Fire Chief Sacked for Writing Book With Christian View of Homosexuality

The Atlanta government may not yet be burning books, but they sure burned a man who wrote one. The Georgia city’s mayor, Kasim Reed, announced Tuesday that he had terminated Fire Chief Kelvin Cochran. The reason?

Cochran expressed disapproval of homosexual behavior in a self-published book.

The chief had already endured a 30-day suspension without pay after the book, entitled Who Told You That You Were Naked?, was brought to light by a retired, openly lesbian Atlanta Fire Department captain named Cindy Thompson. The book, which concerns the importance of Christ’s salvation, expresses many authentic Christian beliefs, including the lines that raised homosexual activists’ ire:

Racial Bias: Police More Willing to Shoot Whites, Study Shows

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio is notorious for giving his black son “the talk” — a warning about how his race will cause police to react to him. But it now appears his talk should have been in the nature of a reassurance, because a scientific study indicates that police are actually less likely to shoot black suspects.

The study, out of Washington State University (WSU), was conducted by lead researcher Professor Lois James and her collaborators, professors David Klinger and Bryan Vila. First published online May 22, 2014 in the Journal of Experimental Criminology, it was largely ignored but has taken on new relevance in the wake of the recently publicized deaths of black criminal suspects in confrontations with police. White Man With Pellet Gun Shot Dead by Cops; Media Silent

White is right — in activists’ book.

That is, the right color to ignore when it comes to stories of people shot by police.

So says American Thinker editor Rick Moran while reporting on the shooting of a pellet-gun wielding white man on Sunday by San Francisco police. The Washington Post describes the incident:

The shooting occurred in the parking lot of the San Francisco Police Department’s Mission Station [at 5:20 p.m. PT]. In a statement, the department said that the confrontation began when police sergeants asked a man in the station’s restricted lot to leave. Instead, the man stood in the middle of the driveway blocking their exit, police said.

When the sergeants approached him again, asking the man to take his hands out of his shirt pockets, they said they saw “what appeared to be the butt of a handgun” sticking out from his waistband, the statement said.

“Fearing for their safety and in defense of their lives, the sergeants drew their service weapons as the suspect pulled the weapon” out, the police statement said. Two sergeants shot and hit the man three times. He was declared dead at San Francisco General Hospital shortly before 8 p.m.

Police later learned that the man had an air gun, or a replica gun, they said.

The facts of the case certainly appear to support the police’s actions. The beef Moran and other critics have is that when the races of victims in shooting incidents are reversed, the facts no longer seem to matter.

Freedom Burning: Censorship and Submission in Islam’s Name

“Islam in a man is like rabies in a dog,” said famed British statesman Winston Churchill.

“Islam is a religion of peace,” said contemporary British statesman David Cameron.

These two statements, both uttered by men who were or would become British prime minister, are separated by more than 100 years in time — and 1,000 light years in ideology. For you can be arrested for quoting Churchill’s comment in today’s U.K.

That’s what happened to Liberty GB leader Paul Weston early last year. He was ultimately charged with a “Racially Aggravated Crime” after he publicly read Churchill writings critical of Islam. And such persecution isn’t limited to Britain. As Winston himself might say, from Stockholm in the Baltic to Tamworth near the Tasman Sea, an iron burka has descended across the West.

Obama Advisor Gruber in 2009: ObamaCare Unaffordable, Rationing (a.k.a. Death Panels) Inevitable

ObamaCare is technically known as the Affordable Care Act, but it has now been revealed that legislation architect Jonathan Gruber admitted in 2009 that the bill would be anything but affordable. In fact, he said it lacked cost controls and that, inevitably, certain individuals would have to be denied care — all while Barack Obama was telling voters just the opposite.

Gruber, a Massachusetts Institute of Technology economics professor, instantly became one of America’s most disliked elitists early last month when a 2013 video clip was uncovered in which he said that “a lack of transparency” and the “stupidity of the American voter” had enabled ObamaCare to pass. Now an October 2009 policy brief, presented by the Daily Caller, provides more details of the deception.

