In the beginning, the homosexual agenda was about the right to be an “out” homosexual without government interference.

Now it’s about using the government to prohibit efforts to get out of homosexuality.

And the latest attack on this front is the ominously named “Therapeutic Fraud Prevention Act” (TFPA), which would ban same-sex-attraction and “gender identity” reparative therapy. This is psychological counseling whose goal is to help people mitigate or eliminate unwanted same-sex attractions or the phenomenon whereby a person’s perceived sex doesn’t match his actual one.

The TFPA was introduced in Congress today by Representative Ted Lieu (D-Calif.), who authored his state’s 2012 ban on reparative therapy. After the Golden State’s action, D.C. and New Jersey (with Governor Chris Christie’s signature) followed suit in prohibiting the therapy, and a similar ban is in front of openly bisexual governor Kate Brown of Oregon.

There is no such thing as an “ex gay “. Homosexuality IS inborn and all so-called ex-gays have been BRAINWASHED . This is extremely harmful to children and teenagers and SHOULD be illegal. “Therapy ” to “cure” people of their homosexuality IS a fraud and should be illegal for people of ANY age .
All so-called “ex gays” invariably revert eventually to their homosexuality .
Homosexuality is no more a mental illness than left-handedness . It is not a personal flaw or immoral .
Homosexuality is NOT a choice any more than left-handedness or eye color . I’m a straight left-hander. Did I “choose” to be a southpaw ? Of course not . This is just what I am and will always be .
Selwyn, when did YOU choose to be a heterosexual (assuming that you’re not a repressed or closeted gay man, whichyou very well may be .) It’s a well known fact that the more hostile you are to gays , the more likely you are to be a repressed or closeted gay person yourself .

Gender preference is a personality trait. Personality is “what I am”, the nature v nurture aspects being researched and debated for a long time. To say that this personality trait is outside the bounds of psychiatric counseling is to suggest that any personality trait is off limits to counseling: No more anger management.
And Amendment 14 requires all laws to accommodate all personalities. It will be interesting to see how that works out.

This proposed legislation is an outrage. I surmise that its true intent is to “out” its opponents by their votes, whereby they can be targeted as “homophobes” by the homosexual mafia.
As a young man and a youth minister, I counseled a boy named Paul with homosexual proclivities. I led him to the Lord Jesus Christ, the New Birth and to the Word of God. He is now happily married to a beautiful woman and has two adorable children (and, hopefully, yet more on the way). For this I should be jailed?
Years ago, one of the Marxists in the SDS (I don’t recall if it was Rudd, Ayers, Dohrn or someone else), in a moment of rare candor, said “the issue is never the issue; it is always about the (Marxist) revolution”. This is true of every icon of modern liberalism, be it abortion, global warming, gun rights,Darwinian evolution, racsim, atheism, ad infinitum. To this I say in rebuttal: Be careful what you wish for.

    Hi, Philip,
It’s great that you were able to help that young man. As I illustrated in my article, the proposition that anomalous sexuality is always fixed at birth is silly and unscientific on the face of it. And the leftists acknowledge this when their guard is down. After all, why else would they refer to Bolshevik Bill de Blasio’s wife, Chirlane McCray, as a “former lesbian”?
    They always give themselves away.
    God bless,
