What happens when greentopian dogma meets discovery? We’re about to learn this with a finding that could send depressed environmentalists running for the lithium — and away from it.
That is, the discovery is that fracking wastewater contains massive amounts of lithium, an element necessary for the so-called “net-zero” technology of which greentopians are so fond. These ideologues find themselves facing a dilemma, however, because fracking is anathema to them.

Projection is a fascinating phenomenon. Certain people, ascribing to others the darkness pervading their own souls, are just certain that everyone is hiding skeletons and some secret life — it just has to be uncovered, is all. So perhaps the disappointment was profound when, after a hacker stole then-Alaska Governor Sarah Palin’s emails in 2008, they revealed that she was in private the same person as in public.
And now, 16 years later, a similar thing has happened with Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito (and Chief Justice John Roberts). After an activist who believes America may become a “Christian theocracy” secretly recorded the two justices at the Supreme Court Historical Society’s annual dinner on June 3, hoping to maneuver the men into damning admissions, the media sank its teeth into Alito’s responses. George Santos, the ex-GOP legislator expelled from Congress last year for, among other things, telling tall tales, must be wondering what he did wrong. Perhaps the answer is that he didn’t take lessons from the Master.

Westerners used to believe they were heirs to the greatest civilization to ever grace God’s green Earth. They then descended into a culturally relativistic mentality stating, “Who’s to say one civilization is better than another?” The next transition was a cynical, “Meh, we’re not so hot.” Then there was the full-bore hatred of Marxist and other left-wing revisionists who claimed the West was exploitative and inspired sentiments such as the ’80s chant, “Hey hey, ho ho, Western Civ has got to go.” But now, under an Oxford professor’s theory, it doesn’t have to go.

“It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool,” the old saying goes, “than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.” People should perhaps be mindful of this before publicly defending the indefensible — such as New York’s kangaroo-court conviction of President Trump.
One person who might’ve learned this the hard way is “journalist” and stand-up comedienne Francesca Fiorentini. Appearing recently on an episode of Piers Morgan Uncensored, funny-lady Fiorentini did get the fellow guests laughing — at her own expense — when she claimed Trump was convicted because he committed an actual crime but then could not, for the life of her, explain what that crime might be.

It’s a fascinating phenomenon, people hating a man so thoroughly, so intensely, so irrationally. The wrath showered upon the 45th president is so anomalous and extreme, in fact, that it even has a name: Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS). And it’s so befuddling that one of our time’s greatest psychologists has now weighed in on it.
In a recent interview with Fox News Digital, Canadian psychologist Dr. Jordan Peterson delved into the etiology of TDS and said that the “degree of animosity some people have for Trump is actually somewhat of a mystery to me. I can’t quite crack it.”

There is mob rule — and then there is glorified mob rule. The former is obvious, such as when an uncontrolled group of men summarily hangs a person without trial or due process. Glorified mob rule is subtler, possessing a thin veneer of propriety and legality, such as a “democratic” determination or action contrary to the rule of law.
An example of portraying mob rule as something nobler would be how Representative Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) called the 2011 left-wing-protester invasion of the Wisconsin Capitol — which became the longest demonstrator occupation of a government building in U.S. history — an “impressive show of democracy in action.” Pelosi isn’t alone in her party in this thinking, either, says one writer; rather, “mobocracy” is now the Democrats’ default mode.
