• Did Gov Destroy Economy for NOTHING? COVID May Be Less Deadly Than Flu, Study Finds

    Bad DoctorBy Selwyn Duke

Does the Wuhan coronavirus’s fearsome reputation greatly exceed its reality? A Stanford University study indicates that this is precisely the case, finding that the disease’s mortality rate may be lower than that of the flu.

Stanford epidemiologist John Ioannidis, co-director of the university’s Meta-Research Innovation Center, warned two months ago that the COVID-19 lockdowns were based on bad data and consequently could be ill-advised. But now he has compiled his own data indicating that the lockdowns may actually be, as many have warned, a cure deadlier than the disease.

  • Did a Judge Just Rule That the Democrats May Steal Texas Via Vote-by-mail?

    Banana RepublicBy Selwyn Duke

It’s well known that, given how the large states of California and New York reliably vote Democrat, Republicans must win Texas in a presidential election to have any realistic chance of capturing the White House. Now a federal judge has just made this less likely, say critics, by ruling that all Lone Star State voters may cast ballots by mail in the November election.

  • That Other Disease: Even Conservatives Now Supporting Hate-crime Law in Georgia

    552042_lowBy Selwyn Duke

“The business of Progressives is to go on making mistakes,” noted philosopher G.K. Chesterton. “The business of Conservatives is to prevent mistakes from being corrected.”

While everyone is distracted with COVID-craziness Wuhan woes, a disease harder to remedy than a coronavirus continues spreading across our land: creeping leftism. The latest example is how even many “conservatives” in Georgia — a (formerly?) “red” state — are supporting a new hate-crime law.

Georgia is one of only four states without such legislation. But that may change with the killing of Ahmaud Arbery, a 25-year-old black man who was shot in the town of Satilla Shores on February 25 by two white men. For the incident is being used, unsurprisingly, to advance hate-crime law.

  • Police Officer: No-go Zones Are “Now Foreign Enclaves … at War With France and With Western Civilization”

    MuslimStarandCrescentBy Selwyn Duke

France’s Wuhan coronavirus lockdown measures, which only began easing days ago, were among the world’s strictest. “Permits to leave one’s home were limited to 60 minutes, once a day, and no farther than half a mile,” writes the Gatestone Institute’s Dr. Guy Millière. Approximately 15.5 million people were stopped and checked, and 915,000 citations were issued.

“The citations, according to newspapers, were given to people who stayed outside for more than an hour, or who went beyond the authorized limits,” reports Millière, a professor at the University of Paris.

But there is a group police have been told not to stop at all: People living in Muslim dominated no-go zones, euphemistically called zones-urbaines-sensibles (“sensitive urban zones”).

In fact, the cops aren’t even supposed to venture near such places. As police union president Yves Lefebvre explained, “The government knows that a large-scale uprising could happen, and that a minor incident might be enough to set the powder keg ablaze"….

  • COVID Craziness: Police Arrest Grandma for Opening Park so Kids Could Play

Big Man Stepping on Small ManBy Selwyn Duke

Open it and they will come.

The children did come, too, when Washington state grandmother Kimberley Taxdahl “opened” a town park so kids could play in the sun. The police also came, however, and arrested the “fed up” grandma for violating their governor’s orders. It’s just the latest example of Americans taking a stand against coronavirus-crazed government officials who lock down their states because they are immune — to science and reason.

  • Media Lies About COVID-19 Are Perpetuating Lockdowns and Destroying Our Nation

    Banana RepublicBy Selwyn Duke

“If only the media told the truth” sounds like a wish straight from the Wizard of Oz, desirable but fanciful. Many things would be different if it did, one being that we wouldn’t currently be crashing our economy and perhaps collapsing our civilization with the historic (and hysteric) blunder called “lockdown” policy. So asserted American Thinker’s Jack Hellner on Wednesday in a piece presenting the following startling facts:

    • 1,603 counties (52%) of U.S [in] total have zero deaths

    • 447 Counties (14%) of U.S. Total have one death

    • 443 Counties (14%) of U.S. [in] total have two to five deaths

So 80 percent of American counties have five or fewer Wuhan coronavirus deaths, for a total of 2,662 out of our nation’s approximately 84,000 (an inflated number, do note) virus casualties — or just 3.2 percent of the total.

Yet they’re locked down just like the 20 percent of counties that have 96.8 percent of the total.

  • Lord of the Flies? What REALLY Happened When Six Boys Were Stranded on a Deserted Island

    Angel vs. DemonBy Selwyn Duke

If you’ve attended school during the last half century, you likely know the story: Supposedly civilized schoolboys are stranded on an uninhabited island, organize and make plans to survive, but soon descend into barbarity, warfare, and murder as the “beast” within asserts its primal influence.

That’s the fictional tale presented in William Golding’s Lord of the Flies (1954), anyway, considered by many one of the 20th century’s great novels. But the real story of what happened when a group of boys was stranded on a deserted island, just 11 years after the book’s publication, is quite different. It’s an amazing, touching story of not just survival, but also faith, kindness, resolve, and discipline.

  • “Blood on His Hands”: Cuomo Chose to Decide, and Nursing Home Elderly Died

    Banana RepublicBy Selwyn Duke

“Cuomo has blood on his hands,” said the Queens nursing home executive. “He really does.”

There were many unknowns and disagreements early on in the Wuhan coronavirus pandemic, involving matters ranging from the disease’s contagiousness to its actual mortality rate to whether it was seasonal. But one thing everyone knew, from the beginning, was that it was highly dangerous to the elderly.

Governor Andrew Cuomo of New York certainly knew. In mid-March already, he issued the executive order “Matilda’s Law,” which placed great restrictions on people over 70 and those visiting them (e.g., you should be screened for temperature when seeing an elderly relative) and threatened individual fines up to $5,000 to enforce compliance. So Cuomo was serious.

He wanted you to know it, too. “My mother is not expendable. Your mother is not expendable,” he scolded March 24, rebuking those warning that lockdowns would kill more than they’d save. Given this, you’d think the last thing anyone would do — and the last thing Cuomo in particular would do — is put Wuhan virus-infected patients in nursing homes. So what did Cuomo do?

The very next day he issued an order (below) forcing nursing homes to accept Wuhan virus-infected patients.

  • Fox’s Tucker Carlson: “Adam Schiff Is a Sociopath”

    Demonic GirlBy Selwyn Duke

“Adam Schiff is a sociopath,” said Tucker Carlson Friday night. The Fox News host was reporting on the lies, revealed in House Intelligence Committee transcripts, that facilitated what he calls the Russia/collusion “hoax.” Yet his comment made me smirk a bit, as I’ve often theorized that Congressman Schiff (D-Calif.) could be a sociopath. (He exhibits all the signs, after all.) Even more ominously, though, the transcripts reveal a pattern of sociopathic behavior among many powerful figures — and our government increasingly, owing to societal moral decay, takes on a sociopathic character.

Then again, Carlson and I could be wrong about Schiff:

    He could be a psychopath.

  • Texas Salon Owner Luther Goes Free, but Forgotten Is That Gov. Abbott Went Wrong

    552042_lowBy Selwyn Duke

Texas salon owner Shelley Luther, who was jailed for opening her business and has been called a “modern-day Rosa Parks,” has now been freed thanks to action by the Texas Supreme Court and the state’s governor, Greg Abbott. Yet while the imperious judge who’d sentenced her has been scorned in conservative circles, forgotten is that Luther’s troubles only began because of a lockdown order Abbott issued — in defiance of science and reason.
