Though it’s always odd discussing a microorganism as if it has intellect and purpose, it’s said that viruses generally become less deadly as they mutate because killing their hosts doesn’t facilitate their survival. This may be the case with the COVID-19 Omicron variant. For though it has already appeared in 38 countries, the World Health Organization reports that it has claimed not even one life.

This comes on the heels of a major study showing that during 15 months of the coronavirus “pandemic,” precisely zero healthy German children have died from COVID induced by any variant.

It’s yet more proof that the SARS-CoV-2 situation is no longer an emergency, if it ever was. Despite this, Establishment media, politicians, organizations, and businesses are still ratcheting up the fear, increasing the chances of bad China virus policy’s perpetuation.

“Blood is not thicker than morality,” radio host and author Laura Schlessinger once noted. This comes to mind when pondering how Fox News’ normally astute Tucker Carlson, who generally exhibits more philosophical depth than is the television news norm, stumbled a bit last Tuesday evening.

At issue was a Tucker Carlson Tonight segment about ex-TV host Chris Cuomo’s “indefinite suspension” (he has since been fired) from CNN for using his press connections to help his brother, ex-NY governor Andrew Cuomo, craft a defense against the sexual misconduct allegations that ended his political career.

Carlson had much to say that was true: Chris Cuomo is a buffoonish narcissist whose greatest trespasses were far worse than what ultimately scuttled his TV show, and CNN is infested with people who’d denounce their own mothers for career advancement. Yet the host also said, while trying to lend Cuomo’s actions some perspective, that his behavior amounts to “what you do with brothers, even the loathsome ones: You help them when they need it — it’s called loyalty.”

Given that COVID-19 “vaccines” have now been approved for children 5 through 11 and kids are sometimes even required to get the shot, many parents are unsure about how to proceed. But a major new study out of Germany should make their decision easy. Released Monday, it found that not even one healthy child aged 5 through 18 died of COVID-19 during the first 15 months of the pandemic.

You read that right: Zero died.

You “cannot power the world with solar panels and wind turbines alone.” So said Energy Committee ranking member Senator John Barrasso (R-Wy.) during the recent American Nuclear Society winter conference in Washington, D.C. Barrasso was reaffirming his support for nuclear energy, and in this was joined by the committee’s chairman, Democrat Senator Joe Manchin of West Virginia.

The two senators emphasized that the United States must produce more energy and not be reliant on foreign nations.

If “Hollywood continues down this road” toward political correctness, writes China’s Global Times, “it will dig its own grave and destroy its reputation one day.”

One day? Many might say that that the destruction of Hollywood’s current reputation would be an improvement. But China’s admonishment, published Monday, speaks volumes about many things — woke culture’s and the Western Left’s (short) future among them.

Unbeknownst to many, and in the sense in which kids would sometimes use the word, Beijing “owns” Hollywood. That is, Beijing’s powerful State Administration of Radio, Film and Television (SARFT) actually succeeds in censoring many of our movies, using the threat that if producers don’t make their flicks China-friendly, they’ll be denied access to the nation’s lucrative market. It’s the NBA phenomenon — “No Boldness Anywhere” (except Beijing).

“Moral issues are always complex matters — for people who have no principles.” When pondering this apocryphal saying, it could come to mind that the same is true of legal issues, in particular, constitutional ones. This was essentially the point Senator John Kennedy (R-La.) made Tuesday on the Senate floor. Criticizing the flawed Roe v. Wade (1973) opinion, Kennedy encouraged the Supreme Court to overturn its predecessors’ folly in the current Dobbs v. Jackson case, which concerns the matter of whether pre-viability restrictions on prenatal infanticide are constitutional.

Bumbling and stumbling is what we flawed humans do. During WWII, Admiral William Halsey sailed his fleet into a typhoon. In 1979, the Three Mile Island nuclear reactor melted down largely because of, apparently, poorly trained plant operators. In 1999, NASA lost its $125 million Mars Climate Orbiter due to a metric-Imperial system mix-up.

But the COVID-19 response is assuredly the greatest blunder in American history. This is especially true since, a bit like Halsey having engaged the typhoon repeatedly to see if he could get even, our “health” authorities never make the same mistake twice.

They make it five or six times, just to be sure.

The reality is that despite the coronavirus response’s abject failure, Dr. Anthony Fauci and his fellow travelers refuse to change course. They just love immersion in the typhoon, despite their policy ship having already sailed — and sunk.

In a social media feed Monday, I came across a 1979 60 Minutes segment on the propaganda surrounding the 1976 swine flu panic. Many of us had already heard about how the event was reminiscent of today’s COVID-1984 con, but actually watching the segment drives home how striking the parallels between the two disease scares are. Exaggerations of the bugs’ severity, media propaganda and fear-mongering, an effort to vaccinate the whole nation, serious vaccine-coincident side-effects, and an apparent government cover-up of the latter were all elements of the ’76 fiasco just as they epitomize what’s occurring today.
