• Pro-life Truth-tellers Indicted While Flesh-trading Planned Parenthood Is Cleared

    Scales of JusticeBy Selwyn Duke

Once again, a cynic might say that “no good deed goes unpunished.” Much of America was aghast at last year’s Planned Parenthood videos apparently showing the pro-pre-natal infanticide group coldly and cavalierly trafficking in babies’ body parts. And now indictments have been issued in the case — against the people who exposed the carnage.

  • Those Crying Oscar “Racism” Are “Spoiled Brats,” Says Hollywood Producer

    Prejudice SignBy Selwyn Duke

In today’s world, you could say that cries of “racism” are the last refuge of a scoundrel — and the first, too. One man who might agree is Gerald Molen, the Oscar-winning producer who gave usSchindler’s List. Reacting to the current brouhaha over this year’s Oscars featuring only white nominees, Molen called those screaming “racism” “spoiled brats” and said, writes the Hollywood Reporter, “There is no racism except for those who create an issue. That is the worst kind. Using such an ugly way of complaining."

This issue has become quite the tempest in a teapot. “Whiter than the Oscars” has now been made a headline, used already to refer to the major weekend snowstorm and a Bernie Sanders political ad. A potty-mouthed Daily Beast writer named Kevin Fallon called the situation “bull****,” and Vanity Fair opined that the “Oscars are way too white, again” without specifying what the proper degree of whiteness might be. Then there are those who stoked these racial fires, the figures boycotting the event: Michael Moore, Spike Lee, and Will and Jada Pinkett Smith (shown). And about them Molen minced few words. Writes the Reporter, "‘The only comment that might have some legitimate substance is the one from Jada Pinkett. I understand her disappointment for her husband, but that doesn't mean she is correct in her analysis,’ Molen said. ‘As far as Michael Moore is concerned, he is a socialist always looking to insert his brand of racist hatred. Spike Lee — haven't I heard this from him before?’"

  • Man’s Ego and Michael Bloomberg

God's Hand Over WorldBy Selwyn Duke

The presidency had LBJ — now meet LBG. That’s another presidential aspirant, known to this writer as Little Big Gulp. You probably know him as ex-mayor of New York City Michael Bloomberg.

Little Big Gulp is a very small man with a very big wallet and an even bigger ego, but who doesn’t like big sodas. He successfully pushed for a 2012 ban on pop larger than 16 ounces, applicable to most businesses, but which was overturned by the courts as “arbitrary and capricious.” It certainly was. Perhaps, as comedian-cum-commentator Dennis Miller put it, Little Big Gulp didn’t like Big Gulps because he had to look up at the rim. Whatever the case, LBG also has big ambitions: he’s now considering a third-party presidential run.

  • The Trump Love Affair Explained in Terms Even Beltway Pundits Can Understand

    Donald TrumpBy Selwyn Duke

Donald Trump’s rise this election season has been historic, amounting to something heretofore unseen in the annals of American politics. Given this, it’s perhaps not surprising that many are still befuddled by the phenomenon. Pundit Charles Krauthammer is bewildered, saying that “for some reason” Trump “is immune to the laws of contradiction.” (In reality, Democrats get away with contradiction continually; the only difference is that the media actually report on Trump’s.) Also in the news recently is that some find his appeal among evangelicals “inexplicable.” Of course, it’s all quite explainable.

  • Ex-Textbook Company Exec. Admits: Common Core Has Anti-American, Anti-Christian Agenda

    874847_lowBy Selwyn Duke

Islam is in and Christianity is out, the Founding Fathers are just “dead white guys,” “D**n the Second Amendment,” and people who oppose Common Core are “idiots.” These are just a few of the sentiments expressed by a former marketing executive for textbook publishing giant Pearson Education, as she reveals on hidden camera that the federal government’s Common Core and Advanced Placement U.S. History framework are designed to indoctrinate America’s children with a leftist world view.

Kim Koerber made the startling comments in the third video (below) of a Project Veritas series on Common Core, the controversial educational scheme Barack Obama has sought to impose on states nationwide. As Project Veritas reports, the former Pearson insider, “who now works for National Geographic, was caught on camera justifying the Common Core curriculum on the grounds of anti-American and unconstitutional values. ‘People that are not educated, Fox TV viewers, think that Common Core comes from the educated liberal groups and that’s why they are against it…,’ revealed Koerber to undercover Project Veritas journalists.”

