Liberal pundit and host of "Hardball," Chris Matthews, has actually run afoul of the politically-correct thought police. I have no use for Matthews’ commentary and generally don’t watch his show, but, not surprisingly, this is one of the few times I agree with him.

World Net Daily had a startling story about the mercury danger posed by the new CFL light bulbs. Those are the ones environmentalists are trying to ram down our throats through regulation. It seems that if you break even just one in your home, you’re going to have to spend $2000 to have a hazardous materials abatement service clean up the mess.
If you think I exaggerate, talk to Brandy Bridges; her daughter’s bedroom had to be sealed off until she could afford the clean-up costs.

Although I’m not fond of psycho-babble terminology, if we can speak of emotional IQ, I can say it’s not very high in general. We live in the age of Oprah — who has an encounter group masquerading as a TV talk show — the age of "I feel your pain." Thus, it’s not surprising that people are taken in by emotional contrivances, such as a candidate who sheds opportune tears.

After Barack Hussein Obama’s win in Iowa, many in the media were speaking of Hillary Clinton’s imminent demise. It might have seemed that in an effort to manufacture a story, her epitaph had been written prematurely. Yes, Obama was poised to duplicate his resounding Iowa victory in New Hampshire, but Lady Macbeth was still ahead nationally by an average of about 20 points, a margin she had held since the campaign’s start. Yet, Obama has now leap-frogged Clinton in South Carolina polls and, more significantly, runs even with her nationally in the latest Gallup poll.

DNA technology has been an invaluable crime-fighting tool, allowing law enforcement to identify both the innocent and the guilty. And since it has been so welcomed by authorities, molecular biologist Tony Frudakis had every reason to believe that his great advance in suspect identification — called "DNAWitness" — would be well received. But this was not the case.
