Far-left representative Maxine Waters, who in 2018 called on supporters to confront and harass Trump administration officials and hence intensify our cold (un)civil war, now says the president may want a hot one.

To be precise, Waters (D-Calif.), opining on MSNBC Wednesday while being interviewed by station host Joy Reid, peddled a conspiracy theory holding that President Trump was deploying federal officers to violent Democrat-run cities nationwide as a “trial run” for using “his military” against Americans should he fail to win re-election.

There are many sad ironies to the Sunday assault on conservative commentator Michelle Malkin. First is that she was in Denver to speak at a pro-police rally, yet the police present had orders preventing them from protecting her. There’s also how the incident is yet another example of “college culture,” with its accosting of conservative speakers, bleeding into the wider society.

Then there’s this: If asked, “What group attacks political opponents in the street in order to silence them?” the only way to know the answer is ANTIFA/BLM and not Hitler’s Brownshirts is the question’s present tense.

You might have heard about the people arrested, and in one case charged with a “hate crime,” for trying to paint over the legalized Black Lives Matter graffiti defacing our streets. But there’s more than one way to skin a cat, as a California woman proved by getting a BLM message off a local street by cleverly using the law:

She announced that if the pavement was now a public forum, then she demands equal access for her message — “MAGA 2020.”

And that BLM graffiti was gone faster than you could say “I can’t breathe.”

“Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain!” Or maybe Bill de Blasio could just say, “What, me worry?” But what the former Sandinista supporter and now esteemed New York City mayor did say, on Wednesday, as Big Apple crime surges, is that “for seven years, we have made this city safer and safer.”

To prove this wasn’t just a momentary loss of sanity, de Blasio the next day followed up by boasting that “we now have fewer people in our jails than any time since WWII, and we are safer for it and better for it.” 

For the record, shootings last week soared 253 percent over the same 2019 week; burglaries and rapes are up, too.

Well, Flippy finally has a new job. It was March when I reported on the burger-flipping kitchen worker, who does his job dutifully, never goes home, doesn’t get sick or take bathroom breaks and won’t unionize — and can be had for $3 an hour. He’s also a non-citizen who doesn’t need a visa and doesn’t care if you have a beef with his taking your job. Flippy, you see, is a robot.

It was just three years ago that a SCOTUS ruling restored the Washington Redskins’ trademark protection, after it was revoked in 2014 under the Lanham Act’s “Disparagement Clause.” The court couldn’t provide cultural protection, however. And now, the “woke” mob has accomplished what the law couldn’t do: Compel the football team to drop its 88-year-old name and its logo, which it officially did on Monday (press release below).

Interestingly, No-longer-Redskins owner Dan Snyder had vowed in 2013, “We’ll never change the name,” as USA Today reported at the time. “It’s that simple. NEVER — you can use caps.”

Is self-defense now a crime? Some are concluding it is — that is, if you’re the wrong kind of person. Inspiring this opinion is that Mark and Patricia McCloskey, the St. Louis couple who late last month brandished firearms to defend their home from a menacing mob, have now had their weapons seized by police in a move that smacks of declawing a cat and then throwing him to the wolves.
