• Who Wins 2020’s Phony of the Year Award?

    PinnochioBy Selwyn Duke

Trying to figure out who’s Phony of the Year in our mad, Machiavellian third millennium may seem like attempting to identify the chief mosquito in the Everglades. There certainly is no shortage of people today who take phoniness, pretentiousness, superficiality, and deceit to Clintonian heights. But after analyzing the landscape of pseudo-elite lies, I’ve compiled a list of contenders — and have drawn a conclusion.

  • Evil on Campus 2020: Extremist Speakers Welcomed; Conservatives Shunned

    Snake and AppleBy Selwyn Duke

While conservative speakers are boycotted or banned and a prospective student was just cancelled for a years-old three-second video, leftist radicals are welcome on college campuses. In fact, those speaking at “higher education” institutions this year include a terrorist hijacker, a self-described communist, an author who trades in bigotry, and an anti-white discrimination advocate.

  • Young Woman “Cancelled” Over Three-second Video — Made When 15 Years Old

    Man in CrosshairsBy Selwyn Duke

Kids have always done stupid things they’d later regret. The difference is that only recently have the tender-yeared’s youthful indiscretions been documented on video so that three seconds of puerility could become three million via viewer repetition. But what’s more immature, a 15-year-old who records a few seconds of foolishness or a society that would scuttle her academic career path over it?

This is an apropos question after just such an incident has occurred involving a now “cancelled” college-age woman; a teen boy who catalyzed the cancelling; the New York Times, which glorified it; and a mob that effected it.

  • Muslim Rape Gangs and Woke Justice? 37 Child Sex Probes Go NOWHERE

    Scales of JusticeBy Selwyn Duke

It shocked many to learn that British authorities had ignored a child-trafficking ring and the beating, terrorizing, and sexual abuse of approximately 1,400 girls for 16 years because the perpetrators were Muslim. One whistleblower was actually told, “You must never [again] refer to Asian [Muslim] men,” and your “awareness of ethnic issues” needs to be raised; she was even forced into “diversity training.”

That abuse occurred in the northern England town of Rotherham in 2014. But this hasn’t inspired authorities to trade Lady Wokeness for Lady Justice, say critics, citing another Muslim rape-gang story, this one involving 37 cases and hundreds of named suspects — and zero convictions.

  • Study: Leftist “Microaggression” Training Doesn’t Work — BETTER Social Engineering Required

    874847_lowBy Selwyn Duke

In a “Thank you, Captain Obvious” moment, a university study has found that microaggression training doesn’t work as intended.

For those not up to speed on the trendiest new species of intellectual degradation, a microaggression (silly term) is a usually normal comment that’s often meant to be complimentary, but which is perceived by an indoctrinated listener as reflecting implicit bias toward a “marginalized community,” as writer Michele Barnwell, who really does write very well, puts it.

An example is, “Everyone can succeed in this society, if they work hard enough” (seriously), according to “social scientists.” Then there’s the macro version of microaggressions.

  • Calif. Senate and Hispanics vs. Blacks: Identity Politics Contains the Seeds of its Own Destruction

    Prejudice SignBy Selwyn Duke

With “sustainability” being a big woke word today, a question arises: Is identity politics sustainable?

Case in point: With vice-president-suspect Kamala Harris’s Senate seat having been filled, activists are filled with consternation because the choice is the wrong sex and race — at least for some people.

These people aren’t concerned about whether California governor Gavin Newsom’s pick, Secretary of State Alex Padilla, is competent. There is and was no talk about his philosophy on government’s role; life issues; foreign policy; regulations, the Sexual Devolution; or, perish the thought, the Constitution. Instead, the focus is on his being Hispanic.

Group identity was a major focus prior to his selection, too.

  • NYU Prof, on Reparations, Suggests Investigating White Americans’ Taxes for Slavery Ties

Back to School DuncecapBy Selwyn Duke

Fresh on the heels of a professor suggesting that blacks’ votes should be worth twice whites’ as a form of reparations, comes news of another bright idea from academia’s hallowed halls:

White people should perhaps be forced to submit their taxes to a check for ties to slavery.

  • The Trump Spirit: After Defending Robert E. Lee, New GOP State Sen. DOUBLES DOWN

Bald Eagle in Front of FlagBy Selwyn Duke

Faced with a barrage of criticism after defending Confederate general Robert E. Lee, Arizona state senator-elect Wendy Rogers did what politicians usually do.

Just kidding — actually, she doubled down.

The controversy began Monday when Rogers, likely responding to the removal of a Lee statue from the U.S. Capitol overnight, tweeted….
