• Is “The Vaccine Won’t Work Against NEW COVID” the Next Lockdown Justification?

    Science Lab BeakersBy Selwyn Duke

Two stories currently big in the news may be intimately related, yet the connection is avoided like the plague. The first concerns the COVID-19 vaccine’s rollout and the message that, ultimately, we all have an obligation to take the needle.

The second is how there’s a new “super-contagious” coronavirus variant that was first detected in Britain but now is also present in the United States. The connection?

Since vaccines often are ineffective against virus strains they weren’t derived from, will we hear in a few months, “Sorry, but the vaccine doesn’t work against the China virus variant, so the lockdowns must continue”?

Note that this would just be the Branch Covidians’ fourth or fifth lockdown-justifying goalpost move.

  • Trump Has Been Laughed Out of Court Because Courts Have Become Laughable

    Judge pounding GavelBy Selwyn Duke

Of what use is proof presented to judges “if the government is determined to rob and destroy a man who had displeased them, or who possesses what they want?” rhetorically asked ancient Roman jurist Scaevola of a certain destined-for-fame protégé. “Have I truly wasted all these years on such an idiot as this Marcus Tullius Cicero!” he then exclaimed, addressing that man.

The young lawyer Cicero had gone to his friend and mentor, disillusioned, because his first case wasn’t going well despite his having evidence vindicating his client. This comes to mind because, not surprisingly, nothing much has changed in 2,000 years.

“Your claims have been laughed out of court!” liberals will routinely exclaim to conservatives in reference to well substantiated vote fraud allegations. Yet this “argument is authoritarian in its reasoning,”

  • Electric Cars, Unrealistic and Dirty, Have “Fast Charge” More Expensive Than Gas

    Failure FigureBy Selwyn Duke

It was seven years ago that former electric-car engineer Ozzie Zehner wrote “Unclean at Any Speed,” warning that, environmentally speaking, plug-in vehicles were more scam than savior. Now a third-generation automobile dealer who has driven electric cars illustrates how they’re also expensive and unrealistic.

That is, “fast charge” electric power is not only up to 62-percent more costly per mile than gasoline, but powering up is not even all that fast: It takes an hour or more.

This can equate to waiting hundreds of hours annually for your vehicle to charge while on the road.

  • The State as God: Expect Biden/Harris to “Go Roman” on Christianity

    Religion-AtheismBy Selwyn Duke

A hallmark of the Left, from the French revolutionaries to our sexual “devolutionaries,” is the persecution of Christians. After all, the government can’t be the people’s highest power if God is. And Joe Biden and Kamala Harris would embrace this dark tradition with vigor, warn observers.

In contrast, one of President Trump’s many unrecognized accomplishments is that he has stood up for religious liberty more than perhaps any other modern commander in chief. Just consider, points out the Federalist’s John Daniel Davidson, the White House’s proclamation commemorating the 850th anniversary of the martyrdom of Saint Thomas Becket, archbishop of Canterbury. Honored by both Anglicans and Catholics, he was murdered in 1170 A.D. by followers of King Henry II of England for refusing to make the church subservient to the state.

While you can read the whole proclamation here, consider the following three quotations and see if you can figure out which ones were formulated by Founding Fathers.

  • The Shadow of Obama: Biden Will Exert More Fed Control Over Local Police

    Police CruiserBy Selwyn Duke

Would you charge police departments with discrimination if, because men are only half the population, their arrestees are more than 50 percent male? This “disparate impact” standard is precisely what a Joe Biden administration would apply — predictably, though, only in the area of race.

While the “Biden” scheme is likely the handiwork of the cognitively declining president-suspect’s handlers, it’s hardly original.

  • While Americans Fiddle, China Wages “Unrestricted War” on U.S.

    Chinese stormtroopersBy Selwyn Duke

Few heeded Winston Churchill’s pre-World War II warnings about the Nazi threat, even though Adolf Hitler’s plans were well laid out in his book, Mein Kampf. Why, most “elites” dismissed the German leader as a buffoon.

Yet today history is repeating itself. That is, there’s a Chinese analogue to Hitler’s book called Unrestricted Warfare — and many of its prescriptions are already being used against us….

  • Anarchy NYC: 25-strong Teen Mob Attacks Mother and Son in SUV; “Re-imagined” Police Absent

    Banana RepublicBy Selwyn Duke

Fifty years ago we had John Lennon’s naiveté-born utopian song “Imagine,” outlining a world without countries, possessions, or religion. Now a big word is “re-imagine,” ostensibly relating to an America without police as we know them.

How it’s working is well-illustrated by Mayor Bill de Blasio’s New York City. After reducing the police budget and morale, crime is skyrocketing, and the latest Exhibit A is a frightening attack on an elderly mother and her middle-age son by a group of youths on bicycles.

  • Claim: “Stunning Turn of Events in PA May Lead to Trump Victory”

    Donkey-ElephantBy Selwyn Duke

According to many sources, including now some Pennsylvania lawmakers, the state’s election results are off by upwards of 200,000 votes — more than enough to flip the commonwealth to President Trump.

The claim in question is not, as a common misunderstanding goes, that “there were more votes than registered voters in Penn.” Rather, it is that there were more votes than voters in the November contest.

Now the state GOP is wondering….

  • UNWomen.org Outlines a “Gender” Utopia Scheme That Seems Satirical — but Isn’t

    Sex Symbols-ConfusionBy Selwyn Duke

If you doubt that “equality” has become akin to a religion, just consider the “gender” dystopia billed as a utopia envisioned by United Nations Women. Outlined at the organization’s website and replete with cartoon illustrations of imaginary country Equiterra’s “Unstereotype Avenue,” “Toxic Masculinity Recycling Plant,” and other attractions, it looks like the product of a Mao-Molly Yard hybrid on a bad LSD trip.

  • Study: Massive Earthquakes Are the Real Cause of “Arctic Warming”

    Ice AgeBy Selwyn Duke

It’s a conclusion that aligns with now-uncommon common sense: As has occurred all throughout history, it’s natural phenomena that are causing climate change. In this case, Russian researchers have found that great earthquakes are causing Arctic warming.
