• Hollywood Muscle: Weinstein Sought to Intimidate Abuse Victims Into Silence

    Failure FigureBy Selwyn Duke

Former child actor Corey Feldman recently said his efforts to expose Hollywood pedophilia had him “fearing for his life.” Alt-Right provocateur Milo Yiannopoulos once stated that he would be discreet about naming Tinseltown figures involved in child sexual abuse he witnessed because, as he put it, “I think it’s going to be, yeah, dangerous.” While this may sound melodramatic, these fears are placed in perspective by a new revelation: that disgraced film producer Harvey Weinstein hired private investigators, including ex-Mossad agents, to track (and presumably intimidate) actresses and journalists.

This raises a question: If Weinstein employed this tactic, how many other powerful Hollywood figures have done likewise?

  • Millennial Madness: Paganism on Rise in Colleges and Among Young

    Demonic GirlBy Selwyn Duke

“Have you sacrificed a virgin on your altar today?” While this question isn’t being uttered (yet), the query “What’s your sign?” is, we’re told, more common now, with Millennials glomming onto astrology as part of a larger embrace of “paganism.”

It’s ironic that Millennials, a hipster group eschewing the old, would dial back religion more than two millennia (how very Roman!). But it makes sense: As belief in Christianity in the West wanes, a spirituality vacuum is created. In this case it’s sucking in old beliefs long ago discarded as old mistakes.

  • Rogue Judge Blocks Trump’s Reinstitution of Military “Transgender” Ban

    552042_lowBy Selwyn Duke

In another example of how we’ve become a government of, by, and for judges, a federal judge has blocked President Trump’s reinstitution of the ban on Made-up Sexual Status (so-called transgender) individuals serving in the military. Strangely, the ban had been in place for more than 50 years when Barack Obama overturned it last year, yet it wasn’t found “unconstitutional” until Trump decided to return to the long-held status quo.

  • “An Open Secret”: Must-watch Documentary on Hollywood’s Casting Couch for Kids

    Linked Male SymbolsBy Selwyn Duke

If any good is coming from the Harvey Weinstein affair, it’s that a light is being shined, albeit briefly, on a far greater Hollywood scandal: the sexual abuse of young actors. If it sounds as if I speak of it as “an open secret,” it’s because that’s precisely what it is, as an excellent documentary by that name illustrates most convincingly.

While An Open Secret (AOS) isn’t new any more than is Hollywood child sex abuse (the film was released in 2014/15), the Weinstein scandal has brought it renewed attention. And this it richly deserves. The documentary didn’t do well in theaters, but this is likely, as Flavorwire wrote in November 2014, “due to the fact that distributors won’t touch it. After all, men like Bryan Singer [a director accused of sexual misconduct] make billions of dollars for corporations.”

  • Do You Have Toxic Masculinity? There’s a Class for That

    Female SoldierBy Selwyn Duke

Along with “white privilege” and “mansplaining,” another recently disgorged concept designed to stigmatize an out-of-favor group (i.e., men) is “toxic masculinity.” And, rest assured, if you’re a traditionalist man, the shrunken-head head-shrinkers will diagnose you as having it. But fear not, there are classes for it now.

  • In a Potty-mouthed Time, a Clean College Comedy Group Is All the Rage

Bald Eagle in Front of FlagBy Selwyn Duke

It’s a modern comedy troupe that doesn’t curse, engage in scatological humor, or use sexual innuendo — and that has more than one billion YouTube hits. It’s called Studio C, and for those with ears to hear and eyes to see, it’s evidence that the Hollywood sewer pipe isn’t quite as popular as people think.

Studio C is a sketch comedy show out of Brigham Young University, run by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the Mormons).

  • Mr. Hollywood Expelled From the Orgy

    Linked Male SymbolsBy Selwyn Duke

Hurricane Harvey — Weinstein, that is — blew into Hollywood and now has blown his career. Taken down by his own sexual depredations, the once-omnipotent film executive recently fled to a $2,000-a-night Arizona “rehab” center and will likely face criminal charges. Yet he merely reflects a Tinseltown that, even more than Las Vegas, is the real city of sin — and that wants to make the whole nation a reflection of itself.

No Clintonesque denials will help Weinstein, nor can he continue buying his way out of trouble (the New York Times reported that he reached at least eight settlements with women over the years). The New Yorker obtained a damning audio recording of the mogul pressuring model Ambra Gutierrez into watching him shower. Moreover, this appears the least of his trespasses. The New Yorker’s Ronan Farrow reports that during the course of a 10-month investigation, he spoke to 13 women who accuse Weinstein of serious sex crimes, including rape, between the 1990s and 2015.

The result is that Weinstein, once ensconced in a protective bubble of power and pocketbook, is now receiving the Mussolini treatment: His once servile subjects are piling on. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has expelled him; the Producers Guild of America has moved to terminate his membership; his name will be scrubbed from the credits of films and TV projects; and Deadline.com informs that The Weinstein Company, whose board the film producer just resigned from, is nearing “the brink” as talent agencies cut off the talent supply. Even prominent Democrats (such as Hillary Clinton) — who received more than $2 million in personal and “bundled” donations from him — have found their once-silent tongues and are denouncing the mogul. It’s the bravery of those who’ll kick a man when he’s down (this isn’t to imply he doesn’t deserve the kicks, only that the kickers deserve to break some toes).

  • Corrupting Kids: The Drag-queen Demon at the Michelle Obama Public Library

    Snake and AppleBy Selwyn Duke

Perhaps those conjuring up the idea just can’t wait to raise the next generation of Harvey Weinsteins and Hollywood pedophiles. And the idea is Hollywood-worthy: a “Drag Queen Story Hour” in which a man dressed as a woman (and in the most recent case appearing as a demon) reads to young children — all approved by the Church of Satan.

Except this isn’t a movie, but something actually happening in some cities across America.

A recent event in NYC opened with the drag queen asking the tiny kids, “Who wants to be a drag queen when they grow up?” Some little hands were raised and little voices answered in the affirmative.

  • Now, We Know My Mother Has Flaws, But….

    Divided AmericaBy Selwyn Duke

There’s a disclaimer many of us have been conditioned to utter, quite reflexively, and it’s something that has got to stop. When preparing a defense of the United States (against, lamentably, other “Americans”), we may preface it with, “Well, I know our country isn’t perfect” or, as pundit Tucker Carlson said while debating a bigoted lawyer last month, “I don’t deny…that this country is flawed….” Actually, our perspective is flawed.

To gain some perspective, imagine you were giving a speech about your mother and opened with, “Now, we know my mother has flaws, but….” Sound good?
