• Dying With Their Pink Boots On: Military Goes Full “Woke”

    Confusion-Traffic SignsBy Selwyn Duke

For years conservatives would say that once the fantasy-land-immersed college undergrad snowflakes got out into the “real world,” they’d change. What actually happened was that they changed the “real world,” and the latest example is how our military is transitioning from passé political correctness to the steroid-engorged version called “wokeness.”

Far from their mandate to “kill people and break things,” as radio giant Rush Limbaugh would put it, the military now is breaking standards, meritocracy included.

  • Professor Wants Blacks’ Votes To Be Worth Twice Whites’ Votes

    Prejudice SignBy Selwyn Duke

With “equality” passé and the new buzzword being “equity,” racial discrimination is back with a vengeance. The latest example is an academic who wants black Americans’ votes valued at twice those of their white countrymen — as a form of reparations.

Assistant professor Brandon Hasbrouck, who teaches criminal law, race relations law, and critical theory at Washington and Lee University School of Law, is not exactly original. Writing in the Nation last week, his idea closely mirrors a 2015 proposal made by Theodore Johnson, a senior fellow at the Brennan Center for Justice. Johnson, however, was willing to settle for blacks’ votes being worth 5/3rds whites’.

  • Ex-judge: Election Justice Stymied Because Whole Court System Is Intimidated by Left

    Banana RepublicBy Selwyn Duke

Imagine that doing your duty could not only mean losing your career, but also becoming a pariah, getting death threats, having your children harassed, and needing armed protection. This increasingly is the reality for many Americans. In fact, intimidation in the legal system, says an ex-Wisconsin judge, is hampering Republicans’ ability to get election-oriented justice.

In particular, states James Troupis, pressure from the Left is stopping lawyers and judges from accepting and hearing vote-fraud cases.

  • Study of Almost 10 Million Finds NO ASYMPTOMATIC COVID SPREAD; Media Silent

    Three MonkeysBy Selwyn Duke

Whether or not coronavirus can be spread asymptomatically is perhaps the most important question surrounding the disease. After all, the assumption that it can has been used to justify mask mandates and life-ravaging lockdowns. This is why it’s striking that a major study, involving almost 10 million people, has found zero cases of asymptomatic transmission — and that our COVID-panic-porn-peddling mainstream media have met it with deafening silence.

  • Free Speech Victory: Woman Arrested After Calling “Trans” by Male Pronouns Is Freed

    Silenced ManBy Selwyn Duke

We may assume that being punished for failing to “be kind to each other and not call each other names” was left behind in fourth grade. But mother of two Kate Scottow found out differently, the hard way, when she was arrested for “making use of a public electronic communications network to cause annoyance, inconvenience or needless anxiety to another.” (Needful anxiety is, presumably, a different matter.)

But the charges against Scottow, a 39-year-old Briton, have now been vacated by England’s High Court.

  • Top Cardinal: COVID-19 Being Used to Advance an “Evil” Great Reset

    Angel vs. DemonBy Selwyn Duke

It really is no secret. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau did, after all, say during a September United Nations conference that the coronavirus pandemic could be used to advance a “reset” — and he did actually use that word. But while the Canadian leader delighted in the prospect, another prominent figure who spoke of the scheme took a very different view.

In fact, warned top Catholic prelate Cardinal Raymond Burke, the China virus is being used by supporters of “The Great Reset” to promote an “evil agenda.

  • Scientists Are “CLUELESS” About Origins of Life, Says Top Chemist and Nanotechnologist

    Science Lab BeakersBy Selwyn Duke

How do chemicals “decide” to become alive? That they can, and did, is essentially the basis for today’s widely accepted origin-of-life theory. But Rice University professor James Tour, a synthetic organic chemist who is widely considered one of America’s leading experts in nanotechnology and nanoengineering, says this theory is not only unproven but untenable. Moreover, he states that in private, many fellow scientists agree with him.

  • Medical Ethicist: Elderly Shouldn’t Get Vaccine First Because They’re Mostly White

    Prejudice SignBy Selwyn Duke

It’s amazing how quickly the goalpost-shifting Left transitioned from “equality” to “equity.” For those unacquainted with the latter concept, it’s somewhat reminiscent of the Marxist principle, “From each according to his abilities, to each according to his needs.” But having been updated and racialized, it’s ostensibly “From each group according to its privileges, to each group according to its oppression,” in the Lexicon of the Left.

A story currently in the news that illustrates equity’s practical application involves a medical “ethicist” discussing the coronavirus vaccine’s rollout. “Harald Schmidt, an expert in ethics and health policy at the University of Pennsylvania, said that it is reasonable to put essential workers ahead of older adults, given their risks, and that they are disproportionately minorities,” reported The New York Times.

  • Why Do They Hate Trump Like No One Else?

    Prejudice SignBy Selwyn Duke

Putting “Why do people hate Trump so much?” into a search engine yields a trove of results relating to Americans pondering, proposing, and picking brains (and prevaricating?) regarding the matter. For as much as the president is admired and heroicized by supporters, his staunchest opponents’ feelings run just as deep: They hate him with the passion of a thousand burning suns.

It could be unprecedented in American history. Ronald Reagan and G.W. Bush were hated, with the former dubbed “Ronald Ray-gun” and the latter caricatured as a monkey. But nothing quite compares to what’s been informally labeled a psychological problem: Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS).

The site “Thought Catalog” made an attempt last year to define TDS’s etiology, reviewing a multitude of online comments and then listing “The 20 Top Reasons” people hate Trump. But these range from the silly and childish — “He’s a former reality-TV star” and “He’s rude and mean” — to the banal: “He is pro-gun” (like most every Republican). So the discerning could suspect that those thus opining may present these reasons, but that their real reasons remain hidden, perhaps even from themselves.
