• Reparations Idea: Blacks Shouldn’t Have to Pay Taxes, Dem Congresswoman Muses

    Failure FigureBy Selwyn Duke

We’ve already heard the suggestion that black Americans’ votes should be worth twice those of their white countrymen as a form of reparations. We’ve also heard an economist estimate that providing full monetary reparations to blacks would cost approximately $14 trillion. Now there’s another brilliant reparations idea, one related by a black congresswoman:

Blacks could be exempt from paying taxes to compensate them for slavery.

The politician, freshman representative Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas), did have one practical objection to the proposal, however:

Many struggling black Americans already don’t pay taxes, Crockett said — so it may be better to just hand those people checks.

  • FBI Fakery? Crime Is Higher Than “Data” Show, Analysts’ Report Finds

    Shell GameBy Selwyn Duke

“Most people think the U.S. crime rate is rising. They’re wrong,” proclaimed an NBC headline this past December. Citing “new FBI data,” the outlet was essentially telling Americans that they shouldn’t believe their lyin’ eyes. But, it turns out, it’s the data themselves that may be deceptive.

This is the conclusion of the Coalition for Law Order & Safety, an independent group of law enforcement officials and analysts. In their April 2024 report, “Assessing America’s Crime Crisis: Trends, Causes, and Consequences,” they identify “four potential causes for the increase in crime in most major cities across the U.S.: de-policing, de-carceration, de-prosecution and politicization of the criminal justice system,” related Fox News Monday.

  • Atheism’s “Terrible New Gods”

    Religion-AtheismBy Selwyn Duke

Many years ago, I read a quite rational atheist commenter online who said that while he didn’t believe in God, he feared what a de-Christianized West would bring. Now, a couple of decades later, he’s perhaps joined in that sentiment by the man who’s probably the world’s most famous living atheist, evolutionary biologist Richard Dawkins.

On British talk-radio station LBC recently, Dawkins admitted that he enjoys living in a Christian society and considers himself a “cultural Christian.” While this isn’t exactly a road-to-Damascus moment, it’s nonetheless quite an admission from a once staunchly militant atheist most famous for writing the 2006 book The God Delusion.

Yet Dawkins now exhibits the have-your-cultural-cake-and-eat-it-too delusion. His contradiction, however, is many people’s — and his story holds a lesson we ignore at our peril.

  • Botswana Threatens “Elephant War” on Germany

    Elephant herdBy Selwyn Duke

Famed general Hannibal Barca set out to invade his day’s greatest European power, Rome, with 37 elephants. Today, 2,200 years later, Botswana is making him look like a piker, floating the idea of sending 20,000 pachyderms to our time’s greatest European economic power, Germany. And though this is a war of words and not swords, it’s an interesting story that teaches an important economics/conservation lesson.

  • Letitia James Is Killing a Conservative Website With Chilling Anti-free-speech Lawfare

    Silenced ManBy Selwyn Duke

It’s almost 20 years ago now that I wrote an essay, which raised some eyebrows and was even reprinted, titled “How We Will Lose Our Freedom of Speech.” What it predicts hasn’t yet come to pass, but we are well down the iron-muzzle rabbit hole. Good examples are a climate alarmist and a Harvard “dishonesty researcher” who are using process-is-punishment lawfare to silence critics. Now there’s another tongue-stilling effort on this front, too:

Letitia James, the notorious New York attorney general who tag-teamed with a judge to try to pummel President Trump, is destroying a conservative website.

  • Madonna and the Devil: Are Many of Entertainment’s Biggest Stars Satanists?

    Satanic CultBy Selwyn Duke

Whether you consider Satan sinister spirit or symbol, he’s assuredly in style. A good example is the 2016-2021 series Lucifer; a more recent one is a concert put on by aging pop star Madonna, an event including a reportedly blasphemous use of a prayer hymn that narrates Jesus’s crucifixion.

Of course, many will dismiss this as being more marketing than malevolence. But then there’s this:

There’s also an allegation that many of entertainment’s biggest stars are satanists.

Does this matter, that what symbolizes pure evil in Western tradition is being normalized as a source of pleasure? Is it not, some may wonder, like legitimizing Nazism and making it chic?

  • RFK, Jr.: Biden “Absolutely” a WORSE Threat to Democracy Than Trump

Boot on Declaration of IndependenceBy Selwyn Duke

Playing on the politics of fear, a major Democratic and media talking point has been that you’d better not vote for President Trump in November because he’s “a threat to democracy.” But not so fast, says a scion of a famed Democratic family: It is Joe Biden, not Trump, who truly threatens our Republic.

This is mainly because, says now-Independent White House contender Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., Biden is the first American president to target and censor political opponents.

Kennedy ought to know, too — he’s been one of Biden’s targets.

  • 11 Million Illegals? Reality: 40-60 Million “GOT AWAYS” Since ’95, Says Ex-Border Patrol Agent

Migrants Streaming Across BorderBy Selwyn Duke

We’ve all heard the number: “There are 11 million illegal aliens in the United States.” Yet this figure isn’t just illusory, says an ex-U.S. Border Patrol agent — it’s laughable.

In fact, even the 22.1 million illegals a 2018 MIT study estimated were squatting in our country may be a low-end number, according to Mark A. Hewitt. After all, with approximately one million apprehensions and two million “GOT AWAYS” yearly, he calculates that there’ve been a whopping 40 to 60 million got aways alone since his time entering the USBP, in 1995.

  • States Biden Won in 2020 Lead — in Religious Discrimination Complaints

    Prejudice SignBy Selwyn Duke

Liberalism, it is claimed, is associated with tolerance. But you wouldn’t know it from a new study finding that of the 10 states with the most religious-discrimination complaints filed with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), eight gave their electoral votes to Joe Biden in 2020.

Not surprisingly, there’s a secularism connection, too: Of the 15 states with the most religious discrimination complaints, 11 are among the 15 most atheistic states. A prime example is Maine, which ranks one in religious-discrimination complaints and two in non-religious-population percentage.