  • Tenn. Bill to Nullify Supreme Court Marriage Ruling Dies — but Fight Lives on

    552042_lowBy Selwyn Duke

With “each decision … unabashedly based not on law” the Court moves “one step closer to being reminded of [its] impotence,” Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia wrote last year. The warning was issued in his dissent from the Obergefell v. Hodges ruling, which sought to compel states nationwide to recognize faux marriage. But that inevitable reminder to the Court will have to wait in Tennessee, as a bill that would have directed state officials to defy the Supreme Court’s unconstitutional 2015 decision died in committee Wednesday. Nonetheless, the fight continues.

  • University Perversity: College to Have “Whiteness Shaming” Month

    Prejudice SignBy Selwyn Duke

You may think that, as Martin Luther King famously said, people should “not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.” But officials at Portland Community College (PCC) obviously don’t agree. The school has designated April “Whiteness History Month” (WHM), which, the initiative’swebsite informs, is not a “celebratory endeavor” as is “Black History Month” but seeks to challenge “the master narrative of race and racism through an exploration of the social construction of whiteness.” (yes, thems code words). SFGate.com provides more details on the program:

How much racism is baked into our society? Officials at an Oregon community college say the answer to that question may lie in studying "whiteness." … Diversity Council members have put out a call for contributions through panel discussion, film, lecture and seminar formats. They're looking for people to present on a broad array of topics, including "Who benefits from the consequences of whiteness? Who loses from whiteness?" and "What are the roles and responsibilities of white people and people of color in dismantling whiteness?"

Critics may note that who really benefit from “whiteness” are those getting paid to give courses and speeches about it. And what is “whiteness”? The WHM site is kind enough to explain…

  • Trump, Cruz and New York Values

    Dumbo, BrooklynBy Selwyn Duke

New York City values are going through the roof. And it’s not just real estate. A prime story the last many days has been the GOP debate dust-up between Donald Trump and Senator Ted Cruz. After the senator impugned “New York values” in an effort to call into question the businessman’s conservative bona fides, Trump responded with an impassioned defense of New Yorkers’ character. Trump won the exchange on style with rhetorical effectiveness, but, frankly, Cruz was right on substance.

This is not a commentary on whether Trump exemplifies NY values. In fact, I love most of what The Donald is saying; furthermore, while I have great respect for Cruz, the fact that no other candidate Thursday night could join Trump in supporting a halt to Muslim immigration — a common-sense measure — calls their qualifications for the presidency into question. But this isn’t a commentary on that, either, or on NY values, although I will touch on them. This article is about something far deeper.

  • Sweden Providing Marksmanship Training for Muslim Migrants

    Man in CrosshairsBy Selwyn Duke

While Barack Obama is pushing gun control in the United States and it is the order of the day in Europe, Sweden is putting guns in the hands of Muslim migrants. It’s all part of a government-funded target-shooting program intended to facilitate “integration.”

The effort actually began two years ago, but is just now being reported by certain English-speaking news outlets. And not surprisingly given the recent jihadi attacks in San Bernardino, Paris, and elsewhere, it’s raising some eyebrows — which, in turn, are raising other eyebrows.

American Thinker’s Carol Brown, for instance, calls the program “certifiably insane” and characterizes it as “sniper training.”

  • For Hillary, Sanders Is Ghost of Elections Past

    Sanders-Clinton-AP ImageBy Selwyn Duke

“So what does it say about our country that a candidate who is a self-avowed socialist … could be the Democratic nominee?” asked moderator Maria Bartiromo at Thursday’s GOP presidential debate. She was, of course, referring to Vermont senator Bernie Sanders, who now leads Hillary Clinton in New Hampshire primary polling. And his rise says nothing good about our country — or about Clinton.

As for Clinton, she just might be having flashbacks. In 2008, she was the presumptive Democrat nominee, poised to make history as our first female president. Instead, Barack Obama, four years after he said he was too inexperienced to run in four years, became the man the media was looking for and made some history of his own. Now Clinton’s dreams may be dashed again, this time by a candidate who’s as different from Obama superficially as he’s similar substantively. Sanders is old, more wizened than wise, in an age of youth; and he’s a white male, hailing from the whitest state in the nation, in an age of quota Democrat candidates. Yet ideologically they’re kissin’ cousins: Sanders is an out socialist, Obama a closeted one, having been a member of the socialist New Party in the 1990s. And a 2007 analysis of the most left-wing Senate voting records placed Obama at number one — ahead of even Sanders.

But the order of the day is anti-establishment fervor, and just as Donald Trump is that spirit’s choice on the GOP side, Sanders is capturing the imaginations of disenchanted Democrat millions. And, let’s face it, nothing smacks of the establishment old guard like the name Clinton (except the name Bush).
