Once again President Trump has made waves — by telling the truth — in just the way a regular guy would. After defending our now somewhat saner migration policies in a Tuesday speech, he sent a Wednesday morning tweet stating, “Democrats are the problem. They don’t care about crime and want illegal immigrants, no matter how bad they may be, to pour into and infest our Country, like MS-13. They can’t win on their terrible policies, so they view them as potential voters!”

Unsurprisingly, leftists complained about this description, with CNN writing that “Trump used language evoking images of pests, not human beings, when describing migrants approaching the US border.” This is reminiscent of the MS-13 controversy, in which liberals bristled when the president characterized the gang’s violent members as “animals”; the idea was that Trump was denying the dignity of the human person.

One of those condemning him was CNN commentator Ana Navarro, who herself had characterized Trump as an animal just two years ago; she furthermore said he “should drop out of the human race.”

Big Brother London is one of the world’s most surveilled cities, with a half million prying-eye cameras watching its residents. But authorities still fail to effectively tackle crime, with less than one in 20 muggings and burglaries being solved. Yet, interestingly, police still find the time and resources to track down thought criminals who criticize Islam.

“Who controls the past controls the future. Who controls the present controls the past,” wrote George Orwell in 1984. One person controlling the present at Harvard’s Brigham and Women’s Hospital — its president, Dr. Betsy Nabel — wants to scrub the past: of white male faces in medicine.

The issue involves portraits of prominent physicians hung in the hospital’s Louis Bornstein Family Amphitheater. The problem? “The portraits are all of men. Thirty are white, and one is Chinese,” the Boston Globe reports. So now Nabel and the rest of the Diversity Police are going to scatter some of them throughout the grounds to make room for, presumably, quota-driven selections as part of an “inclusion” effort.

Call it the European DisUnion: While Angela Merkel is battling for her political life in Germany, a brief Franco-Italian war of words was fought over Muslim migration. France’s president Emmanuel Macron (shown, right) said that Italy was guilty of “cynicism and irresponsibility” for recently rejecting a transport vessel carrying 629 African migrants. This prompted Italy’s new premier, Giuseppe Conte (shown, left), to call the French “hypocritical” on immigration questions.

The two leaders quickly mended fences (which are precisely what the Europeans need at their borders), agreeing to push for new European Union (EU) asylum rules.

The plan to flood Europe with Muslim migrants is increasingly being challenged, with EU states Hungary, Poland, Austria, and Italy taking more and more of hard line against it. Now opposition to it threatens to topple German chancellor Angela Merkel’s government; in fact, with many of her coalition’s members of parliament (MPs) coming out against open borders, some observers say she could be ousted as early as the end of the week.

That was the message of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán (shown) in a recent interview, as he stated that Europe’s population was purposely being replaced by venal ideologists — such as billionaire George Soros — who hope to profit from the continent’s “ruination.” Moreover, he warned that another “high tide” of mass Muslim migration was nigh.

While a new study shows that people are getting dumber, robots are getting smarter. In fact, says one expert, artificially intelligent automatons may reach a point where they will outsmart man, seize control, and then enslave humans before sending us the way of the dodo. Moreover, he says that some of his colleagues will actually welcome this mechanical domination.

Robots have figured prominently in the news in recent years, with stories about how they’ll supplant workers and even spouses, as some have actually advocated robot-human “marriages.” (Given how acrimonious divorces can be, I can’t think of anything that would make robots want to wipe us out more!) But then there's the Terminator-like threat posed by artificial intelligence.

Celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain and fashion designer Kate Spade, both of whom recently killed themselves, are part of a wider trend, with suicide having increased almost 30 percent since 1999. In fact, in 2016 alone 45,000 Americans took their own lives, a number that includes, shockingly, even some preteen children. Interestingly, this rise in suicide directly corresponds with a decline in something else: Christian faith.
