Where is the brave little boy to say, “But the Emperor has no clothes!”? This famous Hans Christian Andersen line could come to mind when pondering the case of University of Pennsylvania athlete “Lia” Thomas, the man claiming to be female who has been smashing women’s swimming records. After all, it has just been learned that his teammates’ publicized “support” for him is a façade erected because the female swimmers fear criticism and being “canceled.”

In fact, says one teammate speaking under the condition of anonymity about Thomas’s competing against women, “everyone just knows it's the wrong thing.”

“Do you know we don’t rule out first-use nuclear action?” So said Senator Roger Wicker (R-Miss.) while outlining what measures the U.S. could take against Russia over Ukraine, at whose border Moscow has been massing troops. The senator’s office later clarified that this comment related to American policy in general and not specifically to Russia. While this is actually believable (Wicker made a loose comment), what’s unbelievable is that we’re even considering a military confrontation with Moscow over something that does not at all involve a U.S. national interest.

Moreover, what else Wicker said, during a recent interview with Fox News host Neil Cavuto, is not reassuring. To wit: “Well, military action could mean that we stand off with our ships in the Black Sea and we rain destruction … on Russia military capability,” the Independent related him as stating. “It could mean that we participate, and I would not rule that out, I would not rule out American troops on the ground.”

It’s a sign of the times that everything has become “political” — even drugs. But all that had to happen to poor hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) was for President Trump to tout him, and he automatically became a MAGA-hatted Republican targeted for cancellation. The same is true of ivermectin (IVM), which was branded “horse medicine” even though it has long been used to treat people and our CDC fairly recently recommended it for Afghan “refugees” as an anti-parasitic.

Speaking of woke mentalities, however, applying politically correct thinking to the anti-ivermectin set would get them deemed racists who are calling black Africans horses — animals, in other words — as this drug and HCQ are used widely by people in sub-Saharan countries. Notably, these nations also happen to have low rates of COVID-19-induced death, a phenomenon that should interest anyone concerned about tackling the disease.

One example is Ukraine’s border with Russia — in fact, establishment Democrats and Republicans claim they may be willing to go to war with Moscow over it.

What’s more, one senator actually mentioned our first-strike nuclear capability when discussing the matter.

In case you haven’t guessed, my title is another way of characterizing the hoax perpetrated by actor and malefactor Jussie Smollett, currently on trial for falsely claiming he was the victim of a 2019 “hate crime.” It’s a way of framing the frame that would be quite common were the races reversed.

Of course, a white guy today doesn’t have to falsely claim anything to be demonized in media. He just has to be guilty of DWW — Defending While White, à la poor Kyle Rittenhouse or Mark McCloskey. As for Smollett, he pulls a jump-the-shark version of a “hate crime” hoax, and the media (see Robin Roberts et al.) just nod sympathetically.

“If something can’t go on, it won’t,” goes the paraphrase of economist Herb Stein. This reality could explain a shocking and, some would say, unbelievable story:

CNN, the poster boy for left-wing activism posing as journalism, may be poised to become more conservative.

This is according to lawyer extraordinaire, ex-U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia, and well-connected savant Joe DiGenova. In a recent interview on WMAL radio in Washington, D.C., DiGenova provided his explanation for what many pundits are theorizing about: the real reason CNN fired its highest-rated performer, Chris Cuomo.

Socialist Saul “the Red” Alinsky’s work Rules for Radicals is widely embraced by Machiavellian leftist social engineers. But some on the Right are now also taking a leaf from the book — in particular, the counsel that mockery is one of man’s most potent weapons.

Anglo-Irish satirist Jonathan Swift used this strategy almost 300 years ago (his Gulliver’s Travels critique of lawyers is hilarious). Late radio host Rush Limbaugh, also quite swift, did likewise and called it “illustrating absurdity by being absurd.” And satirical site The Babylon Bee uses the technique to great effect, and most recently, a day after ex-presidential nominee Bob Dole’s passing, ran the headline “Bob Dole Switches To Democrat Party.”  

Yet proving that this could be applied to the COVID-1984 situation, and maybe should….

It may not surprise those who know that children can sometimes receive “transgender” treatments or have abortions without parental consent. But in the latest example of systemic child abuse, there are people who now want to bypass parents so that they can give children — as young as five — COVID-19 “vaccinations.”

What’s more, this standard has already been adopted in certain parts of Canada, which means that given enough time, it could become reality in the United States as well. In fact, way back in the spring, a Pennsylvania state senator crafted a bill that would allow 14-year-olds to get the coronavirus genetic-therapy agents (a.k.a. “vaccines”) sans parental consent.

As for the Canadian trespass, the province of British Columbia “has a sneaky little parental rights problem called the Infants Act Law, which outlines the legal position regarding “Mature Minor Consent and Immunization” for children under the age of 19,”

They “get bitter” and “cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them,” said Barack Obama in 2008, describing mainly white, working-class voters. But it turns out that some “people who aren’t like them” are like them — in that they’re clinging to weapons, too.

While writing about the Kyle Rittenhouse case last month, I mentioned that there’s an immutable rule of life: “Since ‘Necessity is the mother of invention,’ citizens bedeviled by unrestrained criminals will become de facto law enforcement and do the job the government won’t do.”

This happened with the vigilance committees of the Old West. It happened in Kenosha, where many more residents than just Rittenhouse became armed defenders. Now it’s happening in the New York City borough of Brooklyn, where almost exclusively non-white school students are arming up in “gun-free zones” because they fear violence.

If you learned your child’s nanny didn’t want you to know what she was doing with your kid behind closed doors, while you weren’t around, you’d be more than suspicious. You’d give her the boot (and that’s also what nanny-cams are for). Yet should it be any different if the person wanting “alone time” with your child is a schoolteacher?

Parents may again want to ponder this question after yet another teacher was caught with her ideology down. The scene of this trespass was a California Teachers Association (CTA) conference concerning “how to indoctrinate schoolchildren without their parents’ knowledge,” as Fox News host Tucker Carlson put it.
