• How Compromised Is Biden? ‘China’ Revealing Hunter’s Bank Records Was ‘Threat,’ Says Senator

    Greedy ManBy Selwyn Duke

Sometimes drug-addled and overly coddled, Hunter Biden isn’t generally viewed as a font of competence. But when the prey is cash, an enormously effective Hunter he is.

This conclusion again suggests itself after a bank with offices in China gave Senate Republicans records evidencing that Hunter, and Joe Biden’s brother James, got millions of dollars from Chinese companies. What relevant expertise the Bidens could’ve possibly provided to justify such payments has not been reported. Apparently, say critics, what they could and did offer was the Biden name and the capacity to influence the U.S. government.

  • All of Washington State GOP Votes No, All Dems YES, to Allow Hiding Kids From Parents for “Sex Changes”

    Donkey-ElephantBy Selwyn Duke

Whose child is it, anyway? Some may thus wonder after the Washington state Legislature passed a bill that would enable government-licensed youth facilities to hide kids from parents so that the youngsters can proceed with sexual-distortion treatments (SDTs), euphemistically known as “gender-affirming care.”

This means that while schools perhaps mayn’t give a student an aspirin without parental consent, Washington would keep parents in the dark while their son underwent castration or their daughter had her breasts and/or uterus removed.

The bill, SB 5599, would also allow said facilities to hide girls from their parents while the former had abortions. In other words, if destroying bodies is the goal, the state is all in.

Or, at least, the state Democrats are. All the Democratic legislators voted yes on the bill, reports Washington journalist Katie Daviscourt. All the Republicans voted no. The party of life vs. the party of strife?

In fact, some Democrats are boasting about SB 5599.

  • Ice Cream May Actually be GOOD for You, Studies Show

    Ice-cream-g1195568fb_1920By Selwyn Duke

Is ice cream the ivermectin of the food world, something with profound health benefits that the medical establishment refuses to acknowledge? Perhaps not, in that no one is being censored or canceled for touting the frozen delight. Nonetheless, a number of studies show that ice cream has health benefits — and, try as they might, scientists have been unable thus far to debunk these findings.

Apropos to this, when I had a health and heart check-up approximately a year and a half ago, the medical professional handling matters told me that only one percent of people my age have blood-work numbers such as mine. “Whatever you’re doing,” he then remarked, “keep it up.” Without missing a beat, I replied:

“Well, what I’m doing is, I’m eating ice cream first thing in the morning — so I’ll keep it up.”

  • FBI Planted Undercover Agent in Catholic Church — to Develop Sources

    Church-MajesticBy Selwyn Duke

Were they concerned some rad-trad Catholic was going to strangle a modernist with his rosary beads? With leftists likening the rosary to an AR-15 last year, one could wonder. But the “they” here, the FBI, didn’t say. Truly shocking, however, is what it did recently do:

The agency recruited at least one “‘undercover employee’ to ‘develop sources among the clergy and church leadership.’”

So said Representative Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) on Monday, related National Review (NR). What’s more, the FBI justified its investigation of “radical traditionalist Catholics” with a report by the discredited Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC). This effort raises a question, too:

If this has happened to Catholics, what other innocent but politically incorrect religious groups could be FBI targets?

  • Time to Retrain “Implicit Bias Training”? Study Finds People Are Prejudiced Against MEN, Not Women

    Prejudice SignBy Selwyn Duke

For decades, the politically correct line has been that society is implicitly biased against women, non-whites, and an assortment of other “minority” groups. This alleged bias is said to lead to poorer social, health, educational, and career outcomes, even though in certain cases, minority groups may fare better than “majority” populations in these respects. What’s more, a billion-dollar “implicit bias training” industry has blossomed in a purported effort to eliminate these attitudes. But this training may itself need retraining, as a new study finds that there are implicit biases — and they’re largely the opposite from what we’ve been told.

In fact, the most significant bias researchers found was in favor of women and against men.

The study, involving almost 6,000 individuals….

  • When Liberals Admit They Don’t Know What Good is (Even Though They’ll Still Enforce it)

    Confusion-Traffic SignsBy Selwyn Duke

“Liberals claim to want to do good while also claiming to not know what the good is.” This was said, I believe, by late journalist Joseph Sobran. Whatever the authorship, however, it addresses a real phenomenon — one whose existence was just acknowledged, in so many words, by a liberal.

  • Why Are So Many Warning of a Coming Soviet-like Tyranny? Because It’s REALITY

Boot on Declaration of IndependenceBy Selwyn Duke

“You know, you really don’t look well.” It’s so often the case that by the time a great number of people notice a man’s ill health, the disease ailing him is already quite advanced — perhaps even terminal. So it is with nations.

Thus should it be alarming that it’s now common for even “sober” pundits to warn of what once was considered tinfoil-hat wackos’ domain: a tyranny about to descend on the “Land of the Free.”

Three of these warnings have appeared in just the past week: Soul-of-serenity historian Victor Davis Hanson penned an April 6 piece titled “Our French Revolution.” Three days earlier, American Thinker ran the headline “Democrats moving in for the kill.” And commentator Dennis Prager of PragerU fame wrote in a Friday title, “Could it happen here? It is happening here.”

  • Charles Barkley Calls WNBA, Which Loses $10 Million Yearly, “a Great Product”

Back to School DuncecapBy Selwyn Duke

Is basketball great Charles Barkley a socialist? He certainly talked a bit like one recently, though it wouldn’t really be fair to thus label him.

It’s more accurate to say he’s not very bright.

Complaining Sunday on something called The Bird and Taurasi Show that Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) players shouldn’t have to resort to offseason, international-league competition to supplement their incomes, Barkley criticized American business for not recognizing the WNBA’s supposed value.
