• As Nuclear War Looms: Does Russia Have a Right to its Own Monroe Doctrine?

    Nuclear BlastBy Selwyn Duke

With news that Israeli intelligence has detected an “irregular presence” of nuclear-capable Russian bombers near Finland and retired general David Petraeus casually saying NATO would likely sink Vladimir Putin’s Black Sea fleet if Russia used a tactical nuclear weapon in Ukraine, it’s perhaps time for a few questions:

First, can we discuss a situation that could very well result in thermonuclear war — and the end of life as we know it — intelligently and rationally? Or must all questions about our Dr. Strangelove policy be met with childish name-calling (e.g., “stooge of Putin!”) designed to silence debate?

Second, is it a good idea to essentially tell a man who controls 6,200 nuclear weapons, and who our pseudo-elites may label “crazy,” you want to kill him? This is what Joe Biden’s and Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s call for Russian “regime change” really amounts to, mind you.

  • Idiocracy Cometh: Students Shocked That Organic Chemistry is Hard; Get Professor Fired

Back to School DuncecapBy Selwyn Duke

It’s a course that “weeds out the doctors from the wannabes,” wrote FastWeb last year about notoriously difficult organic chemistry. This hasn’t stopped a group of Big Apple wannabes, however, from getting an organic chemistry professor fired because his class is “too hard.” The kicker is that the professor, Maitland Jones Jr., is highly accomplished in his field — in fact, he wrote the book on it.

(Or, at least, a book on it.)

  • Woman Rejects Democrats After Being Told to Sign a Workplace “White People Are Racist” Contract

    Prejudice SignBy Selwyn Duke

“The business of progressives is to go on making mistakes,” noted G.K. Chesterton ages ago. Well, for one Pennsylvania woman, they just made one mistake too many. In fact, says family attorney Nicole Levitt, it’s to the point where “political liberalism seems to have passed me by.”

At issue is that as part of employer-mandated “diversity, equity and inclusion” (DEI) training, she was asked to sign a contract stating that “all white people are racist,” as Levitt put it in a July video. She refused and now has filed an Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) complaint against her employer.

  • Cornell Professor: CRT is Being Used to Kill Objective Truth in the Classroom

    Snake and AppleBy Selwyn Duke

“What is truth?” This well-known question is what Roman governor Pontius Pilate, infamously and perhaps cynically, asked of Jesus. Yet Truth is still under attack 2,000 years later, and, warns an Ivy League professor, one front in this war is Critical Race Theory (CRT).

In fact, says Randy Wayne, associate professor at Cornell University’s School of Integrative Plant Science, CRT curricula are being used to eliminate the concept of Objective Truth from classrooms.

“We're supposed to be training people like biologists that will become doctors to make us healthier. Mechanical engineers that will build bridges or skyscrapers," he told Fox News Digital in a telephone interview this month. “And if they are trained on a foundation that there is no truth, nobody wants to be operated on by such a surgeon, or drive over a bridge made by such an engineer.”

  • “Inclusive” Skies: Virgin Atlantic Kowtows to ‘Gender’ Ideologues

    Sex Symbols-ConfusionBy Selwyn Duke

Swedish medical authorities have just done a u-turn, recommending restraint on prescribing children “trans” drugs. In England, a major clinic providing such (Tavistock) is poised for closure and is the target of a class-action lawsuit. And people in general are leery of the MUSS (Made-up Sexual Status, aka “transgender”) agenda. But this hasn’t stopped Virgin Atlantic from going all in on that agenda in “inclusivity’s” name — and boasting about it.

  • Top ‘Educator’ Weingarten Sends Ignorant Tweet About Founders’ Slavery Views

Back to School DuncecapBy Selwyn Duke

“Childless Randi has a child's understanding of US history.” So said columnist Derek Hunter, joining others in criticizing teachers’ union boss Randi Weingarten for sending a tweet so historically illiterate that many find it unfathomable she’s an educator.

The Post Millennial reports on the story, writing that “Weingarten, the progressive president of the second-largest teacher's union in the country [American Federation of Teachers] and a former history teacher, displayed her lack of historical knowledge on Wednesday when she falsely claimed that ‘if America’s founders questioned slavery’ the three-fifths compromise wouldn't have been added to the US Constitution."

“Weingarten's faulty claim was in response to a clip of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis in which he asserted that ‘It was the American Revolution that caused people to question slavery,’” the site continued. “‘No one had questioned it before we decided as Americans that we are endowed by our creator with unalienable rights.’”

The three-fifths-compromise canard — the notion that the standard’s origination lay in a desire to dehumanize black people — is one of those lies that got halfway around the world before the Truth could get its boots on. Yet it has been debunked repeatedly.

  • How About Some Real History for a Change?

    American Eagle-OriginalBy Selwyn Duke

The video at the bottom of this article was in my YouTube suggestions a while back, and it truly is interesting. It's an audio-book presentation of the testimonial of Fanny Kelly, a woman held captive by American Indians in the 19th century.

Titled Narrative of My Captivity Among the Sioux Indians, such material is invaluable because it's not from a textbook compiled by college professors who serve up revisionist history, filtered through the lens of their own biases. It's a firsthand account provided by someone who was actually there.

  • “My Religion Made Me Do it,” Bragged Would-be Cop Killer

    MuslimStarandCrescentBy Selwyn Duke

“And my religion made me do it” said the man, while claiming to have killed two police officers. Given all we hear nowadays about “Christian nationalism,” a New York Times reader might fancy the perp a follower of Jesus. Or, in light of Joe Biden’s recent blood-red-background speech in which he warned about MAGA “extremists” threatening “the very foundations of our republic,” a CNN watcher may think the attacker was a Trump supporter.

They’d both be wrong, however, just as illegal alien Dzenan Camovic, who viciously attacking three police officers during NYC’s George Floyd riots, was wrong: All three of his victims survived. For Camovic didn’t yell “Christ is King!” during his attack; in fact, interestingly, we don’t hear anyone committing crimes or terrorist acts and shouting “Christ is King!”

But Camovic did yell “Allahu akbar!” during his attacks — three times.

As for the establishment and its pet media, it has yelled nothing about the case; rather, its coverage is better described as a whisper, with the bare minimum of ink expended before returning to woke narratives.

  • Lib View Host With Fake Name Slams Nikki Haley for Using a Real One

Back to School DuncecapBy Selwyn Duke

Talk about a lack of self-awareness. Last week on ABC’s The View, host Sunny Hostin criticized former United Nations envoy Nikki Haley for going by “Nikki” and not her first name, Nimrata, in an effort to, by Hostin’s lights, hide her ethnicity. Yet maybe the host should go by Glass House Hostin.

After all, Nikki is Haley’s actually middle name.

While Sunny is for Hostin a fake one — her real first name is Asunción.

What’s more, unsaid in the ensuing debate is that while Haley may not be hiding her ethnicity, assimilating by adopting names congruent with your new land is status quo in culturally cohesive (i.e., healthy) nations and could even be considered good manners. Whatever the case, politeness certainly isn’t reigning between the two women: Haley responded to Hostin’s hostility by calling her a “racist.”
