,” reports France 24.

Ah, “build the world of tomorrow.” Somehow that reminds me of WWI
being “the war to end all wars” or, to cite intended fiction, the
paternalistic android in an old Star Trek episode that summed up his purpose in dominating man by saying, “And you will be happy … and controlled.” Captain Kirk was not amused.

    The Nobel Peace Prize seem to have a “something” that makes the winner to become a complete moron. Or maybe, to be a complete moron is a condition sine qua non to win the Nobel Peace Prize.

    The notion that you can only be a good or moral person if you are a bible-believing Christian
    is absolutely idiotic . Religion has nothing to do with morality ; it is entirely about brainwshing and controlling people , gaining power over their minds and pocket books .
    While most religious people are not evil or malicious, many ARE , and most atheists and agnostics are good people . Stalin,Mao Zedong and other communist tyrants were not monstrously evil because they were atheists but becuse they were profoundly evil men in the first place .
    Phil France, your claims about Al Gore and Obama are idiotic, and you don’t know what you’re talking about, as usual . To compre them to Yasser Arafat, a genuinely evil man, is idiotic.
    But then again, you are an idiot . You don’t even know what Marxism is .Like a typical right-wing American doofus, you use the terms socialist, Marxist nd communism in an extremely loose way to describe anyone who doesn’t share your stupid right-wing extremist views .These are just meaningless buzz words today . They’ve lost all meaning .

    Robert, if you do not see the link between religion and moral, then you do not know a thing about neither.
    If you do not see the link between secularism and the destruction of the moral tenets of our modern civilized world, derived from the 10 Commandments given to us by God, then you are richly adorned with the same trait you are using to describe us.
    Liberalism, Socialism, Communism, Marxism, and every other “ism” are simply marketing strategies to sell the only product the utopians are capable to bring forth, a tyrannical state.
    Have you ever read the classics of Marxist theory and practice?

    Communist dictators were nto evil because they wer atheists, but becuse of their own intrinsic evil . Many religious leaders are or have been murderous tyrants, too . Richard Dwkins may be an atheist, but he is in no way evil . I repeat – being religious is no guarantee of being a good person .

    Hitler, Stalin, Mao Zedong, Pol Pot , were all evil . The “reverend” Fred Phelps hasn’t murdered anyone as far as we know, but he’s definitely evil . Christians who foster hatred of gay people. spread lies and disinformation about them, and who want the government to imprison or execute them are
    evil.
    The Catholic church in the past was responsible for killing an enormous number of people,
    Protestants, Muslims, Jews, hetetics,homosexuls, women accused of being withces , etc , burning, torturing and drowning so many people . I repeat -believing in God and being a Christian is no guarantee of being a good person .
