In recent times, there has been a development quite odd and unprecedented in the annals of the sexual “revolution.” When America’s traditional sexual mores started to break down, it always took the form of slouching toward “tolerance.” For example, consider fornication. Two unmarried opposite-sex individuals cohabitating was once known as “living in sin” and was not something any couple could do in their community. But as pedophile Alfred Kinsey’s fraudulent science and the phenomenon whereby, as Confucius said, no one likes “virtue as much as sex” eroded moral barriers, this started to change. And then one thing led to another, people did their thing, and, over time, tolerance resulted as a matter of course (I’m not implying this is a good thing).

Now, notable here — notable only because of the aforementioned development — is that fornicators never called for government benefits; they never beat the drum for civil unions. They never started lobbying groups. And the worst those objecting to their practices were called was prudes or Puritans; no one ever thought to brand them bigots or make “Forniphobe” a repeated-to-staleness neologism. And, of course, anyone who hasn’t been asleep for the last 20 years knows exactly what I’m analogizing here.

Selwyn, I’m afraid these little exposés of yours aren’t enough. You need to learn yourself some philosophy and make a rational case for sex only within marriage, against homosexuality, etc. The fight to the death is, I hope, a metaphor; you are not actually going to slaughter gays with a Gatling gun in Manhattan (or Moscow for that matter), are you? Anyway, your only real weapon is reason, and that’s what you (and I, if I feel like it), and other Catholics should be using to bring today’s society to its senses.
Peter Kreeft has been doing a bit of good work here. (It appears he’s selling his lectures now, though.)
Certainly, there is no reason for society to send the message that all or even most forms of sexuality are healthy or virtuous or even pleasant. The problem is that the “perverts” of all parties have been asking “Why not?” for so long and without any response from traditionalists like you that everyone now feels the question has no answer and is 100% rhetorical. This is what needs to change. I mean, do you feel not up to it to do moral philosophy? I’d like to encourage you at least to try. You should prove “why.”

There is no virtue in the weak man. As the poet said, “Virtue is being quiet and strong”
For people asking for moral arguments against sin, Socrates had the answer. If you don’t know Christianity, or if you are afraid of the public backlash because of your arguing from the Christian perspective, in Socrates you have a very good starting point.

America is not a theocracy Selwyn – GET OVER IT . Just because YOU and other right-wingers in this country are “opposed ” to homosexuality and opposed to gay rights does not mean thatyou have the right to demand the government to deny certain people rights based on YOUR religious beliefs .
Obama hs NOT “imposed ” same sex marriage on this country . There has been a movenent for many
years to allow it and he has the decency to support it .
In the past , gay people in America lived in fear of being discovered , fired fromtheir jobs,
disgraced and ostracized fromsociety . It was common forthemto be sent to mental institutions
to be “cured” of their homosexuality with brutal electric shock therapy and even lobotomized .
We cannot and must not go back to the bad old days .Denying people rights merely for being gay
and even persecuting them is WRONG .
The claim that Alfred Kinsey caused the sexual revolution and a decline in morals in this country is
poppycock, and there is no proof he was a pedophile. He merely did research on human sexuality and
published the results . Some of his statistics may be inaccurate , but he did absolutely nothing to
encourage pedophilia or other sexual offenses . Blaming him for any sexual misconduct in America is as idiotic as blaming the weatherman for bad weather .
Some people have always been guilty of sexual crimes . Kinsey is not to blame for this .
There has never been a time in America where everyone lived a life of pure chastity and everything was hunky dory .
But homosexuality itself is NOT immoral as long as it is between consenting adults in private .
Selwyn, you are a typical prudish ,puritanical ,uptight ,self-righteous , sexually repressed right-wing Christian busybody with your head up your behind , that’s all .

Eventually sex will have no meaning. It will just be masturbation with someones elses body.Intimacy and love will no longer exist and you will be just like dogs, doing it in the street because you can’t help yourselves.Oh yeah you will not be humans anymore at that point.Compared to your ancestors you are barely human now.
