• Canada Fines Amish $300K for Not Using Covid App on Smartphones They Don’t Have

Big Man Stepping on Small ManBy Selwyn Duke

It’s right up there, or down there, with kicking puppies and putting kittens in clothes dryers. How else, after all, would you characterize the tormenting of the Amish, everyone’s favorite quaint, pacifistic Luddites? Well, there is another way — as something Justin Trudeau’s Canada is currently doing.

The story, which broke a month ago, is striking. Ontario’s Amish community is being fined $300,000 ($222,660 U.S.) for not downloading the Canadian government’s Covid app. This is even though Covid fear is about as far past its sell-by date as Joe Biden is. It’s even though religious freedom is supposed to be a priority in Western nations. And, for a kicker, it’s even though the Amish reportedly don’t use the smartphones necessary for downloading the app.

The story also has wider implications. As American Thinker points out, it’s “a preview of coming attractions if Kamala becomes president.” That is, given enough power, U.S. leftists would behave just as their Great White North comrades do. They’d tyrannize us — for our own good, of course.

  • Bill Nye Backs Kamala, Touts Her “Climate” Policy and “The Science™”

Back to School DuncecapBy Selwyn Duke

When hearing “Follow the science,” many once-bitten-twice-shy skeptics have learned, you should perhaps follow the money. Or maybe the power.

    Or both.

This perhaps could come to mind with news that TV “scientist” Bill Nye is following Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris. In fact, says Nye, you should vote for her because “science isn’t partisan. It’s patriotic.”

  • Do Defenders of the Chevron Doctrine Believe in a Government of, by, and for the People?

Boot on Declaration of IndependenceBy Selwyn Duke

Would you side with Chevron deference, or constitutional diligence? The establishment, including the mainstream media and Democratic Party, has made up its mind. To them, the “Chevron doctrine’s” demise, which takes the matter of settling ambiguous law’s meaning out of bureaucrats’ hands and places it back in judges’ laps, represents a crisis. Forget people having their day in court. Forget constitutional governance — or even the “democracy” the Left normally touts. They want technocracy.

A good example is an article at ProPublica, which, ironically, calls itself “a nonprofit newsroom that investigates abuses of power.” “A Supreme Court Justice Warned That a Ruling [on the Chevron doctrine] Would Cause ‘Large-Scale Disruption,’” a recent title reads. “The Effects Are Already Being Felt.”

    Well, one would hope.

  • The LEGAL Election Rigging That’s Stealing Our “Democracy”

    874847_lowBy Selwyn Duke

There’s much talk today about “threats to our democracy.” Yet do you know that foreign entities such as China, Russia, and Iran are feeding mis- and dis-information to the American electorate in order to influence our political outcomes? When the USSR did this (without having social media as vehicles), it was called it “subversion” or, as the Soviets put it, “active measures.”

Add to this how a study found that mainstream media bias increases the Democratic presidential candidate’s vote share by eight to 10 points every election. Also add how another study found that Big Tech bias can shift up to 15 million votes toward a favored presidential candidate. It all raises a question.

  • Motherhood: A Higher Calling

    C61aacaa-94fd-4169-98cf-d56dffd9782eBy Selwyn Duke

What is the most important job in the world? Is it being the president of the United States? Is it being a scientist working on cold fusion, now considered the “holy grail” of energy innovation? Is it toiling away as a researcher seeking a cure for cancer? Is it being a military general, protecting the homefront from external enemies? While all these jobs matter, a lot, they all pale in comparison to another job: That of the person who gives birth to and helps raise the presidents, scientists, researchers, and generals: mother.

This is because motherhood isn’t just a job, or even just an adventure. It’s a calling.

  • The Roman Empire Followed Our Path of Mass Migration — and DIED

Migrants Streaming Across BorderBy Selwyn Duke

Empire and the Roman Empire were contemporaneous and peaked at about the same time close to 2,000 years ago. But China is still around.

The Roman Empire is long gone.

The difference? “China is often considered one of the most politically, culturally, and linguistically monolithic countries in the world,” writes LitCharts.com. In other words, through famines, pestilence, bad governments, and other disasters, the Chinese people, language, and culture always remained.

  • Coca-Cola’s New Diversity Goals Would Force It to REDUCE Its Black Workers by 30%

Back to School DuncecapBy Selwyn Duke

With 2021 diversity training, Coca-Cola earned the moniker “Woka-Cola” by advising employees to “try to be less white.” But now the company may become more white. That will be the result, anyway, if Coke follows through on a pledge to enforce new diversity goals.

That is, to align their employee racial, ethnic, and sexual demographics with U.S. census data.

Meeting these goals would require the company to cut its black-employee representation by 31 percent. Asian-descent hires would also be reduced — by 33 percent.

  • Claim: Democrats Are the ENEMIES of Women and Girls

    Homemaker Cooking1By Selwyn Duke

In 2020, women voted for Joe Biden over President Trump by a percentage margin of 55-44. This “sex gap” was even greater in the 2018 midterms, where women supported Democrats over Republicans 59-40. So it’s not surprising that this campaign season the Democrats are, as always, trying to marshal female support. They do this by claiming that while their GOP opponents are “anti-woman,” they are pros at being pro-woman. (Even if they can’t define what one is.) But this is pure projection, says one commentator.

In fact, observes Jack Hellner, “Democrats don’t support women and girls.” (The Republicans do. More on that later.)

They sure want everyone to think they do, though, is his point.

Democrats are so desperate to frighten women into supporting them, in fact, that they sometimes even assert that the GOP wants to outlaw contraception and in vitro fertilization. (Of course, no such proposal exists — anywhere.) But their main claim to female-defender fame is abortion, points out Hellner.

  • Inflation Is “Like Alcoholism.” How Drunk Are We? Our Money Supply Rose 40% in 4 Years

    Bag of MoneyBy Selwyn Duke

When asked in a recent ABC interview about how she’d combat higher prices, Kamala Harris had no answer. Instead, the Democratic presidential nominee went on about how she was raised a “middle class” kid (questionable) and, inexplicably, about how people in her neighborhood took pride in their lawns. But there’s a startling fact that Harris, Donald Trump, or anyone tackling this matter could and should mention.

The money supply has been increased more than 40 percent just since 2020.

Question: What happens when more than $6 trillion in extra money is floating around chasing approximately the same number of goods?

  • On Migrant Cat-eating, Are Media Eating the Truth and Spitting Out Lies?

    Two KittysBy Selwyn Duke

“Blaming Immigrants For Eating Pets Is An Old American Urban Legend,” reads a Sunday Forbes headline. We hear, too, that all the current stories about Haitians dining on cats and dogs is driven by “racism.” (Unsaid is that this accusation itself is driven, in part, by immigrationism.) But amidst all the cute cat memes, political imperatives, and ad hominem attacks, something is missing: intelligent conversation. And here’s reality:

Many cultures do have dog and/or cat on the menu. Would it be so surprising if at least a few immigrants from those cultures, at least for a time, continued this behavior?

In point of fact, there have been verified mainstream media news stories — out of California and Germany, for instance — of immigrants eating, respectively, a dog and a cat.

Moreover, it is a fact that animal sacrifice has become a growing problem in places such as New York City. In other words, there is a problem, however limited or widespread, involving some immigrants and animals.
