We now live, some would say, in an upside-down world. Back in 1934, police ambushed criminals Bonnie and Clyde by a remote highway, firing approximately 130 rounds. There were so many holes in the corpses, the undertaker later said, that he had trouble embalming them. But the cops didn’t end up in prison, and nobody said the government and larger society should be sorry about the pair’s plight. They were infamous lawbreakers, after all.

Yet today police can become infamous if they treat criminals just a bit too roughly — or even merely do their jobs. An example is miscreant George Floyd’s 2020 death, whose five-year anniversary occurred on Memorial Day.

And, boy, is he ever being memorialized. Just consider an article at left-wing Salon by one Taylor Carik. “Minneapolis isn’t sorry about George Floyd,” Carik laments and scolds. Yet he’s not surprised because, as he explains, Minnesota is “The Jim Crow of the North.” We don’t know if Carik wrote this with a straight face. But it’s likely as true as Minnesota Governor Tim Walz’s claim that conservatives find his masculinity intimidating.

  • Nevada Official Admits Hiding “Trans” Castration Surgeries From Parents

    Sex Symbols-ConfusionBy Selwyn Duke

“Let’s keep this our little secret,” child predators sometimes tell their victims. This apparently was the attitude, too, of a Nevada official who was hiding youth “trans” castration surgeries from parents. This man was also using a loophole to get Medicaid (our tax dollars) to pay for the sexual-distortion treatments (SDTs).

This time, however, the dark secret has been brought to light, by an undercover operation by O’Keefe Media Group (OMG). As that organization reported Friday (note: the official, being woke, uses the wrong pronouns to identify a cited youth):

  • Democratic Former Gov. Blagojevich: Democrats Are “Monumental” “Hypocrites” and “Liars”

    PinnochioBy Selwyn Duke

It’s quite something when a politics devotee confesses that his own party and the Truth don’t share the same address. This happened in 2016, when Democratic operative and vote fraudster Scott Foval admitted that there’s a higher “level of adherence to rules on the other side [Republicans].” But while Foval only let the Truth slip on hidden video, that’s not the case with Democratic former Governor Rod Blagojevich.

In fact, the ex-Illinois head said in a recent interview, “Democrats are hypocrites, and they are liars on a monumental scale.” Blagojevich didn’t hold back on declaring who was the Prince of Prevarication, either.

“The king of the Democratic liars is [California Senator] Adam Schiff,” he said. “If there was a hall of fame for liars … Adam Schiff would be Elvis.”

  • Should Once-colonized Lands Thank God for Their Colonizers?

    Map of NigeriaBy Selwyn Duke

Years ago I had an African friend, from Zambia, who mentioned his participation in a school debate on colonialism. He took the position that it was a net positive for his land.

Then there was the Indian man I knew who despised Mohandas Gandhi (whose image is far different from the reality). He said, spewing a tad of venom, that Gandhi’s expulsion of the British left India denuded of expertise.

Of course, these two individuals’ views probably didn’t represent consensus opinion in their countries. They might, however, represent something else: reality.

  • The Yawning Electorate: “Black Fatigue” in America Is Real — and Intensifying

Two Black Men ArguingBy Selwyn Duke

In case you missed it, and the most blessed among us did, Sunday was the fifth anniversary of George Floyd’s death. Activists who didn’t succeed in getting police defunded, and others, gathered to mark the event and have a complaint-fest. Race hustler “Reverend” Al Sharpton, for example, compared Floyd’s plight to that of 14-year-old lynching victim Emmett Till.

“What Emmett Till was in his time,” Sharpton said in Houston, “George Floyd has been for this time in history.”

Mind you, Floyd was a criminal strung out on drugs, who was resisting arrest, when he died in Minneapolis. Till was at worst a cheeky adolescent boy who ran into the wrong people while visiting relatives in Mississippi. But, yes, Sharpton is right: There are similarities (i.e., both individuals are rumored to have drunk water at some point in their lives).

