• Claim: “The Democrats Have a Pedo Problem”

    Abused GirlBy Selwyn Duke

Is it a coincidence that it was the liberal Los Angeles Times that, in 2013, suggested pedophilia is an inborn “sexual orientation as immutable as heterosexuality”? Is it a coincidence that, also in 2013, it was left-wing British health expert Professor John Ashton who suggested lowering the age of consent to perhaps 14? Commentators Todd and Erik Gregory surely wouldn’t think so — in fact, they assert, “progressives have a pedophilia problem.”

  • Another Race-card Play: Study Claims Pandemic Widened the Black/White Gun-violence Gap

    Ar15By Selwyn Duke

A new study claims that the COVID-19 situation “exacerbated” children’s “exposure” to firearm violence and that the increase was more significant among non-white kids. Yet what it claims is not what it found, as it doesn’t even suggest how the “pandemic” might have caused this phenomenon.

What’s more, it uses white children as the “reference” group — despite admitting that American Indian kids’ outcomes were at least as good if not better.

  • Did a Woke Med Student Purposely Mistreat a Patient for Mocking Her Pronoun Pin?

    Bad DoctorBy Selwyn Duke

In an operating room after being shot in 1981, President Ronald Reagan pulled down his mask and said to the medical staff, “I hope you are all Republicans!” He was joking, of course, but such a concern may be more warranted in today’s politically charged America — especially if the worst interpretation of a recent story is any guide.

Kychelle Del Rosario, a fourth-year medical student at Wake Forest School of Medicine, posted a Tuesday tweet that many interpret as meaning that she intentionally mistreated a patient — all because he poked fun at her “pronoun pin.”

  • Excluding Cyclist “Emily” Bridges and Splitting the “Transgender” Baby

    Sex Symbols-ConfusionBy Selwyn Duke

Society is undergoing a “transgenderism” transition. Where not long ago authorities insisted that men claiming womanhood be allowed to use females’ locker rooms and compete in their sports, we’re now starting to see reversals. States such as Florida, Mississippi, and Tennessee have banned MUSS (Made-up Sexual Status, aka transgender) males from competing in women’s sports. It’s also increasingly common now to question MUSS men’s presence in them. Yet there’s still a tendency (including on conservatives’ part) to seek on this issue a middle ground that, somehow, will make everyone happy. But perhaps a question should be asked:

Is this debate about MUSS men in women’s sports really, at bottom, about sports?

  • Report: As Biden Makes Poland a Target, Putin and High Command Move to Nuclear Bunkers

    Banana RepublicBy Selwyn Duke

“What does Vladimir Putin have to do to convince Washington that the Ukraine crisis is a preliminary skirmish in what might be a nuclear war?” So asks astute commentator David Goldman (a.k.a. Spengler) and fellow writer Uwe Parpart, sounding an alarm that should make everyone take notice. In an Asia Times piece titled “N-war risk real; Biden’s living a dangerous fantasy,” they warn that after threatening to use nuclear weapons, “Putin and his high command reportedly have [now] decamped to secret bunkers.”

Meanwhile, barely noticed is that while explaining away his statement that American troops were heading for Ukraine, Joe Biden revealed on Monday something else troubling: What he meant was, he said, those American soldiers would be training Ukrainian troops in Poland — a NATO country.

  • Tucker: With Nuclear Threat Nigh, Unstable Biden Should Be Removed via the 25th Amendment

    Nuclear BlastBy Selwyn Duke

“Don’t underestimate Joe’s ability to f*** things up.” This comment, reportedly made by Barack Obama, could now come to mind. Less than a year and a half into Joe Biden’s presidency, after all, conflict and civilization-ending nuclear war with Russia have become a chilling possibility. Despite this, Biden has done nothing but exacerbate tensions with his words. Over just the course of three days recently, in fact, the president went off-script and indicated that 1) the U.S. might use chemical weapons (i.e., against Russia) if Moscow employs them; 2) American troops were heading for Ukraine; and 3) the administration seeks to oust Vladimir Putin from power.

All three comments were later repudiated by the administration — while Biden essentially claimed they were never made — but some damage had been done. Add to this that Biden also has called Putin a “pure thug,” a “murderous dictator,” and a “war criminal,” and a question arises:

Is this the best way to deal with a volatile situation and a man with 6,000 nuclear weapons at his fingertips?

  • Disney Protests Florida’s Parental Rights Bill While Pandering to Genocidal China

    Chinese stormtroopersBy Selwyn Duke

Disney’s claim to fame is creating entertaining fiction. Yet critics might now say the company is living a very unentertaining fiction: that Florida’s parental rights bill is “hateful,” as Joe Biden once put it — but Chinese Uyghur genocide isn’t even worthy of mention.

Fox News recently asked Disney “why it appears they are more vocal in speaking out on the DeSantis-backed bill than the literal genocide going on in China, and if the company would condemn the ethnic cleansing.”

The corporation was silent on that, too, not responding to Fox at all.

The Florida bill, HB 1557, which was signed into law by Governor Ron DeSantis Monday, has been widely misrepresented. All it dictates, essentially, is that schools “may not encourage classroom discussion about sexual orientation or gender identity in primary grade levels or in a manner that is not age-appropriate or developmentally appropriate for students,” as it states on pages 3 and 4.

But while opponents almost universally epitomized the bill’s meaning as “Don’t Say Gay,” Disney’s attitude on China has been “Don’t say nay.”

  • USA Today on Ketanji Brown and “What’s a Woman?”: “Science Says There’s No Simple Answer”

Back to School DuncecapBy Selwyn Duke

Children learn to differentiate between the sexes by two years of age.

Or, at least, that’s what we were told.

Now even Supreme Court nominees are confused about, for example, what a woman is — or so it appears. Journalists are, too, ostensibly.

At issue is, of course, the answer Joe Biden’s SCOTUS nominee, Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson, gave when Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) asked during confirmation hearings if she could define the term “woman.” She couldn’t within the given context, said Jackson, because “I’m not a biologist.”

  • The Rise (and Fall?) of Post-religious America

    1746135_lowBy Selwyn Duke

The 2006 documentary film Jesus Camp chronicled the events at an evangelical children’s ministry camp in, ironically, Devil’s Lake, North Dakota. Portrayed was hope and fear, both induced by the same idea. That is, the evangelical camp organizers and a left-wing talk show host featured in the film all agreed on one thing: that the Christian movement in question was poised to transform the nation by raising up “right-wing” foot soldiers for Jesus. In reality, though, the hopes and fears were unfounded, as America’s secularization was already quite obvious in 2006 — and was continuing apace.

Revealing how far along this phenomenon is, is Deseret News’ recently released Faith in America Survey (FAS). Conducted by the Marist Poll, it “sheds light on the state of faith in America, and how Americans of different backgrounds do or do not incorporate religion and faith into key aspects of their lives…”
