• Dr. What? Med Students Pledge to Honor All “Marginalized” “Indigenous Ways of Healing”

    Bad DoctorBy Selwyn Duke

Approximately 20 years ago, a doctor I know well told me that the people entering her field are now “bottom of the barrel.” Fast-forward two decades and some are aiming to be top of the totem pole — as they’re taking an oath to “honor all Indigenous ways of healing historically marginalized by Western medicine” and fight “white supremacy, colonialism, gender binary, ableism and all forms of oppression.”

Worse still, the oath was apparently formulated by medical students themselves.

The pledge was made by incoming medical students at the University of Minnesota (UM)….

  • No Woke Jokes: 14 Judges Vow NOT to Hire Yale Law Grads

    Judge pounding GavelBy Selwyn Duke

Cancel culture is a doubled-edged sword. And Yale law graduates, 400 of whom shut down a free speech event earlier this year, may learn this the hard way now that 14 federal judges are taking a stand against their wokeness:

They have vowed not to hire law clerks from the intellectually degraded Ivy League school.

  • Monster’s Monstrous Lies: New Netflix Dahmer Series is an Anti-police Hit Job

    Dahmer Show ImageBy Selwyn Duke

The latest manifestation of America’s fascination with serial killers, the 10-part miniseries Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, has received much criticism. Some say the work glamorizes Dahmer (it doesn’t); others claim it exploits the victims, and some of their family members have complained; and yet others were upset that it originally bore an LGBTQ tag, with a psychologist “warning” that Monster could fuel fear that homosexuality is “abnormal.” But the biggest problem with the series is that it’s an anti-police hit job — and uses deception to achieve this end.

  • Survey: Students MORE Politically Divided Than General Population; 23% are LGBT

    Donkey-ElephantBy Selwyn Duke

If you think our country is politically polarized today, just wait some years.

It’s poised to get far worse.

Last month, The New American reported on the College Pulse’s Future of Politics (CPFP) study, which found that not only are college students the most politicized they’ve been since the late ’60s, but that the male/female voting gap (i.e., men support the GOP; women the Democrats) among them is wider than in the general population. Now another survey has found the same phenomenon — and more.

At issue is the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education (FIRE) campus study, which surveyed tens of thousands of students. Among it’s most striking findings is that 23 percent of them — a figure rising to 28 percent among female undergraduates — claim “LGBT” status. What’s more, as many as half the students at liberal arts colleges such as Smith and Wesleyan “identify” as non-heterosexual.

  • Survey: Students MORE Politically Divided Than General Population; Up to 50 Percent Are LGBT

  • “The Time Has Arrived”: Building on Same-sex “Marriage” Opinions, Judge Rules for Polygamy

    Sex Symbols-ConfusionBy Selwyn Duke

Our leftist social “engineers have not redefined marriage,” I wrote in 2012, repeating a warning I’ve often issued. “They have undefined it.” And “while they scoff at the claim that legalizing faux marriage paves the way for polygamy and everything else, an ‘undefinition’ excludes nothing,” I had pointed out in 2010. Of course, such observations were sloughed off with the oh-so intellectual argument “That won’t happen!” — except now it has, with a judge saying that perhaps “the time has arrived.”

  • Revisiting America’s Deadliest Shooting: What Really Was Killer Paddock’s Motive?

    Confusion-Traffic SignsBy Selwyn Duke

The tagline “What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas” shouldn’t apply to our nation’s absolute worst mass shooting. Yet five years after millionaire and avid gambler Stephen Paddock murdered 60 people and wounded 850, raining down terror from a Las Vegas high-rise window, we still don’t know his motive. This reality has, of course, given rise to conspiracy theories. But what if what drove Paddock is actually hiding in plain sight, caused by a phenomenon so common that it would never be suspected?

  • “Furious” Karen Mom Gives Son Woke Lecture Because He Got Attendance Award

    Politically CorrectBy Selwyn Duke

Sooner or later you must pay for every good deed? This may be the message one hapless boy got after he received a lecture from his woke mother — for getting an award for 100-percent school attendance. It was one incident, but it reflects a wider rot affecting our society.

At issue is a Tuesday piece written by mom Lauren Crosby at The Independent. She begins by telling us that her son came home “beaming with pride” last week because he’d won a pencil case for his impeccable attendance. Now, Crosby doesn’t mention her lad’s age or grade, but given his delight in the pencil case, it sounds as if he’s a fairly young grade-school child.

Most all mothers, of course, would give their boy a pat on the head and congratulate him. But not Crosby. She did manage to say that the pencil case was “lovely,” but then, she writes, she “quickly delivered a monologue to him about how attendance does not make a child good or bad.” And, oh, what a monologue it was.