To such racial agitation, though, there’s increasingly a certain profound reaction.

    Yawn.

This phenomenon has a name, too: “black fatigue.”

  • Trump, His New MAGA Critics, and the “Art of the Possible”

When Grandma Sarah was saved from Comanchero thugs by the eponymous main character in the film The Outlaw Josey Wales (1976), she wasn’t entirely happy. “This Mr. Wales is a cold-blooded killer,” she told the Indian Lone Watie, who’d been abducted with her. “He’s from Missouri, where they’re all known to be killers of innocent men, women, and children.”

“Would you rather be riding with Comancheros, Granny?” Lone Watie responded, waxing rhetorical.

“No, I wouldn’t,” Grandma Sarah confessed, seemingly having to almost pry open her own mouth to utter the words.

Ah, prejudice and expectations. Wales wasn’t the savior Granny wanted; he also wasn’t the savior she feared. But he was the only savior she was going to get — and he got the job done.

This comes to mind when pondering recent MAGA criticism of President Donald Trump over his perceived failures. You’ve likely heard the complaints. Maybe you’ve even leveled some. Where are the pre-dawn raids on the homes of swamp creatures such as James Comey (as happened with Roger Stone)? What’s Attorney General Pam Bondi doing? Is she just another Establishment plant? What of the FBI’s Kash Patel and Dan Bongino and the Jeffrey Epstein conclusion? Have “they” gotten to these guys? While I doubt this, there’s a better question:

What has gotten to the critics? What spirit, that is.

  • Study: In Germany, Foreign-born Muslim Women Are MORE Violent Than German Men

    Muslim Holding SwordBy Selwyn Duke

We’ve been told by our “betters,” in a variety of ways, that the (actually long-extinct) thing called the Western “patriarchy” imperils women. Why, the miniseries Adolescence instructs that what you really must fear, Karen, are cute little 13-year-old English boys. But new data out of Germany, relating to a recent-years crime spike, tell a different tale.

In fact, a reports finds, it’s not just that the crime increase isn’t the fault of native German men. Nor is it just that the country’s recent male imports are inordinately violent (though they are).

It’s that even foreign-born Muslim women (and some other female groups) are more violent than indigenous German men.

  • Goodbye, De-policing? Trump DOJ Takes Biden’s Knee Off Police Departments’ Necks

    Police CruiserBy Selwyn Duke

Call it, maybe, an example of Making Policing Great Again. A troubling step toward the federalization of local law enforcement taken by the Biden administration has just been reversed by the Trump administration. The issue concerns “consent degrees,” court-enforced agreements that allow the Washington leviathan to monitor and control local police. Such control is contrary to the Constitution, of course. It’s quite necessary, though, if the feds are to have complete societal control.

  • Red Meat and Hot Cars: Men, Not Women, Most Responsible for “Climate Change,” Study Claims

    Angry BusinesswomanBy Selwyn Duke

Man, oh man, is there any woe a toxically masculine man isn’t responsible for today? The recent miniseries Adolescence, for instance, put the onus for much anti-female violence on the “manosphere.” And now we learn that, supposedly, the manosphere also mucks up the atmosphere, with a new study linking men to higher CO2 emissions.

Strangely enough, too, news outlets say “higher CO2 emissions” like it’s a bad thing.

  • Study: Most Americans Are “Unbiblical” Moral Relativists — and It Invites Tyranny

    Truth vs. RelativismBy Selwyn Duke

Addressing a large group of arrivals in Hell, the Devil said, reassuringly, “You’ll find there’s no right or wrong here. Just what works for you.” That scene, presented on a 1977 New Yorker magazine cover, well epitomizes our time, a new study has found. In fact, the research shows, most Americans reject moral absolutes — this is true even of most U.S. “Christians.”

As a consequence, to make what some call “moral decisions,” most Americans don’t actually seek to discern morality. Rather, 74 percent rely on their “feelings.”
