• Is Germany Becoming a Third World Country?

Migrants Streaming Across BorderBy Selwyn Duke

“There’s no England now,” stated the Kinks in 1984, in a song that, in part, lamented the 20th-century loss of English identity. Today, in the 21st century, perhaps it could be said that there’s no Germany now.

  • Stutterin’ Joe? Actually, He Was Once Called “The Great Talker”

    Radio MicrophoneBy Selwyn Duke

Self-delusion is an amazing thing. Despite Joe Biden’s nation-shocking debate performance, there are still those refusing to see that the emperor has no clothes. In particular, heard is the notion that “Biden isn’t cognitively impaired, no, no — he just has a stutter.” A longtime commenter at my website just asserted this with all sincerity on Wednesday. Then there was MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough and his wife, Mika Brzezinski, who had the following exchange on a recent episode of their show, Morning Joe:

  • Joe Biden’s Man Problem

    Man VotingBy Selwyn Duke

“C’mon, man!” would often be an exclamation used in place of argument for Joe Biden. But now he may want to say “C’mon, men!” — even though it likely won’t help. With what?

Biden is underwater with male voters, a phenomenon that has only worsened since his cognitive decline was on full display during the presidential debate.

In fact, Biden is even bleeding support among black and Hispanic men, two demographics that have traditionally supported him.

  • “Toxic Masculinity” Is a Toxic Fiction; “Stop Blaming Men,” Says Author

    Angry BusinesswomanBy Selwyn Duke

Overlapping with the “Enlightenment” and a reaction to it, the lesser-known “Romantic Period” (1790-1850, supposedly) stressed not reason but emotionalism and involved the exaltation of women. Over time this spirit metastasized into an attendant demonization of men; thus do we hear today about “toxic masculinity.” But this is essentially a toxic lie, says an author and life coach, pushed by media and other forces that portray men as society’s “bad guys.”

    Lack of Authentic Masculinity

In fact, says Michael Taylor, male “problems” are actually the result of the man “not being connected to his authentic masculinity.” But while Taylor takes on the spirit of our time, is he, like most moderns, losing sight of the timeless?

  • Study: WHO Data Show Surge in Covid-shot-related Heart Deaths

    Bad DoctorBy Selwyn Duke

It’s “as serious as a heart attack.”

In fact, it is a heart attack — or, at least, something related to it. Unfortunately, too many people haven’t taken seriously the issue of Covid-shot-related heart problems, even though evidence of their existence has been mounting for some time.

  • Leftist News Org Urges Biden Campaign to Use AI to Fool Public About Joe’s Senility

    874847_lowBy Selwyn Duke

“Fool me once, shame on you,” the saying goes; “fool me twice, it’s AI.”

Okay, that’s not really the saying, but it might be the reality with Joe Biden if his campaign acts on a leftist news organization’s advice:

Use artificial intelligence (AI) to trick the public into thinking Biden is not exhibiting decrepitude and dementia. This strategy would help neutralize the issue of his serious deterioration “while allowing the Biden campaign to effectively disseminate true information,” the counsel goes.

In other words, the end justifies the means.

(Unsaid is that the disseminated information would be largely untrue.)

  • Many Gen Zers Don’t Like America. Is It Surprising?

    Mixed-race StudentsBy Selwyn Duke

A recent survey found that 40 percent of Generation Z believes our Founding Fathers are more akin to villains than heroes. This stat is just a reflection, too, of a generation that studies show is the least patriotic in American history. In fact, laments one Gen Z (born between 1997 and 2012) member writing at the New York Post, while she’s a “Zoomer” who loves her country, “sometimes it feels like I’m the only one.”

Young Rikki Schlott isn’t surprised by this reality, stating that her generation has never been taught why they should love their country; in fact, they’ve been taught why they should hate it. From “what I remember of my own US history courses,” she writes, “there was a lot more self-flagellation for our country’s shortcomings than celebration of our strengths.”

  • “Russia Is Bluffing” Could Be a World-ending Miscalculation, Warns Expert

    Nuclear BlastBy Selwyn Duke

Before going all in and betting the house on a poker hand, in the belief your opponent is bluffing, you’d better hope your judgment is sound. You should know that it’s not warped by self-delusion, by wishful thinking, or projection. You’d also better make sure the cost-benefit analysis justifies the risk, that you’re not betting your house against an illusion.

Of course, lose the hand and you still live to fight another day. This is not the case with our involvement in the Russia-Ukraine war and our assumption that Vladimir Putin is all talk, no action. And now as we inch closer to nuclear war, a foreign policy analyst becomes one of the latest to warn with regard to Moscow’s red-line threats, “Russia is not bluffing.”

  • Marine Le Pen Challenges CNN on “Far-right” Label

Back to School DuncecapBy Selwyn Duke

A jockey will appear a giant in a land of Lilliputians, an ordinary face will be thought beauty in a tribe of beasts — and anything will seem “far right” to CNN. One person who might agree with this, too, after being interviewed on the network, is French politician Marine Le Pen.

Le Pen, now a figurehead of her country’s National Rally (NR) party, recently pushed back on CNN interviewer Christiane Amanpour after the latter described her party as “far right” and “very scary.” Of course, it’s standard for mainstream media to characterize anyone or anything more “conservative” than itself as “far right.”

  • “Rejoice!” Says Writer, and Celebrate Independence From Chevron Tyranny

    American Eagle-OriginalBy Selwyn Duke

Would you want to be ruled by a government of unelected Anthony Faucis? It’s a relevant question because, although it’s seldom framed this way, that’s precisely what the “Chevron doctrine” gave us for 40 years. Overturning almost 200 years of precedent — the precedent whereby our elected representatives made law and, if it was ambiguous, people could at least have their day in court and see the matter adjudicated — Chevron transformed the federal bureaucracy into a de facto fourth branch of government. This ever-burgeoning entity’s shadowy, unelected members could by bureaucratic fiat hand down rules micromanaging our lives, and we had no recourse. It was “Go fight City Hall.”