“Everything is Awesome” in America? So Says Liberal Writer

“Everything Is Awesome!” is the title of a recent Politico piece on the American economy by liberal Michael Grunwald. And although it’s not followed by LEGO song lyric “Everything is awesome when we're living our dream,” some would say he certainly is dreaming.

Much like the children’s movie Grunwald seems to be quoting, the author opens his piece with what many would say is pure fiction, writing, “Good news! The U.S. economy grew at a rollicking 5 percent rate in the third quarter.” Yes, that’s what the Commerce Department’s Bureau of Economic Analysis now tells us; what it’s not telling us is that the rate is the result of creative accounting. In fact, it’s a cooked figure that was predicted by Zero Hedge’s Tyler Durden six months ago.

Mary was Raped? The Leftist Christmas Grinches Are at It Again

It’s bad enough when a Muslim cleric states that one must not say “Merry Christmas” and that doing so is worse than “killing someone,” as an Islamic “scholar” I recently cited did. But then we have the people born into the Christian tradition who join the anti-yuletide chorus, albeit with a tad more subtlety (usually).

This is generally typified by those objecting to store employees wishing others “Merry Christmas” or to having Nativity displays on public property, but now we have a new twisted twist:

Some liberals are saying that the Virgin Mary was raped.

Tolerance Police: Churches Should Sing Islamic Songs at Christmastime

’Tis the season for abject folly?

There has long been a movement to ban authentic Christmas carols from American schools. Now some German politicians and religious leaders are recommending that Muslim “carols” be sung in some of their institutions — their churches — during Christmas services.

The idea, which supposedly would increase “tolerance,” also involves the singing of Christian songs in mosques.

Of course, critics would point out that the two actions are not equivalent, since no Muslim high holy day falls on the 25th. Many would also suspect that church leaders are far more likely to entertain the idea than are Muslim ones; this seems especially true since only the Imam sings during Islamic services.

The idea is a response to the burgeoning PEGIDA movement. Loosely translated as “Patriotic Europeans Against the Islamization of the West”….

Liberal Lies Killed the Two NYC Cops

“They have blood on their hands,” said former NYC police commissioner Bernard Kerik, of Mayor Bill de Blasio, Al Sharpton and “all those who encouraged this anti-cop, racist mentality.” He was, of course, commenting on the heinous assassinations of the two NYPD officers this weekend. “All those who encouraged,” by the way, would include Barack Obama and Eric Holder.

Virtually all the mainstream media.

And most of academia.

Liberals lied and people died.

Leftist Lies — killing people for 225 years (I’m starting with the French Revolution).

Of course, liberals now are doing damage control after their damage inducement. Al Sharpton, the race-baiting, rabble-rousing reprobate, was given space by New York’s Daily News to claim he was “outraged and saddened by the deaths of these police officers” and that at “every rally and every march” he has “stressed nonviolence and peaceful protests.”

We noticed that on his “Million Marchers” day (Dec. 13) when “protesters” in NYC chanted “What do we want? Dead cops! When do we want it? Now!”

We noticed it also when, in the Washington, D.C. march Sharpie Sharpton led himself, his followers repeatedly uttered the word “peace” — within the context of the chant “No justice, no peace!”

And we noticed it when Sharpton called the owner of Freddy’s Fashion Mart a “white interloper” and incited the 1995 massacre there during which seven innocents died.

Then we had NAACP President Cornell William Brooks on CBS's "Face the Nation" saying it was “unfair” to link the NYC killings, by Ismaaiyl Abdullah Brinsley, to Obama, Holder and Bolshevik Bill de Blasio.

Except that Brinsley made clear via his Instagram account that his deadly plan was “retribution” for the Michael Brown and Eric Garner deaths.
