• This Should End Well: Harley-Davidson Vows to Go All-electric

Back to School DuncecapBy Selwyn Duke

A 300-pound, hairy wrestler in a pink tutu; ice cream and bacon; doughnuts and seafood. While certain things just don’t go together, all three preceding combinations may work better than what has just been called inevitable: Harley Davidson’s entire line of motorcycles going electric.

This was proclaimed the future of the storied motorcycle brand by none other than its CEO, Jochen Zeitz.

  • Post Dobbs, the Abortion Fight Marches On at March for Life

    By Selwyn Duke

“The next phase now begins.” So said House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-La.) while speaking to attendees at the March for Life (MfL), which took place on Friday in Washington, D.C. Instituted in 1974 to protest prenatal infanticide after the ’73 Roe v. Wade opinion, this year’s event was the first held since that unconstitutional decision was overturned last June. The MfL reflected this new climate, too, in theme and spirit.

  • Was the Air Travel “Ground Stop” the Work of Ransomware Hackers?

Boy Looking at JetBy Selwyn Duke

Last Wednesday, January 11, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) halted all United States domestic air travel due to the “failure” of its Notice To Air Missions (NOTAM) system the evening before. It was big news not just because of the profound inconvenience, but because it was NOTAM’s first ever failure and only the second time in history that a “ground stop” was implemented on all U.S. air travel, the first being on 9/11. Yet the news perhaps should have been even bigger still because of a very odd coincidence:

Just hours after the FAA’s ground stop, Canada’s NOTAM system also experienced an outage.

The FAA claimed this past Thursday that its problems were caused when an unnamed contractor “unintentionally deleted files.” But is this really the explanation?

  • Black Republican’s White Wife: Most Racist Attacks on Us “Are Always From the Left”

    Prejudice SignBy Selwyn Duke

“It was like being at a klan rally except the klansmen were wearing Abercrombie polos and Birkenstocks.” So wrote a black anti-Proposition 8 protester in 2008 while describing how other left-wing demonstrators had hurled the n-word at him — all because 70 percent of black Californians had supported the proposition. It may shock many that such bigotry comes from the side, “liberals,” billing itself as “anti-racist.” But it’s no surprise to Erika Donalds.

In fact, says the wife of Florida House Republican Byron Donalds, “The most racist attacks we experience are always from the Left.”

Erika, who is white, was addressing criticism she and her black husband have received from the woke brigade in the wake of the publicity Congressman Donalds recently enjoyed. Donalds was proposed as an alternative to Representative Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) during the contentious battle for Speaker of the House, which concluded with McCarthy’s victory on January 6.

  • Dress ’em Down: Democrats Once Again Oppose Equality

    Angry BusinesswomanBy Selwyn Duke

Just as hope is not a strategy, outrage is not an argument. This could come to mind with the Tuesday CBS News headline “Outrage after Missouri lawmakers’ new dress code for women in the state House.” The issue?

Female legislators will now be held to standards approximating those of their male colleagues.

And this relative equality is driving Democrat feminists nuts.

In fact, from some of the comments on the matter, you’d think the Taliban had arrived with full-length burkas.

  • Wisconsin GOP Takes Stand for Freedom: Suspends “Conversion Therapy” Ban

    Donkey-ElephantBy Selwyn Duke

The Wisconsin GOP has finally stopped being conservative — at least in one area. And that’s a good thing.

That is, “conservative” in the sense of conserving leftists’ mistakes. At issue is that State Assembly Republicans have blocked a freedom-squelching bureaucratic ban on reparative therapy (RT) for so-called LBGTQ individuals.

RT, generally referred to pejoratively as “conversion therapy” by mainstream media, seeks to rid people of unwanted homosexual or “transgender” feelings or those relating to other types of disordered sexuality. It has been outlawed in 20 states and D.C. — by the same type of activists who busy themselves trying to convert children into sexual devolutionaries in passions and practice.

The ban’s suspension was effected by the Joint Committee for Review of Administrative Rules, which passed the measure Thursday on a 6-4 party-line vote, with the GOP in the majority.

  • Racial-reparations Train Rolls On — Price Tag for “Closure”: $14 TRILLION

    Hammering AmericaBy Selwyn Duke

We are making progress “in the movement toward reparations” for the descendants of black slaves, said Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas) last week. The week before, a Duke University economist estimated that reparations sufficient to end black Americans’ “claims for race-specific restitution” would cost up to $14 trillion. (The U.S. economy’s total size was $25.72 trillion in the third quarter.) In this vein, San Francisco’s “reparations committee” just proposed that each longtime black resident be granted $5 million and total debt forgiveness. And across the Atlantic, a specific human target for reparations extraction has been identified.

No, it’s not Kamala Harris, whose own father conceded that their ancestors were slaveholders.

It’s British actor Benedict Cumberbatch, whose distant ancestors owned a Barbados slave plantation.
