A new study has found that the old conservative-embraced stereotype of the well-meaning but naive liberal may not be correct.

That is, the “well-meaning” part.

This latest research was conducted in Germany and, focusing on environmental activists in particular, sought to discover if there was an association between their activism and the negative personality traits constituting the “dark triad” as well as those linked to left-wing authoritarianism. Published in the journal Personality and Individual Differences, the study was released almost exactly a year after similar research found that devoted leftists are often narcissists and sociopaths.

It has already been said that qualities such as punctuality and industriousness are “white norms” that shouldn’t be expected of black students. Now here’s another entry for the “How Much More Can They Hobble the Black Community?” file:

Some “experts” are saying that professionalism at work — which they pejoratively call “code-switching” — takes a toll on black Americans and should not be expected of them. They should be able to “be themselves” in the workplace, is the idea.

If men are from Mars and women, Venus, as the famous book put it, then Venus is quite like California and Mars closer to Montana. This is more true than ever, too, with yet another study showing that Gen Z (born 1997-2012) women are far more liberal than the generation’s men — in fact, the females are now 30 points more left-wing.

There has long been in politics what’s called a “gender gap” (should be “sex” gap, actually), with women consistently being more liberal, and more likely to vote for Democrats, than men are. For example and expressed as a percentage, the 2018 midterms saw men support Republicans 51-47, but women break Democratic 59-40. Yet this already-large gap may be becoming a chasm, with a major reason being the sexes’ diverging beliefs on “gender” politics and feminism.

Socialist French President François Hollande once said publicly that he “hated the rich,” but reportedly had a habit of calling the poor “les sans dents” (“the toothless ones”) in private. Hollande was no outlier, either, according to English comedian, actor, and activist Russell Brand. In fact, said Brand in a recent interview with commentator Tucker Carlson, leftists absolutely despise the people they sometimes claim to champion: the working class.

As if Harvard’s problem with quota-hire plagiarists, United Airlines’ vow to prioritize “diversity” when retaining pilots, and today’s prevalent affirmative-action mentality aren’t enough, now there’s this:

The American Psychological Association (APA) is claiming, based on a study, that merit-based hiring is unfair.

Of course, it’s easier making this accusation stick when you confuse merit with credentials — which the APA apparently does.

If anything epitomizes our time, it just might be the image of a person shaking his fist at the heavens and screaming about the unfairness of it all. “How dare reality be reality!” is the idea. One manifestation of this is the spirit of entitlement of the less-competent insisting on being treated as more so.

Enter one Divya Deshmukh. Deshmukh is a great, and gorgeous, female chess player. But that’s not enough. Apparently feeling she’s been rooked by reality, she wants people to ignore her appearance and her lack of ability relative to the men.

Imagine this scenario: Someone sues you for defamation even though he may not think he can win. But that doesn’t matter. After all, someone else, with deep pockets, is covering his legal bills, and his goal may not involve winning.

Rather, he wants to break you.

He wants to keep you tied up in court so long, expending so many resources, that you’re bankrupted — or at least hobbled. What’s more, the action serves as a warning to others: Criticize me, and you could be next. It’s a type of “lawfare.”

It’s also exactly, it has been suggested, what climate alarmist Michael Mann is doing to two critics.

“It is ordained in the eternal constitution of things that men of intemperate minds cannot be free,” observed Anglo-Irish philosopher Edmund Burke. “Their passions forge their fetters.” In light of this, what are the implications of the reality that, according to a new poll, Gen Z is more likely to “identify” as having sexual devolutionary status (being “LGBTQ+”) than as being Republican or “white Christians”?

Is it any coincidence that Gen Z (born after 1996) is the most “progressive” and “pro-government” generation in American history?

If a group that murdered 100 million people in less than a century can’t be described as villainous, what can?

This question could be asked now that entertainment website ScreenRant has published, and MSN.com has publicized, an article lamenting how “wrong” it was for comic books to have portrayed communists as villains during the 1950s. In fact, ScreenRant writer Shaun Corley even saw fit to republish a 46-year-old mea culpa by a famed Marvel Comics writer who said he “regretted” being part of the “Red Scare.”

This growing tolerance of — and, in fact, affinity for — communism is nothing new. More than 15 years ago already I wrote about how Marxism was again winning converts in Japan, Germany, the United States, and elsewhere. So imagine that: Monsters can be resurrected when the entirety of a popular culture — media, academia, and entertainment — are continually breathing life into them.
