• CPAC Host Gets Busy Conserving Leftists’ Mistakes

    Sex Symbols-ConfusionBy Selwyn Duke

“What’s left to conserve?” Some have asked this question over the years, of conservatives, in reference to what they see as the smoldering ruins of our culture. Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) host Matt Schlapp apparently has in mind one thing to conserve, however: “Transgender” activists’ language and suppositions.

This came to light with a recent tweet (below) — which inspired pushback from other conservatives — in which Schlapp addressed the controversy over University of Pennsylvania (UPenn) swimmer Will Thomas, who claims he’s female and has adopted the first name “Lia.”

  • Video: Were the NAZIS Right Wing?

    By Selwyn Duke

Here's an excellent video examining our very tendentious political classifications. I'll add that Mohandas Gandhi (quite a bad man, actually) called Benito Mussolini a "Superman" and Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger was a eugenicist, just like the Nazis.

  • Report: Some Russian Officials “Frightened” and “Apocalyptic”; Putin in “Offended” State

    Scream of HorrorBy Selwyn Duke

“Whoever tries to impede us, let alone create threats for our country and its people, must know that the Russian response will be immediate and lead to the consequences you have never seen in history.” So said Russian president Vladimir Putin mere minutes before launching the invasion of Ukraine.

Three days later, the Russian leader put his nuclear forces on “special combat readiness,” a high-alert status. Around the same time, TV anchor Dmitry Kiselyov, known as a venomous Kremlin mouthpiece, boasted to his viewers of Russia’s destructive nuclear capacity and then echoed the Puntinesque principle, “’Why do we need the world if Russia isn’t there?”

All this may just reflect another Russian principle, a military one: “Escalate to deescalate” (that is, to intimidate and extract concessions). Yet there’s another possibility.

  • Expert: Putin May Want to PROVOKE NATO Involvement in Ukraine to Save Himself

    Man in CrosshairsBy Selwyn Duke

Vladimir Putin may be winning the war on the ground in Ukraine, but he’s losing the propaganda war abroad and at home. So says a national security expert who also warns of what would turn the Russian leader’s home-front public-relations fortunes around: NATO involvement in the conflict.

In fact, states Tom Nichols, a professor at the U.S. Naval War College, Putin may want to provoke NATO into intervening in Ukraine visibly in order to have a boogeyman against whom to rally his increasingly demoralized people.

  • Arrested in Russia: Some Say “America Has Failed Brittney Griner”

    Prejudice SignBy Selwyn Duke

How much should people be paid for a product that doesn’t sell? According to those upset about the Russians’ arrest of basketball player Brittney Griner, oodles of money is the answer — if that unmarketable product happens to be the WNBA.

In fact, say these critics, that Griner is charged with “large-scale transportation of drugs” — for allegedly trying to leave Russia with vape cartridges filled with cannabis oil — is America’s fault.

  • The Incredible Disappearing Fauci

    Shell GameBy Selwyn Duke

Though Dr. Anthony Fauci perhaps fancies himself a god, he nonetheless had to accept that omnipresence would elude him and settle for mere media ubiquity. But even this has now changed, as the man whose last name means “jaws” has disappeared from mainstream media like a baby elephant seal down a Great White’s gullet.

It’s not because Ukraine is dominating the airwaves, either, as Fauci’s vanishing act predated the Russian invasion.

  • Kamala on the Case? We Have “Crazies” Negotiating With Nuclear-armed Russia

    Banana RepublicBy Selwyn Duke

War rages in Ukraine after the largest invasion in Europe since WWII, and some American politicians suggest establishing a no-fly zone that would have us shooting at nuclear-armed Russia’s planes. But, never fear, Kamala Harris was on the case, conducting “diplomacy with our allies.”

If this doesn’t exactly comfort you, you’re not alone.

  • My Appearance on the Pete Santilli Show — 3/4/22

  • How the West Gave Us the Ukraine Invasion

    By Selwyn Duke

There’s a certain “strategic blunder of potentially epic proportions” that the West is making, wrote cold warrior and Russia expert George F. Kennan decades ago. It will lead to “a new Cold War” with Russia, he also predicted, “probably ending in a hot one.” That new Cold War came.

And now the hot one has come, in Ukraine.

That strategic blunder was one that some, even now, aim to exacerbate. And it is this: the expanding of NATO — right up to Russia’s borders.

Kennan was no appeaser, mind you, nor was he a war hawk.
